Track: Good The track was well presented for racing with all equipment functioning throughout the meeting.
Scales: Checked and correct.
Health and Safety comment:

Judicial report: STAY YOUNG completed a satisfactory trial which was required under Rule 81.1.
Trainer J.McInerney(K Gommans kennel representative) admitted a breach of Rule 88.1(o) (Negligence) and fined $200.00 in that they failed to scratch PADDY BAXTER by the required time of 7:30am. When accessing the penalty, Stewards took into account that it was a NZRS Final and as a result denied IDOL GIRL a start in the race.

Race 1	NZRS Novice Heats C0-1 Heat 1 - NZRSq - 457 Heat 1	ADDA BOY ZEKE and CLUAIN MEALA came together and bumped shortly after leaving the boxes. Shortly after the start, DOLL PARTS angled inwards towards the rail and in doing so checked THRILLING INDY which lost ground. CHARMING CHUCK raced wide throughout covering extra ground. THRILLING INDY and ADDA BOY ZEKE came together and bumped rounding the turn resulting in ADDA BOY ZEKE losing its footing briefly. THRILLING INDY which finished toward the rear was referred to the Veterinarian and was found to be suffering from a left Pectoral muscle injury.
Race 2	NZRS Novice Heats C0-1 Heat 2 - NZRSq - 457 Heat 2	MISS COOL shifted inwards abruptly on jumping away crowding DOGGED DAN inwards onto JUST LIKE PRINCE which was checked and lost ground. JUST LIKE PRINCE ran wide rounding the bend. Over the final stages, MISS COOL raced in restricted room to the inside of THRILLING CARTER and had to shifted ground outwards across that runners heels to continue to improve.
Race 3	NZRS Novice Heats C0-1 Heat 3 - NZRSq - 457 Heat 3	SUDDEN EXPLOSION was slow to begin and was outpaced throughout. BIT COIN angled inwards shortly after jumping away crowding SARAH CAMPBELL, OPAWA PEEKAY and THRILLING BERT. Entering the home straight, OPAWA PEEKAY had to shift inwards across the heels of SOME GENES which ran wide. Also hampered was THRILLING BERT which was forced wider on the track. Favourite THRILLING BERT after getting back in the initial stages finished the race off well to finish third at the line.
Race 4	NZRS Novice Heats C0-1 Heat 4 - NZRSq - 457 Heat 4	FASA MAN jumped inwards from the boxes making firm contact with BIG JOB JONESY which became unbalanced and lost its footing in-front. FASA MAN ran wide rounding the turn forcing OPAWA TANIA and DRACO BAXTER wider on the track. FASA MAN which finished well back was referred to Veterinarian for assessment and was cleared of any injury. GUCCI RUSH clipped the heel of CALM NUSKA approaching the turn when that runner angled wider on the track. GUCCI RUSH lost significant momentum and ground as a result and finished the race off well to finish third at the line. CALM NUSKA was checked rounding the bend and lost ground when racing in tight quarters between TRIPLE AYE and THRILLING STYLE.
Race 5	NZRS Novice Heats C0-1 Heat 5 - NZRSq - 457 Heat 5	OPAWA PEARL began awkwardly and settled toward the rear of the field. COGNAC DIAMOND had to steady rounding the bend to avoid the heels of NOSE WHITE which angled inwards at the point of the bend.
Race 6	NZRS Novice Heats C0-1 Heat 6 - NZRSq - 457 Heat 6	KWASANT was slow away from the boxes. NIGHT PEARLS angled inwards approaching the bend and as result crowded FIGLIA, OPAWA COLIN and UNO CHARM. FIGLIA shortly after had to check off the heels of OPAWA COLIN and in doing so ran wide forcing KWASANT over extra ground.
Race 7	NZRS Novice Heats C0-1 Heat 7 - NZRSq - 457 Heat 7	OPEHU TIGER jumped inwards abruptly at the start hampering SECONDS GOOD which lost ground at settled at the rear of the field. OPEHU TIGER and SECONDS GOOD were then obliged to make their runs wide down the back straight. Rounding the bend, OPAWA LEANNE angled wider on the track and in doing so checked KAY ROAD, OPEHU TIGER and CHELSEAS BABE with all runners losing several lengths.
Race 8	NZRS Novice Heats C0-1 Heat 8 - NZRSq - 457 Heat 8	VINNIE BAXTER was slow to begin (5L). BACKYARD QUEEN angled inwards toward the lure shortly after the start placing BLACK HENNESSY, BOOMERANG MAN, RICH LIST, OPAWA IDOL, IVA CUNNING PLAN and CHELSEA'S BEAUTY all in restricted room for some distance. RICH LIST and IVA CUNNING PLAN were checked shortly after and lost ground. OPAWA IDOL had to steady off the heels of BLACK HENNESSY when that runner shifted in at the point of the bend. OPAWA IDOL shifted in early in the home straight forcing BOOMERANG MAN into the line of BLACK HENNESSY which was checked and losing all chance. IVA CUNNING PLAN ran wider entering the home straight covering extra ground.
Race 9	Happy Birthday Arnie Clark Dash C4 - C4 - 375	BULET TOOTH TONY shifted inwards abruptly on jumping away making heavy contact with JACK'S FIRST which became unbalanced briefly. STIFF DRINK jumping inwards at the start hampering EMMA MARIE which lost ground. BULET TOOTH TONY shifted out simultaneously as STIFF DRINK shifted in resulting in crowding to RUN JUNIOR RUN and EMMA MARIE with both runners losing ground. RUN JUNIOR RUN then made its run wide entering the home straight and ran home well to finish fourth at the line.
Race 10	www.racingdogs.co.nz C5 - C5 - 375	CHEMICALLY FREE and FLIRT ACADEMY came together and bumped shortly after the start. CHEMICALLY FREE was then obliged to make its run wide rounding the bend. UNO ALLEGRO was checked and lost several lengths racing into the bend when WEE DIGER shifted inwards towards the lure.
Race 11	NZRS Graduation C2-3 Final - NZRSf - 457	THRILLING GIGGLE and THAT'S KING were crowded shortly after the start when BIGTIME DASHER angled wider. Approaching the bend, THAT'S KING, THRILLING GIGGLE and OPAWA JEAN all racing in restricted room to the inside of OPAWA MEZ which was shifting ground inwards. THRILLING GIGGLE then had to made its run wide in order to improve and finished the race off strongly to win well.
Race 12	Foxton Stakes C4/5 - C4/5 - 457	THRILLING CHARLY and SUPERIOR IZMIR were slow to begin. Approaching the bend, OSCAR TUIVASA, BIGTIME KAREN and RODRIGUEZ were checked and lost ground when racing in tight quarters. Also affected was EL JETTA who was buffeted for a short distance.
