| Race 1 | Buy Sell & Exchange NZ Cup Semi Final 1 - C5q - 520 Heat 1 | The start of this event was delayed 10 minutes by Stewards request due to the harness trial meeting running late. RUSSELL HART (8) was slow away. Into the first bend RENE RANGER (3) was contacted from behind and shifted outwards abruptly forcing RUSSELL HART over extra ground and extinguishing the chances of both runners. Racing off the back straight ULTIMATE DREAM (4) checked off the heels of OPAWA JED (6) and lost momentum. RENE RANGER was sent to the veterinarian for assessment. Due to technical problems there was no head on camera replay of this event. |
| Race 2 | Buy Sell & Exchange NZ Cup Semi Final 2 - C5q - 520 Heat 2 | KNOW ATTEMPT (5) and POPSTAR ROCKET (6) were slow to begin. BRIGHTON BULLET (2) and SPEEDY KAZZA (3) jostled for some distance in the run to the first bend. Into the first bend DRYSDALE (7) shifted off the running line and made firm contact with SPEEDY KAZZA which was shifted into the running line of LOCHINVAR BRANDO (8) and KNOW ATTEMPT both of which had their chances extinguished. |
| Race 3 | Buy Sell & Exchange NZ Cup Semi Final 3 - C5q - 520 Heat 3 | KNOW CLASS (7) was slow to begin . THRILLING BLITZ (2) and OPAWA CASPER (3) jostled for a distance in the run for the first turn . Shortly there after PINDARI (6) shifted out and forced KNOW CLASS over extra ground .KNOW CLASS shifted ground on a number of occasions in the run home when obtaining clear running. |
| Race 4 | Buy Sell & Exchange NZ Cup Semi Final 4 - C5q - 520 Heat 4 | The start of this event was delayed 1 minute on request from race day control . RODRIGUEZ (7) was slow away . In the run to the first bend OPAWA NO EAR (6) and JANNIK (3) made firm contact resulting in OPAWA NO EAR being badly unbalanced and losing momentum. At the end of the back straight JANNIK shifted off the heels of RODRIGUEZ and hampered the trailing NO UNDIES SUNDY (8) . Favourite JANNIK which finished well back in the running was sent to the veterinarian for assessment where no abnormalities were found. |
| Race 5 | Super Pets Galaxy Semi Final 1 - C5q - 295 Heat 1 | KNOW ESCAPE (8) was slow to begin . Into the first bend BELLWAVE(2) and YABBA YABBA (3) jostled when racing tight to the running line resulting in BELLWAVE coming back into the running line of both COOL BEAR (6) and KNOW ESCAPE which were checked and lost all chance when well back . |

GO HOUSIE (3) angled outwards into the bend causing a slight check to PICK THE TIP (6) who was running inwards. CAWBOURNE JELLY (5) was also inconvenienced in between this pair. |
| Race 7 | Super Pets Galaxy Semi Final 3 - C5q - 295 Heat 3 | WILL EXCITE (8) was slow to begin. CALL ME RALPH (4) was slow through the initial stages. On jumping DAMARJO (3) shifted outwards and made firm contact with RUN LACEY RUN (5).Into the first bend RUN LACEY RUN was unbalanced and lost momentum when WANDY GRANT shifted down towards the running line. CALL ME RALPH was hampered in this incident when well back. In the final straight WILL EXCITE shifted off the heels of WANDY GRANT (7) when finishing strongly. |

| Race 9 | Garden City Chem-Dry Stakes - C3 - 520 | BOTANY KEVIN (5) and SHOULD BE CARLOS (6) jostled for a distance after the start.In to the first bend BOTANY KEVIN was checked when on the heels of FEAR GO (3) and came back into the running line of RED TYPHOON (8) which lost momentum and SHOULD BE CARLOS which was badly unbalanced and lost all chance. |

Rounding the final turn OPAWA PAUL (1) shifted down towards the running line and hampered GEE CEE BEE(3) which lost momentum . Shortly there after THRILLING JONAH checked off the heels of OPAWA BOMB (6) when well back in the field. |
| Race 11 | Hampden Tavern Distance - C1d - 645 | In to the first bend KNOW TASTE (6) checked outwards off BIG TIME KELINA (5) . Shortly after KNOW FUTURE (2) BIG TIME KELINA and OPAWA PEEKAY (4) all came together when negotiating the bend and were unbalanced and lost momentum . |
| Race 12 | Speight's Stakes - C2 - 520 | Into the first bend RAMBUNCTIOUS (2) and MR JIMMY (3) jostled for a distance . OPAWA MARG (6) shifted in towards the running line and was hampered when making contact with RAMBUNCTIOUS the trailing MR JIMMY was also hampered in this incident . On the final turn RAMBUNCTIOUS shifted inwards and checked MR JIMMY which was unbalanced as a result . MR JIMMY gave ground quickly in the final straight and was sent to the veterinarian for assessment. |
