Judicial report: CASY'S RAIDA (D Stapleton) completed a satisfactory trial as required by Rule 80. Trainer D Stapleton, represented by kennel representative S Barber, was fined $100.00 as per the Minor Infringements Table after admitting a breach of Rule 69.11 when PRIMITIVE weighed in 2.1 kgs under her last race weight on 15 October 2013.

Race 1	CENTRAL WATER CARRIERS - C1 - 390	AUTUMN SPIRIT (1) ran outwards in the initial stages checking BOWMAN (2) and TANTO'S WHISPER (3) who lost ground. TANTO'S WHISPER then angled inwards into the bend tightening BOWMAN who lost ground and then ran wide. SMASHIN' TIME (6) covered extra ground on the home turn and lost a couple of lengths.
Race 2	www.southlandgreyhounds.co.nz - C1 - 390	CALM SPIRIT (5) ran outwards in the early stages causing WORD FOR WORD (7) and NEW INGILLTAB (8) to change ground to the inside to receive room. CAWBOURNE BEAU (3) ran outwards into the bend checking PAYMENT DUE (4) for a stride. The favourite LAMB SHANK (6) blundered into the bend when checking off the heels of PAYMENT DUE. STARBURST PAUL (1) shortened stride when leading on the turn dropping back quickly through the field and finishing a clear last. This dog was referred to the vet for assessment. CALM SPIRIT was also referred to the vet for assessment.
Race 3	WILLY'S FLOORING LTD - C1 - 390	ELLIE WAVES (7) was last to jump and then received a slight check soon after. THIAGO (2) angled outwards into the bend checking CHARLES FREDRICK (3) and WUNZEE (5) who lost momentum.
Race 4	ASCOT PARK HOTEL - C0 - 457	CEE ACH GEE (2), HOMEBUSH TITAN (3) and BAD WEEK (4) were the last trio on jumping. In the early stages HOMEBUSH TITAN ran inwards tightening CEE ACH GEE for a stride. Into the bend OPAWA CHRIS (7) angled inwards causing checks to CAWBOURNE ONYX (6) and MILLIE'S BOY (5) who both lost ground.
Race 5	COLORMARK SYSTEMS LTD - C3 - 390	TURBO TUNDRA (7) was last to jump. Kennelmates WANDY FEATHER (3) and SMASH AMEGO (4) tangled into the first bend and lost ground. HOMEBUSH EDITH (2) shifted up the track soon after and checked SMASH AMEGO with WANDY FEATHER being inconvenienced in behind. On the home turn KETUT (8) covered extra ground by running wide.
Race 6	ADDED ENERGY STAKES - C2 - 390	HOMEBUSH CRUDEN (8) was the last to jump. In the early stages SOME SAY (6) ran inwards colliding with BLACK TRIGGER (3) with this pair losing ground. On the bend HAZZA'S GOT SWAG (2) checked off the heels of BLACK TRIGGER and ran outwards checking SOME SAY. CAWBOURNE CRAZY (5) was found to have a ripped stopper pad after being assessed by the vet.
Race 7	SGRC $50 LEATHER LEADS - C3/4 - 457	GRANT A WISH (8) was last to jump. BOTANY KEVIN (2) shifted outwards slightly in the early stages inconveniencing SEA SPRAY DORIS (3) and VALIDATION (4) for a stride. SEA SPRAY DORIS ran outwards in the back straight tightening STARBURST CLEMMY (5) and then checking OPAWA STYLE (7) with this pair dropping to the rear.
Race 8	$26 FIVE WIRE MUZZLE STAKES - C1 - 457	OPAWA IDOL (3) was a clear last at the jump. MISS ISABELLA (7) ran inwards in the back straight checking MAX'S LAD (4) and CHILL OUT RALPH (5) who lost ground. OPAWA TANIA (1) angled outwards into the bend checking MISS ISABELLA and pushing MOON AND SEA (8) wider on the track. On the home turn CHILL OUT RALPH ran outwards checking MISS ISABELLA with this pair losing a few lengths.
Race 9	www.charlotteandsam.co.nz - C1 - 457	TODDY'S A FLYER (6) and SHEEZA FLOWER (8) were the last pair at the jump. NOGGIN (4) shifted outwards in the back straight checking TODDY'S A FLYER who lost ground. Into the bend OPAWA SAM (3) was badly checked when racing to the outside of HILL OF GRACE (1) with OPAWA SAM running very wide and losing ground.
Race 10	100% SELECTRIX - C2 - 457	GYPSY HUNTER (8) went up with the lids and fell to the track at the start not completing the race. Stewards withheld the All Clear until viewing the replays and establishing that GYPSY HUNTER was not denied a fair start in terms of Rule 76.9. The dog was concussed as a result of this incident and received attention from the vet. OPAWA JEAN (2) and STARBURST BENNY (6) both received severe checks on the home turn when racing in tight quarters with this pair losing their chances.
Race 11	SOUTHLAND & OTAGO PHOTO FINISH - C2 - 390	AYKROYD (6), IVA CUNNING PLAN (7) and FINGER POP (8) were slow to jump. THEOKOLES (5) ran inwards briefly making contact with STOCK TAKER (4) and BOLT RAMA (3). OPAWA BART (2) checked off the heels of BOLT RAMA for a stride into the bend.
Race 12	justracing.com.au - C4/5 - 390	PRIMITIVE (9) was last to jump. WAIMAK DAVE (7) was tightened and lost ground into the bend as ADMIRE (8) crossed from the outside. PRIMITIVE ran very wide in the home straight dropping to the rear. Trainer Luke Philips informed Stewards that the improved form of the winner OSCAR TUIVASA (5) could be attributed to his return to his favoured Southland track. Following the race ADMIRE was referred to the vet for assessment.
