| Race 1 | CENTRAL WATER CARRIERS - C1 - 390 | This race was delayed by two minutes due to a communication problem with the starter. SON OF GRACE (7) was last to jump. Into the bend SON OF GRACE checked off the heels of CHARLES FREDRICK (4) and lost a couple of lengths with RUMBALL AND ICE (3) being inconvenienced in behind. The favourite SMASHIN' TIME (8) ran very wide around the bend and lost ground. |
| Race 2 | 100% SELECTRIX - C1 - 390 | CAWBOURNE CLOCK (8) was last to jump. SAM'S FLYIN NORM (3) angled outwards in the early stages contacting HILL OF GRACE (4) with this pair losing ground. CAWBOURNE POLLY (6) was tightened into the first bend and dropped to the rear. She made ground well late for third. Following the race CAWBOURNE CLOCK was referred to the vet for assessment. |
| Race 3 | COLORMARK SYSTEMS LTD - C1 - 390 | The start was held up slightly due to SHEEZA FLOWER (5) initially being placed in the wrong box. This was quickly rectified with handler R Breen being reminded to take more care in future. CAWBOURNE MERC (7) was a clear last at the jump. SHEEZA FLOWER and MERELY A DREAM (1) were both tightened into the bend and lost ground as SARAH'S DOMAIN (6) crossed to the rail. HAZZA'S LAD (3) was checked in this incident and DYNA FRIER (4) was obliged to race wide to avoid these runners. |
| Race 4 | SGRC $26 FIVE WIRE MUZZLES - C3 - 457 | GLENN IS GOODSEY (5) was last to jump. BOTANY KEVIN (2) checked outwards into the bend with resultant checks to SEA SPRAY DORIS (8), BEADMAN (7) and BOB'S EYE (6) with this trio losing their chances. |
| Race 5 | SOUTHLAND & OTAGO PHOTO FINISH - C0 - 457 | COSMIC CHOICE (8) jumped in the air as the lids opened and settled a clear last. COSMIC CHOICE then raced very wide into the bend when improving losing more ground as OPAWA LUCKY (2) angled outwards. |

WANDY FEATHER (4) pushed kennelmate TURBO TUNDRA (3) down the track in the back straight for some strides. OKUKU WEE MAN (2) then ran outwards checking WANDY FEATHER. Into the bend TURBO TUNDRA ran outwards pushing EMBEE DEE (8) and GOGO RIOLI over extra ground. |
| Race 8 | ASCOT PARK HOTEL - C1/2 - 390 | LA FONTAINE (5) ran inwards in the early stages dictating the line of CAWBOURNE CRAZY (4) and STOCK TAKER (3) down the track. Soon after STOCK TAKER and HOMEBUSH CRUDEN (6) collided with this pair dropping to the rear. THEOKOLES (2) angled outwards into the bend pushing CAWBOURNE CRAZY wider on the track. |
| Race 9 | SGRC $50 LEATHER LEADS - C1/2 - 390 | SEA SPRAY TICH (7) ran outwards checking the favourite KETUT (8) for a stride in the early stages. KETUT then kept a very wide course around the bend covering extra ground throughout. ANOTHER PIZZA (2), SMASH DORA (4) and HAZZA'S GOT SWAG (5) were all tightened into the bend losing ground. |
| Race 10 | ADDED ENERGY STAKES - C1/2 - 457 | OPAWA BOMB (7) angled inwards contacting CHILL OUT RALPH (5) for a stride. MAX'S LAD (2) then ran outwards checking OPAWA BOMB. Into the bend JIBBAJABBA JEWEL (9) was tightened as OPAWA ALBIE angled to the rail with CHILL OUT RALPH being forced wide around this runner. |
| Race 11 | www.charlotteandsam.co.nz - C1/2 - 457 | IDOL GIRL (4) was incorrectly shown as weighing in 2kgs down on her previous weight with this correction being advised to the public by the commentator. SHALANA STAR (3) was tightened and lost ground into the bend with IDOL GIRL racing wide around this runner. ISABELLE DOMAIN (7) gave ground in the home straight after being handy to the turn. A vet examination revealed possible cramp but no injury. Trainer J McInerney advised that her immediate racing at Southland will be restricted to sprints where possible. |
