Track: Good After recent heavy rain the track was a little soft on the outside but was otherwise in good order and the meeting proceeded smoothly after the initial problems with the lure had been rectified.
Scales: Checked and correct
Health and Safety comment: Nil

Judicial report: The meeting was put back by one race for the entire programme after the lure wire had to be replaced after breaking during trials which were being conducted following the kennelling process.

Race 1	Absolutely Electrical C2 - C2 - 520	All clear.
Race 2	Harrison Hire Master C2 (Heat 1) - C2q - 305 Heat 1	SPEEDY FEET shifted out on the bend and forced WHERE'S RICAN to also race wide and they stayed back to finish at the rear.
Race 3	JP Print (Petone) C2 (Heat 2) - C2q - 305 Heat 2	KEZZ, LOCKETT IN EDDIE and WUNYA bumped together when the start was made and LOCKETT IN EDDIE and WUNYA settled back. STIFF DRINK and OPAWA SISTER also bumped together at the start and both lost momentum for a short distance. WUNYA clipped the heels of LOCKETT IN EDDIE going to the first corner and almost fell losing several lengths and all chance.
Race 4	Gary Ross Decorator C3 - C3 - 305	The favourite TAWNY PORT began a little awkwardly and from box 8 was forced to race wide in the early part. He was then hampered going into the bend when avoiding the heels of BLACK MERCEDES and stayed back to finish 6th.
Race 5	Palamountains Nutrition C4 - C4 - 305	YA LAUGHIN, FLYING BLAKE, VICK'S QUEST and HOMEBUSH BORIS came together soon after the start and they continued to make contact for some distance with all four runners losing ground and they finished in the last four places. YA LAUGHIN was awkwardly placed going into the bend and made firm contact with the rail and was referred to the Vet for assessment and found to have bruising and a cut to a calve muscle.
Race 6	Mickey's Super Liquor C3/4 - C3/4 - 520	This race was started 2 minutes late at the request of Raceday Control. CAWBOURNE TILLY and MERCENARY bumped together soon after the start and became unbalanced for a few strides. CHEVY VOLT and SPACE RACE bumped soon after the start and settled back. CHEVY VOLT raced onto the back of PHONE TAP going into the first bend and they ran very wide losing several lengths and all chance. MERCENARY and FASTBACK KING came together going into the final bend and they both lost three lengths.
Race 7	The Rock 95.2 C5 - C5 - 305	MATILDA'S BABE shifted in from the start and checked COSMIC FURY which lost a length. ALLEGRO STAR, SECRET STAR and TALK IT OVER bumped together and lost momentum for a couple of strides soon after the start. HYPOTENTIAL shifted in and jostled with ALLEGRO STAR going into the bend and he then shifted out abruptly onto MATILDA'S BABE and went back to the rear and never recovered. MATILDA'S BABE shifted in entering the home straight and bumped SECRET STAR which then shifted out making contact with HYPOTENTIAL and all three dogs lost ground and finished at the rear.
Race 8	Crombie Lockwood C3 Final - C3f - 520	LADY ANABELLA was awkwardly placed between runners soon after the start and was shuffled back to near the rear and she was again hampered going into the first bend and never recovered. HELLO ELLO shifted in going to the first corner and crowded ALL IN ALL and WHAT'S UP GEE and they both lost two lengths. ANOTHER DOLLAR then shifted in and checked HELLO ELLO which also lost ground. HELLO ELLO was held up behind ANOTHER DOLLAR for some distance in the back straight and then raced onto the heels of ANOTHER DOLLAR going into the last bend and they both lost several lengths.
Race 9	Wanganui Security C5 - C5 - 305	FIERY DANCER shifted out slightly going into the bend and was galloped on and dragged down behind by WATERBUG. FIERY DANCER lost several lengths, was classed as falling but did finish onto the lure at the rear of the field and was referred to the Vet for assessment. WATERBUG also lost ground in the incident.
Race 10	Wanganui Jockey Club C5 - C5 - 520	BIGTIME JET pushed into a marginal gap between MAMMY BROWN and BARRY'S WAY on the first corner and this resulted in severe checks to BARRY'S WAY, GRADUATION and CHAINSAW PETE and they went very wide into the bend losing several lengths.
Race 11	Morrie Gibbons Signs C4 - C4 - 305	MOODY MAN was slow to begin losing two lengths. JILL SPRITE, HOMEBUSH DOMINO and EXPLODABLE bumped together for a short distance soon after the start. JILL SPRITE clipped the heels of EXPLODABLE going into the bend and they both lost ground and LITTLE BLACKSPOT which was following JILL SPRITE was also affected and lost three lengths. MISS FOXY MINX shifted in entering the home straight and checked FLY CANARY FLY which lost two lengths.
Race 12	Christmas at the Races 6, 13 & 20 December C4 - C4 - 305	MATTI OAH shifted in across the heels of RANDO REASON soon after the start and settled at the rear. GEORGE BAXTER, THRILLING MIGHT and RANDO REASON jostled together for a short distance soon after the start. THRILLING MIGHT checked over the heels of GEORGE BAXTER on the bend and shifted out to race wide. HOT KING COLE shifted in on the bend and checked RANDO REASON which went back to last and finished in that position.
