FLYING MOE (2) checked off the heels of BEADMAN in the run to the first turn. At the first turn BOTANY KEVIN (7) checked off the heels of OHOKA FRENCHI. Rounding the first turn PSEUDONYM checked off the heels of BEADMAN and ran wide. GLENN IS GOODESY (4), LINCOLN FLYER (9) and BOTANY KEVIN also raced wide. Into the back straight BEADMAN and GLENN IS GOODESY collided. Into the turn at the end of the back straight OHOKA FRENCHI and PSEUDONYM collided. |

Racing into the first turn BIT PICCADILLY (8) and OPAWA LEGS (7) collided. In the home straight CAWBOURNE DASHER shifted inwards forcing DILLMANSTOWN down the track. | Race 8 | Shirley Vet Clinic Sprint - C5 - 295 | In the early stages CAWBOURNE QUEEN (3) and ATTACK WIDE (5) collided. Also BELLWAVE (1) and PICK THE TIP (4) collided. Into the first turn PICK THE TIP and BELLWAVE again collided. Rounding the bend ATTACK WIDE made contact with PICK THE TIP. Early in the run home PICK THE TIP and TWO WAYS (8) collided. |
| Race 9 | New Zealand Racing Series Heat 3 - NZRSq - 520 Heat 3 | STOLEN MONEY (2), DRYSDALE (3) and NOT A KNOW (4) bumped shortly after the start. In the early stages HOMEBUSH IRIS (8), JINGARANGO (6) and SPEEDY KAZZA (5) collided and shifted down the track. As a result NOT A KNOW, STOLEN MONEY and OPAWA SWEDE (1) were all placed in restricted room. Into the turn DRYSDALE checked off the heels of HOMEBUSH IRIS. NOT A KNOW and ANOTHER COLT were also checked in this incident. Rounding the first turn DRYSDALE and ANOTHER COLT collided on several occasions. HOMEBUSH IRIS was referred to the vet for assessment. When spoken to regarding the improved performance of OPAWA SWEDE, kennel representative R Mathers explained that the dog was dropping back in class for today's race and was confident of a bold showing. He added that OPAWA SWEDE has a very good record from box 1 and the dog was able to jump quickly and race clear of the field. |
| Race 10 | Kolorful Kanvas Dash - C5 - 295 | KNOW THOUGHT (4) was slow to begin. Into the first turn WANDY GRANT (1) was checked by BATIATUS (2) and lost several lengths. |
| Race 11 | I Pave Concrete Stakes - C4 - 520 | MAXIMUM JEWEL (2) lost ground rounding the first turn finishing last by a considerable distance. MAXIMUM JEWEL was referred to the vet for assessment. When spoken to regarding the improved performance of OPAWA CASPER (5), co-trainer R Wales explained that the dog which was having its first start for two months was up 1.7kgs in weight and had been working well in training, however he was surprised with the effort. |
| Race 12 | Speight's Sprint - C4 - 295 | WILL EXCITE (2) and CAWBOURNE BURN (3) collided in the early stages. HOMEBUSH HELEN (7) shifted inwards along the back straight checking STARBURST BLANCH (6), SOSAN (5), JUMPIN' JULIA (4) and CAWBOURNE BURN. Rounding the bend WILL EXCITE became awkwardly placed on the heels of STARBURST BLANCH and fell. WILL EXCITE was cleared of injury by the vet. |
