Judicial report: BOTANY DAVE successfully completed a re-qualifying trial competed over 295 metres.

KNOW FUN was shown in some publications to have run second at it's most recent start as opposed to it's correct placing of third. Announcements were throughout the meeting both on and off course advising the correction.

Trainer M Flipp advised Stewards that subsequent to JUNIOR WHAT's performance at Addington on the 30th of August it was discovered the dog had sustained a considerable spilt to some front foot webbing. M Flipp said that this dog would now be sent for a spell in order to recover.

Race 1	N.Z. Racing Series Novice Heat 1 - NZRSq - 520 Heat 1	AUTUMN SPIRIT (2) was slow to begin. NOISY LEO (6) ran wide into the first turn. When questioned regarding the improved performance of winner NOISY LEO, trainers representative K O'Conner advised that the dog had raced for the first time today with strapping applied to both wrists and she was of the opinion this had allowed the dog to race in a more confident manner.
Race 2	N.Z. Racing Series Novice Heat 2 - NZRSq - 520 Heat 2	In the run to the first turn SECRET SARAH (2) was buffeted for several strides when racing between TRUPMED UP (1) and JINJA POP (3). Because of this SECRET SARAH lost some ground. JINJA POP raced in tight quarters soon after when positioned between TRUMPED UP and KNOW TASTE (4). When questioned regarding the improved performance of winner PUKEKO RIVER, trainers representative C Healey explained that the dog had been working well but racing without any luck. Mr Healey said that he had anticipated a forwards showing if the dog should jump well which it had done so on this occasion. When questioned regarding the run of JINJA POP, co-trainer D Fahey explained that he had been disappointed with the efforts of his dog but that it was a distinctly different racing proposition when unable to find the rails as it had not been able to do so today. Mr Fahey further advised that it was his intention to now re-locate this dog to another kennel.
Race 3	N.Z. Racing Series Novice Heat 3 - NZRSq - 520 Heat 3	JIBBAJABBA JEWEL (7) and NOGGIN (8) were slightly slower in the early stages. OPAWA MEZ (2) and OPAWA PEARL (3) bumped on several occasions in the first straight. PADDY BAXTER (6) raced in very tight quarters between JIBBAJABBA JEWEL and CANVAS RIDER (4) towards the first turn when JIBBAJABBA JEWEL ran inwards. JIBBAJABBA JEWEL then continued it's shift down the track towards the rails causing PADDY BAXTER, CANVAS RIDER, OPAWA PEARL and to a lesser extent OPAWA MEZ to be checked and lose ground and momentum. After this incident CANVAS RIDER lost contact with the body of the field with this dog continuing to concede ground for the remainder of the race. Stewards referred CANVAS RIDER to the vet for an examination which showed the dog to have torn it's gracilis. Stewards imposed a 28 day stand down.
Race 4	Happy Birthday Garry Cleeve Dash - C1 - 295	BLUE GALE RISE (7) and QUE TEE CHICKS (8) were slower in the early stages. BLUE GALE RISE (7) was buffeted and lost it's position early when racing between QUIET SNORT (6) and QUE TEE CHICKS (8). JET EVEN (5) came down the track racing into the turn and caused OHOKA HART (4) and JUMPIN SALLY (3) to race in restricted room and lose some momentum. Because of OHOKA HART being checked in this incident the trailing BLUE GALE RISE and QUE TEE CHICKS became awkwardly placed and had to check which cost them ground. When questioned regarding the improved performance of winner CAWBOURNE BURN (1), trainers representative M Roberts explained the dog had appreciated both the box draw (1) and also a drop back in distance.
Race 5	N.Z. Racing Series Novice Heat 4 - NZRSq - 520 Heat 4	PUKEKO RAPTOR (4) was slow to begin. PUKEKO RAPTOR had to check outwards off the heels of ZULU BRO (7) in the early stages. On the first turn PARTY ROCK (3) shifted inwards and collided heavily with KNOW FUTURE (2) which was attempting to improve. Both dogs involved lost significant ground. PARTY ROCK which lost further ground on the field was sent to the Vet for examination which revealed no abnormalities.
Race 6	N.Z. Racing Series Novice Heat 5 - NZRSq - 520 Heat 5	LACEY (8) was slow to begin. HEAR HARE HERE (1), which was looking to shift wider, raced in restricted room to the inside of OPAWA NATTY (7) into and on the first turn. MEGA REXY (2) shifted outwards on the first bend taking ANOTHER SNAZZA (6) and KNOW FUN (4) wider.
Race 7	Barron's Supplies Sprint - C1 - 295	THANKS LOUISE (10) and MULBERRY HUNTER (4)were slow to begin WORD FOR WORD (3) and HILTON FRIDAY (6) came together and bumped in the early stages. MULBERRY BROOK (9) improved into restricted room between TEEVEE GIDGET (8) and EASY SILENCE (1) on the bend causing it be checked and lose ground. Because of this the following WORD FOR WORD was checked. TEEVEE GIDGET had to check out and off the heels of HILTON FRIDAY in early stages of run home
Race 8	N.Z. Racing Series Novice Heat 6 - NZRSq - 520 Heat 6	MOON AND SEA (8) was slow to begin WAGON WHEEL (2) scrambled to find its feet and went down on its nose in the early stages. BIZARRO (5) in the early stages shifted down the track causing bumping and tightening to OPAWA LEANNE (4), GAME GIRL (3), WAGON WHEEL and OHOKA TAYLOR (1). With each dog losing some momentum as a result. OPAWA LEANNE (4) ran wide on the first bend dictating CASINO BLACK (6) onto OPAWA CHRIS (7). CASINO BLACK raced in confined quarters between MOON AND SEA (8) and WAGON WHEEL (2) at the entrance to the back straight. When questioned regarding the improved run of GAME GIRL co-trainer R Adcock explained that this dog had been a very inconsistent form dog and could not attribute it's better run today to anything specific.
Race 9	N.Z. Racing Series Novice Heat 7 - NZRSq - 520 Heat 7	OPAWA CHILL (1) and TODDY'S A FLYER (3) both made bad beginnings. Racing towards the first bend KNOW SECURITY (4) shifted down the track and checked MCJOPSON (2) which was vying for a prominent position. MCJOPSON lost considerable ground and it's momentum. OPAWA CHILL (1) and BLUSHING BELLE (8) which were both trailing these runners at the time of this incident received checks and lost ground when taken wider. Leaving the final turn BLUSHING BELLE was held up behind the tiring OPAWA CHILL and had to shift ground to improve. When questioned regarding the run of OPAWA CHILL co-trainer J Lane advised the dog had received all favours when leaving maiden class at it's most recent run and given this was not disappointed with it's performance.
Race 10	N.Z. Racing Series Novice Heat 8 - NZRSq - 520 Heat 8	BANK ROLLER (6) shifted down the track in the early stages and dictated OPAWA CUDDLES (5) towards the rail where it raced in confined quarters for some distance. In this time both dogs bumped on several occasions.
Race 11	N.Z. Racing Series Novice Heat 9 - NZRSq - 520 Heat 9	YAPSTER JEWEL (3) and OPAWA ANNE (2) both received a check in the early stages when MEGA GIRL (4) shifted down the track. BOTANY COMET (7) and YAPSTER JEWEL came together in the run into the bend with these runners bumping. COURT THE BELLE (1) blundered when awkwardly placed close to the heels of BOTANY COMET on the final bend.
Race 12	Super Pets Sprint - C1 - 295	NITRO EXPRESS (8) was slow to begin. JET TO MARS (3), GO NOLA (4) and MAMALULU (5) all jostled in the early stages. JET TO MARS ran outwards racing into the bend and took GO NOLA outwards sharply causing it to collide with BE PREPARED (6) causing GO NOLA to lose considerable ground and it's chance. BE PREPARED because of this collided with NITRO EXPRESS which was improving wide on the track with these dogs losing momentum.
