Race 1 Absolutely Electrical C0 - C0 - 305 GROOVY LEO and SAMY LOUISE were slow to begin and they stayed well back throughout the race. THUNDER TIME, ALL FOR ONE and KNOCKA OFF TIME jostled together for a couple of strides when the start was made but KNOCKA OFF TIME and THUNDER TIME recovered to finish in 1st and 3rd places. ALL FOR ONE was checked going into the bend and lost three lengths and all chance. The favourite FASA MAN led from the start but raced wide throughout covering considerable extra ground and this was probably the difference between winning the race and finishing where he did in 2nd place.
Race 2 Harrison Hire Master C0 - C0 - 520 WESTERLY WIND and TEN POINT ONE bumped together losing a little momentum when the start was made. VERSATILE RICHIE shifted in going to the first corner and tightened HUNTED and GUCCI RUSH which both lost ground with HUNTED the most affected and he went back to the rear. GUCCI RUSH was checked again on the first bend when WESTERLY WIND shifted down to the rail but GUCCI RUSH recovered well to make up ground and finished in 2nd place .
Race 3 J P Print, Petone C0 - C0 - 305 EXPONENTIAL LILY shifted out abruptly from the start and this resulted in a chain reaction of movement which affected HOMEBUSH CORAL, SHOWEM BABY, BREAKTHRU and CRAZY KATIE and they all lost ground and settled back. WORRY WART was away well from the start to be in 2nd position going into the bend but she then began to lose ground and appeared to have an awkward galloping action. WORRY WART finished in 5th place and was referred to the Vet for assessment and cleared of injury.
Race 4 Gary Ross Decorator C1 - C1 - 520 HOMEBUSH STING shifted out from the start and UNO CHARM shifted in and this resulted in OPAWA JEN, PADDY BAXTER and OUR BERNIE which were racing between being hampered and they settled back. OPAWA JEN galloped on the heels of HOMEBUSH STING checking that runner and HOMEBUSH STING lost several lengths and finished in last place.
Race 5 Palamountains Nutrition C0 - C0 - 305 MADDIE BRAND and INTENSE ZOOM began awkwardly losing three lengths. HO HO HO shifted in going into the bend and checked GOMAN NINNIE which lost four lengths and finished in last place. The 2nd placed runner SHEZA WHAT WHAT was observed to turn her head out towards the eventual race winner SEDGEBROOK GLORY for some distance in the home straight and she was referred to the Vet for an assessment , cleared of injury and stood down for 28 days under Rule 80.1 b for failing to pursue the lure throughout. SHEZA WHAT WHAT is also required to complete a satisfactory trial under Rule 81.1.
Race 6 Mickey's Super Liquor C1 - C1 - 305 TEPIRITA JAZIL and ZAMADDIS LASS bumped when the start was made and settled back. TEPIRITA JAZIL was checked going into the bend losing two lengths and stayed back to finish in last place.
Race 7 Keenan Concrete C1 - C1 - 520 WHITE LEGS checked off the heels of CLUAIN MEALA going into the first bend and shifted in causing checks to RICH LIST and TEPIRITA TUITEKA and they both lost ground and stayed well back for the remainder of the race.
Race 8 Wanganui Security C1 - C1 - 305 JAGER shifted in on the first corner and caused tightening and checks to BLACK MERCEDES, MIC PLAYER and HOMEBUSH ESME and ANOTHER STREET and JAGER were also affected to a lesser degree.
Race 9 Crombie Lockwood (NZ) Ltd C1 - C1 - 305 BLAIR NINETY and HOMEBUSH DIAMOND were slow to begin and settled back. LAVENDER SAL shifted in going into the bend and checked FLIRT ACADEMY and a few strides further on, LAVENDER SAL and HOMEBUSH DIAMOND were checked and they went back to the rear and finished in the last two places.
Race 10 Ray Huntley Memorial Final C1 - C1f - 520 OPAWA TOKEN shifted out going into the first bend and forced SUE SEWS SOCKS, COGNAC DIAMOND and BELLE CADEAU very wide over extra ground and they lost several lengths.
Race 11 Morrie Gibbons Signs C1 - C1 - 305 HOMEBUSH GRETA was slow to begin losing four lengths. JIMMY JURANTE shifted in going to the first corner and caused tightening and checks to YOUR ON FIRE, GENIA HAKA, HOMEBUSH LIMBO, HOMEBUSH JULIE and ASCHENPUTTEL and they all lost varying amounts of ground with HOMEBUSH LIMBO finishing in last place. JIMMY JURANTE was handy to the lead until the home turn where he began to drift and finished in 2nd last place. JIMMY JURANTE was observed to be awkward in his galloping action and was referred to the Vet for assessment.
Race 12 The Rock 95.2FM C1 - C1 - 305 HOMEBUSH AWESOME checked off the heels of JUMPIN SALLY when that runner shifted away from the rail on the bend and HOMEBUSH AWESOME lost four lengths.
