| Race 1 | Super Pets Sprint - C1 - 295 | There was a delay to the start of this race when ducks had to be removed from the track. MUSTANG MAGZ (5) and FLIRT WITH ME (6) lost ground in the opening stages after being heavily crowded between CAWBOURNE RANGA (4) and BOTANY JESSIE (7) which shifted ground. After racing for a brief distance NOISY LEO (1) moved outwards sharply and in doing so contacted both QUATTRO (3) and MUSTANG MAGZ who both received checks. QUATTRO was held up on the final turn behind tiring runners. |
| Race 2 | Terra Keroma At Stud Stakes - C0 - 520 | Racing into the first turn MORGAN BAXTER (8) came down the track and bumped CASINO BLACK (4) which was taken downwards onto OPAWA LAUREN (3). All three dogs lost momentum as a result. In the early part of the first turn LACEY (5) was unable to improve when buffeted for some distance between OPAWA LAUREN and MORGAN BAXTER. |
| Race 3 | Chris & Lisa Earl Sprint - C0 - 295 | JASPER HAKA (10) was slow to begin. TRUMPED UP (7) was very slow to begin and lost considerable ground. In the early stages BIT PERUSA (6) shifted down the track and checked WHAT I LIKE (5) onto HURRICANE SANDY (9). Racing into the first turn BIT PERUSA again shifted downwards turning the hind quarters of EM ARE DEE (2) and then causing significant interference to WHAT I LIKE which was forced inwards inconveniencing both HURRICANE SANDY and HOMEBUSH STING (1). |
| Race 4 | Coalgate Tavern Stakes - C1 - 520 | PSEUDONYM (7) when shifting down towards the rail near the first bend caused some crowding to WANDY CHLOE (5) and WAIMAK DAVE (3). HANNAH (4) which led in the early stages ran wide on the first turn and throughout the back straight with the dog losing ground as a result. When questioned with regards to the run of HANNAH, trainer B Shaw advised that it was his intention to now restrict this dog to sprint racing. |
| Race 5 | Active Electrical Christchurch Dash - C0 - 295 | In the early stages KATIE ATE IT (6) came down the track causing COSMIC ECHO (5), VIENNA (4) and BUBLIN JED (3) to all raced in restricted room. Leaving the bend COSMIC ECHO moved ground outwards and bumped GORILLA ON DRUMS (2) onto HOMEBUSH CORAL (8) with the trailing BUBLIN JED having to move wide to avoid these dogs. Soon after GORILLA ON DRUMS came back down the track and bumped with COSMIC ECHO. |
| Race 6 | Fanta Claws At Stud Dash - C1 - 295 | Stewards spoke with handler G Turnwald as the handler of ATTACK WIDE regarding the 2.1kg increase of the dogs weight since last being presented. Ms Turnwald explained that the dog had disappointed her with it's only effort subsequent to being imported from Australia and she felt that with this increase the dog was now at what she now thought was its optimum racing weight. ATTACK WIDE (4) and GENIA HAKA (3) bumped several times between the release and the first turn. SON OF GRACE (1) ran out when reaching the bend and in doing so checked GENIA HAKA, ATTACK WIDE and HOMEBUSH DAPHNE (5) with all having to race in restricted room. When crossing to the lead on the bend CONALOO (7) shortened the stride of GENISTA OUTLAW (6), which had competed for the lead to that point, who then shifted outwards and checked JOYVILLE (2) and then SON OF GRACE (1). |
| Race 7 | christchurchgreyhounds.co.nz Stakes - C1 - 520 | PADDY BAXTER (4) was buffeted between KNOW SOLUTION (3) and BANK ROLLER (8) in the run to the first bend with each dog being cost some momentum. Because of this incident the trailing KNOW FUTURE (7) had to shift wider which also cost this dog ground. BANK ROLLER when progressing towards the front on the first bend shortened the stride of MASSAGE ONLY (6) which lost some ground. |
| Race 8 | Yaldhurst Hotel Sprint - C1 - 295 | ANOTHER GUNNA (5) and BLUE GALE RISE (6) bumped shortly after the start. |
| Race 9 | Shirley Vet Clinic Stakes Final - C1f - 520 | MOON AND SEA (5) and GYPSY HUNTER (8), after missing the jump slightly, bumped together in the initial stages. |
| Race 10 | Yella Mustard At Stud Dash - C1 - 295 | Co-trainer M May was questioned regarding the 2.1kg weight increase of STAR GUN for this evenings race. Mr May said the dogs weight had decreased towards the end of his last campaign and so she had been freshened and been able to be returned to when they felt was it's optimal racing weight. In the early stages BILLY BRAND (10) was crowded for racing room between JET TO MARS (6) and CEC DEVINE (8) who were jostling for positions. In the run to the bend both STAR GUN (2) and WHITE LEGS (4) were forced to race in restricted room between WANDY FEATHER (1) and CEC DEVINE, with this eventually causing both runners to lose ground |
| Race 11 | The Miller Bar & Cafe Sprint - C1 - 295 | GLENN IS GOODESY (9) blundered shortly after the start and lost significant ground. Stewards sent this dog to be examined by the Veterinarian with no abnormality being found. HOMEBUSH LIMBO (6) raced in confined quarters between OPAWA SISTER (8) and JUMPIN SALLY (5) in the run to the bend. JUMPIN SALLY ran wide on the bend and in doing so took OPAWA SISTER and QUIET SNORT (7) over extra ground. |
| Race 12 | Speight's Dash - C2 - 295 | DON'T CALL ME (8) was slow to begin. Racing into the bend AVERSION (1) shifted outwards and bumped CAWBOURNE BURN (9) on several occasions with this dog eventually being taken wider onto both ANOTHER STREET (4) and HOMEBUSH ESME (10) who received checks. Leaving the bend AVERSION and DON'T CALL ME came together and bumped. |
