Judicial report: This report was compiled by G.Whiterod and L.Tidmarsh.
THRILLING MIGHT was re-examined under rule 82.5 with the stand-down being rescinded after being late scratched under rule 68.26 on Monday 22nd July at Manawatu.

Race 1 Absolutely Electrical C0 - C0 - 305 MAGIC TOBIN checked off the back of ADDICTED going into the bend and lost several lengths which he never recovered from and finished in last place and was referred to the Vet for assessment. THUNDER TIME checked over the heels of ADDICTED entering the home straight and he ran very wide and finished the race in 3rd place and out towards the outside fence.
Race 2 Harrison Hire Master C0 - C0 - 305 FANTAS FICTION was slow to begin losing three lengths but made up ground well to finish in 4th place. CUTS DEEP, KNOCKA OFF TIME and NO NO ROMEO jostled together and lost momentum on the home turn and soon after , FANTAS FICTION improved through inside KNOCKA OFF TIME and bumped with that runner and they also lost a little momentum. Trainer G.Quirk was questioned regarding the improved performance of the winner ALL THE MILK which had finished last and 2nd last at its only two previous starts. He stated that it was ALL THE MILK's first start for him, that she had been trialling well and he was expecting a good run from her today. The fact that ALL THE MILK started from an inside draw as opposed to box 8 at the first two starts was also a factor in his opinion.
Race 3 J P Print, Petone C0 - C0 - 520 ANOTHER ANOTHER shifted in abruptly from the start and checked SECONDS GOOD which then shifted out and collided with LOOPTASTIC and they jostled together for some distance until SECONDS GOOD was eventually checked near the first corner losing three lengths. LOOPTASTIC raced back in the field and was observed to ease going into the last bend when racing alongside JIMMY BUFFETT. However, because it could not be conclusively established from the D V D whether there had been contact between the two dogs, LOOPTASTIC was given the benefit of some doubt but was ordered to undergo a satisfactory trial under Rule 81.1 before next racing.
Race 4 Gary Ross Decorator C1 - C1 - 305 JUDY IN DIGUISE was observed to ease losing several lengths on the first corner and she went back to last and finished in that position. The D.V.D film was not conclusive as to whether there had been contact from HOMEBUSH DIAMOND on the outside and so JUDY IN DISGUISE was given the benefit of some doubt and was not subjected to a stand down for non pursuit but is required to complete a satisfactory trial under Rule 81.1 before next racing.
Race 5 Palamountains Nutrition C1 - C1 - 305 RIBA LORDA, BUBBLE OSTEE and SNUFFALOPOGAS bumped together when the start was made and lost momentum. BUBBLE OSTEE and VIOHLAY collided going to the first corner and VIOHLAY lost five lengths and stayed back to finish in last place. A few strides further on , KATE ROSE, RIBA LORDA and SEDGEBROOKE SKITE clashed together and they all lost ground.
Race 6 Mickey's Super Liquor C1 - C1 - 305 SOPHIE'S TERRA was slow to begin losing three lengths. BO WOO drew box 8 and was forced to race wide throughout covering extra ground and finished in last place.
Race 7 Crombie Lockwood (NZ) Ltd C1 - C1 - 520 BIG GIRL WELSHY and BELLE CADEAU collided going into the first bend losing several lengths and they stayed back to finish in the last two places.
Race 8 Wanganui Security C1 - C1 - 305 WORKING WAIKATO shifted in from the start and checked SECTIONED which lost a length but quickly recovered to loop the feld and won the race. SYDENHAM OPAL, FLAYOSC and WORKING WAIKATO bumped together going into the bend and lost ground and they finished in the rear group. FLAYOSC was referred to the Vet for assessment due to a laceration to the hind leg.
Race 9 The Rock 95.2FM C1 - C1 - 305 Racing into the bend, the favourite GRACY RACER was galloped on by SYDENHAM SAM who improved up onto the heels of that runner. GRACY RACER as a result lost considerable ground and effectivley, all chance. Also affected was the trailing FOUND ROMAN who had to change ground wider to avoid GRACY RACER.
Race 10 Morrie Gibbons Signs C1 - C1 - 305 KIRIBATI GIRL shifted in from the boxes bumping with HOMEBUSH COCO which settled at the rear of the field. DOLLY WIND raced wide throughout. HOMEBUSH ANABEL, HOMEBUSH COCO and KIRIBATI GIRL all raced in tight quarters around the bend and bumped on several occasions.
Race 11 Keenan Concrete C1 - C1 - 520 MATISSE was tightened going into the first bend when UNO CHARM shifted out off the rail. Shortly after MATISSE shifted in making contact with the heels of UNO CHARM which lost ground and momentum. COGNAC DIAMOND after racing wide in the early stages, was bumped by OPAWA TOKEN becoming unbalanced for a short distance. Entering the final straight, OPAWA TOKEN angled in bumping SUMMER TENSION which had to shift ground outwards across heels to obtain clear running. SUMMER TENSION finished the race off well for its third placing.
Race 12 Box 9 Catering C0D - C0d - 645 TEPIRITA TUITEKA was slow to begin losing five lengths as a result. Shortly after jumping away, THRILLING AVA from its inside draw was tightened and shifted out across the heels of NOAKI HURRICANE in order to improve. BACKYARD BULLY raced wide throughout, covering extra ground.
Race 13 Broad Roofing C2 Heat 1 - C2q - 305 Heat 1 OKUKU BOBO, HAT TRICK CHAOS, CAWBOURNE STEFFI and CAWBOURNE FLICK all raced in tight quarters down the back straight making contact on several occasions. HAT TRICK CHAOS was forced in toward the rail at the point of the bend resulting in AZURE DREAMS improving up onto the heels of HAT TRICK CHAOS and losing ground. The trailing BOUND BY PRIDE also had to steady to avoid heels. Racing around the bend, BOUND BY PRIDE improved up onto the heels of AZURE DREAMS becoming unbalanced and falling. BOUND BY PRIDE was referred to the Veterinarian for further assessment where the dog was found to be suffering from pain in both quadriceps muscles.
Race 14 Gary Peacock Remembrance C2 Heat 2 - C2q - 305 Heat 2 Eventual winner SYDILICIOUS was slowest to begin from the boxes however sped through on the inside around the bend to go on and win well. DUM DIDDLY DO and FURIOUS RESPONSE were both tightened between WUNYA and OKUKU LILLY which angled in at the point of the bend. Both DUM DIDDLY DO and FURIOUS RESPONSE lost valuable momentum in this incident as a result. MY BAD JONNY and GROOVY SHANE bumped around the bend and both became briefly unbalanced.
Race 15 Renown Bakery C2 Heat 3 - C2q - 305 Heat 3 TECHNO TACHO was jostled for a distance shortly after the start between HOMEBUSH HAYLEY and THRILLING TERROR. TECHNO TACHO settled at the rear of the field and failed to finish off in the home straight. TECHNO TACHO was sent to the Veterinarian for further assessment where she was found to be suffering from pain over both triangle muscles. KAZILLION raced wide throughout, covering extra ground. JUDGE TO EXCEL was observed to ease and lose several lengths at the point of the bend and went back to last, eventually finishing in seventh position. JUDGE TO EXCEL was referred to the Veterinarian where the dog was found to be suffering from a wrist injury.
Race 16 Guthrie Bowron C2 Heat 4 - C2q - 305 Heat 4 JIMMY JURANTE shifted inwards abruplty shortly after the start making heavy contact with ERIC'S SONG and CHELSEA'S BEAUTY. As a result ERIC'S SONG became unbalanced and fell. ERIC'S SONG regained it's footing and finished the race off however was referred to the Veterinarian for further assessment where she was found to be suffering from a bruised shoulder. JIMMY JURANTE continued to angle in towards the lure racing into the bend, making contact with CHELSEA'S BEAUTY on several occasions.
