HOMEBUSH LIMBO and WANDY FEATHER came together on the home turn when racing in midfield. |
| Race 2 | Hurunui Hotel Sprint - C0 - 295 | KERAMUS GIRL (1) came up with the lids and settled a clear last. In the early stages BUBLIN JED (6) crossed quickly to the inside with JASPER HAKA (5), PEP'S POT (4) and HOMEBUSH CORAL (3) all receiving checks and losing ground. The favourite BLUE GALE RISE (2) was checked and lost momentum when COSMIC ECHO (7) crossed to the rail and made contact. |

WANDY MILLAH (1) was tightened in the back straight losing ground with this runner then coming together with QUIET SNORT (3) and losing more ground. BANK ROLLER (6) was also checked in this incident and lost ground. |

On the first bend WANDY CHLOE (3) angled inwards tightening WAGON WHEEL (2) who lost ground. On the home turn KNOW SOLUTION (6) ran outwards for a stride causing a slight check to BLUSHING BELLE. |

Into the bend CONALOO (1) angled outwards checking RITE ROUND RANGE (2), GENISTA OUTLAW (3) and HOMEBUSH AWESOME (8) who blundered and dropped to a clear last. |

MULBERRY BROOK (5) angled inwards into the first bend checking PADDY BAXTER and KNOW FUTURE (4) who both lost ground. On the first bend CALM SPIRIT (1) ran off the rail and checked MULBERRY BROOK and GAME GIRL (6) who lost ground. |

In the back straight JET TO MARS (1) attempted to get off the rail and in doing so caused checks to CAWBOURNE HURDO (2), MULBERRY HUNTER, GENIA HAKA (4) and THIRSTY KELVIN (6) with this quartet losing ground. |
| Race 11 | Shirley Vet Clinic Stakes Heat - C1q - 520 Heat 3 | LAW TO EXCEL (5) was last to jump. THANKS LOUISE (4) and LAW TO EXCEL came together in the initial stages. Soon after NITRO EXPRESS (3) angled outwards checking THANKS LOUISE and LAW TO EXCEL. AUTUMN SPIRIT (2) ran outwards into the first bend badly checking NITRO EXPRESS and KNOW TASTE (7) who lost their chances. |
| Race 12 | Speight's Sprint - C2 - 295 | KNOW LIES (4) and ANOTHER STREET (8) were the slowest from the traps. JED NORTON (9) ran inwards in the back straight checking KNOW LIES. BE PREPARED (7) and ANOTHER STREET both ran wide into the bend losing ground. On the bend KNOW LIES was held up for clear room. At the lure the winner MAKE YOUR POINT (2) took a tumble but was cleared of any injury. |
