LIFE'S A LAUGH was then tightened on the bend and dragged down for a stride losing momentum. |
| Race 5 | Super Pets N.Z. St Leger Heat - R/Aq - 520 Heat 1 | BONE NERD (1) and TAKE NO PRISONER (8) were the last pair on jumping. OPAWA WEBBY (3) was crossed and checked by CHARLIE'S CHOICE (6) on the first bend as that runner crossed to the rail with BROOKLYN HOPE (7) and TAKE NO PRISONER being forced wide at this point. At the entrance to the back straight BONE NERD was checked as OPAWA WEBBY angled inwards with KNOW CHAOS (5), BROOKLYN HOPE and PINDARI (2) all receiving checks and losing ground and their chances. |

NOT A KNOW (5) ran wide covering extra ground around that bend. At the end of the back straight CAWBOURNE RENEE (1) galloped on the heels of POPSTAR ROCKET (6) with this pair losing ground. HOMEBUSH VIOLET was inconvenienced behind these runners at this point. At the lure the winner STOLEN MONEY (7) ran away from his catcher and jogged around the outside of the track eventually being coaxed back to his trainer. The veterinary surgeon reported that these exertions had no ill-effect on the dog. |
| Race 9 | David Emerson Harding Cup Heat - C5q - 295 Heat 1 | DRYSDALE (1) and ADINI (2) were the slowest pair from the traps. Into the bend DRYSDALE, ADINI, WANDY CHICK (3), JUMPIN' JULIA (4) and GITCHA EASY (5) all received tightening and lost ground. WANDY CHICK and GITCHA EASY jostled for some strides on the home turn when racing at the rear. ADINI faltered when pulling up and was referred to the vet for assessment. |

CAWBOURNE MOFF (6) ran inwards in the early stages pushing KNOW MISTAKE (5) and PICK THE TIP (3) down the track. PICK THE TIP checked off the back of KNOW MISTAKE into the bend and then ran outwards pushing TRICKY HARRY wider. On the home turn PICK THE TIP shifted outwards colliding with TRICKY HARRY when these dogs were racing at the rear. |

CIRI RIOLI (3) shifted outwards into the bend pushing CALLAHAN (5) outwards off the back of PEARL'S BOY (7). On the home turn BOTANY PRANCER ran outwards and pushed kennelmate LYNNY SOUTHCOMBE (4) wider on the track when this pair were racing at the rear. |
