| Race 1 | Super Pets Sprint - C2 - 295 | HOME TRUTH (4) was last at the jump. TWISTER AL (2) ran outwards in the back straight coming together with NITRO MABEL (6). Into the bend general tightening caused TWISTER AL, AVEC LAMOUR (3) and NITRO MABEL to all lose ground and their chances. When questioned in regards to the improved performance of the winner ROXY RASCAL co-trainer Janine Jopson cited the downgrade as the main reason. She also explained that the bitch had a brief spell and was fresh for today which helped her begin smartly. Ms Jopson further added that ROXY RASCAL would be restricted to sprints in her immediate engagements. |
| Race 2 | Hampden Tavern Maiden Sprint Heat - C0q - 295 Heat 1 | SHY AS (2), COSMIC ECHO (3) and UNO NOSEY (8) were the last from the traps. SHY AS checked off the back of JUMPIN SALLY (4) in the back straight and lost ground. FLIRT WITH ME (1) ran outwards when improving on the home turn and pushed OCHE (6) wider on the track. |
| Race 3 | Hampden Tavern Maiden Sprint Heat - C0q - 295 Heat 2 | JOEY'S SECRET (7) was a clear last to jump. OKUKU MUPPET (3) ran outwards contacting TEEVEE GIDGET (6) in the back straight. TEEVEE GIDGET was then dragged down into the bend losing ground with OKUKU MUPPET and GO PATCH (8) being sent wide to avoid this runner. On the home turn SAVE ANNE BOLEYN (4) ran very wide and lost all chance. The veterinary surgeon could find no abnormalities with this bitch following the race. After hearing submissions from the connections SAVE ANNE BOLEYN was ordered to complete a satisfactory trial before her next raceday start. |
| Race 4 | Hampden Tavern Maiden Sprint Heat - C0q - 295 Heat 3 | VALLDEMOSSA (1), SUMMER LOVE (2) and MORGAN BAXTER (3) were the last trio from the traps. MULBERRY MACRO (6) and MAMALULU (7) brushed together in the early stages. VALLDEMOSSA was keen to get out from the rail at the end of the back straight and caused tightening to PANDORA DOLL (5) and MULBERRY MACRO who lost ground. Soon after SUMMER LOVE tangled with MULBERRY MACRO when this pair were racing towards the rear. |
| Race 5 | Hampden Tavern Maiden Sprint Heat - C0q - 295 Heat 4 | KERAMUS GIRL (1), VIENNA (7) and HOMEBUSH JULIAN (8) were slowest to jump. HOMEBUSH JULIAN then ran inwards dictating the line of VIENNA for some distance. GORILLA ON DRUMS (9) angled outwards into the bend pushing THANKS LOUISE (5) wider. On the home turn VIENNA ran outwards sharply when looking for room with THANKS LOUISE being taken very wide and both dogs losing their chances. |
| Race 6 | Shirley Vet Clinic Sprint - C2 - 295 | MR. BLOBBY (3) was last to leave the traps. Into the bend JET TO MARS (5) and CAWBOURNE FLIPPA (6) were both badly checked and lost their chances as BIGTIME YAHOO (8) angled inwards and an improving MR. BLOBBY ran outwards. |
| Race 7 | Garrard's Horse & Hound Dash - C2 - 295 | GENISTA OUTLAW (6) and ANOTHER SNAZZA (10) came together shortly after dispatch and dropped to the rear. Into the bend TRUE CLASSIC (3) faltered and ran wide after racing in confined quarters. TRUE CLASSIC was referred to the vet for assessment. AVERSION (1) ran wide on the home turn losing some ground. |
| Race 8 | Active Electrical Christchurch Dash - C3 - 295 | HOMEBUSH CRUDEN (1) and KNOW PRIDE (7) were the slowest from the traps. Into the bend WOT PRICE CURLY (8) ran inwards badly checking ANYTIME WILL DO (6) with this pair dropping to the rear. |
| Race 9 | Sky High Scaffolding Stakes - C0 - 520 | OPAWA LEANNE (2) was very slow to jump with COURT THE BELLE (7) also sluggish from the traps. OPAWA LEANNE ran very wide on the first bend covering extra ground. COURT THE BELLE checked off the back of OPAWA PAUL (5) on the home turn and lost ground. |
| Race 10 | David Emerson Consultancy Sprint - C2 - 295 | OHOKA BLUE (3) ran outwards coming together with CAWBOURNE CLOCK (7) in the back straight and dropped to a clear last. CHIPEWYAN (4) was dragged down and lost ground into the bend when in a prominent position with OKUKU LILLY (5), WAIMAK DAVE (2) and CAWBOURNE CLOCK all being hampered as this dog gave ground. OHOKA BLUE then checked outwards off the back of WAIMAK DAVE and collided with OKUKU LILLY wide on the track. CHIPEWYAN was referred to the vet for assessment. Handler Kerry O'Connor was questioned in regards to the improvement of the winner ANOTHER BECKY. She replied that dog had come back from an illness and has experienced bad luck in recent starts. The downgrade also helped in turning the bitch's form around today and an improved run was expected with luck in the running.. |
| Race 11 | Clarkson Sign Studio Dash - C3 - 295 | VISUAL ILLUSION (5), BENNY'S ANGEL (6) and CAWBOURNE RENEE (7) were the last trio from the traps. FLY CANARY FLY (1) and BLONDE TORI (3) were both checked into the bend losing ground with BENNY'S ANGEL being forced very wide to avoid these runners. |
| Race 12 | Speight's Sprint - C3 - 295 | GEORGIE WONG (9) was last to jump from the inside. DYNAMIC BLACK (4) and FIREMAN'S ROCKET (5) were buffeted in the early stages due to pressure from either side. FIREMAN'S ROCKET ran inwards and badly checked GEORGIE WONG in the run to the bend. JUST A MATE (6) and OPAWA WALLY (7) were tightened and lost ground in the back straight. On the home turn FIREMAN'S ROCKET ran outwards checking JUST A MATE who was forced to change ground. |
