| Race 1 | Placemakers Ashburton Stakes - C1 - 520 | BOTANY KEVIN (7) was a clear last on jumping. HEAR HARE HERE (1) was checked by BOTANY PETE (3) into the first bend and ran outwards causing a slight check to KNOW FUTURE (4) in behind. As a result of this OPAWA CASSIDY (5), CHILL OUT RALPH (6) and BOTANY KEVIN were all forced wide around that bend losing ground. CHILL OUT RALPH was referred to the vet for assessment due to a minor spike wound. |
| Race 2 | Ritchie's Coachline Maiden Stakes - C0 - 520 | Prior to this race the track was upgraded to good. OPAWA LEANNE (2), OPAWA HALLY (4) and SCOTSOME POWER (6) were all slow to leave the traps. OPAWA ANNE (9) received a slight check in the early stages as MR. JIMMY (7) ran inwards. Into the first bend OPAWA LEANNE angled outwards badly checking SCOTSOME POWER (6) with OPAWA ANNE being inconvenienced. At the entrance to the back straight OPAWA ROYAL (3) checked off the heels of the pacemaking ANOTHER ANOTHER (1) and lost some momentum. |
| Race 3 | Methven Panel & Paint Ltd Stakes - C2 - 520 | BIZARRO (2) angled outwards in the run to the first bend causing some tightening to GOLDSTAR BELLA (4), OHOKA FRENCHI (5) and THRILLING SOUND (7) with this trio settling at the rear. On the home turn TEPIRITA DESIRE (3) was badly checked from behind by OHOKA FRENCHI with TEPIRITA DESIRE taking a heavy fall. OHOKA FRENCHI, BIZARRO and THRILLING SOUND all lost ground in this incident. TEPIRITA DESIRE was referred to the vet for assessment. |
| Race 4 | Taxation Solutions Ltd Sprint - C0 - 295 | STARBURST PAUL (2) and ELLIE WAVES (8) were the last to jump. CHARLIE'S PAL (4) was tightened into the bend and lost ground. On the home turn FLIRT WITH ME (1) shifted outwards marginally brushing with MAMALULU (5) for a stride. |
| Race 5 | Wal Walsh Memorial - C1 - 295 | CAWBOURNE HURDO (5) angled inwards in the back straight hampering DAMARJO (4) and LIQUORICE WHIP (3) for a stride. LIQUORICE WHIP was tightened into the bend and dropped to the rear. OPAWA RUFUS (2) angled outwards on the turn pushing CAWBOURNE HURDO over extra ground. |
| Race 6 | The Springston Hotel Dash - C2 - 295 | WANDY GAYLENE (6) crossed quickly to the rail in the early stages dictating the line of AVEC LAMOUR (5) who in turn checked TRUE CLASSIC (1). TRUE CLASSIC ran outwards in the back straight checking AVEC LAMOUR and LACHIE'S LAD (9). CAWBOURNE BURN (8) was forced wide around the bend. KENNY'S COMET (7) was checked by AVEC LAMOUR on the home turn losing ground. Soon after CAWBOURNE BURN angled inwards causing LACHIE'S LAD to be tightened and lose ground. Following the race KENNY'S COMET was referred to the vet for assessment. |
| Race 7 | Leonard Brannan Hart Memorial - C3 - 520 | WOT PRICE CURLY (10) was the last to jump. CAWBOURNE KESHA (4) ran outwards in the early stages coming together with RED TYPHOON (5) for a stride. BANBIT (2) and GIRL RACER (9) both ran wide in the back straight losing ground. |
| Race 8 | South Rakaia Hotel Sprint - C3 - 295 | The race was delayed by two minutes due to STARBURST BLANCH (5) being subjected to and passing a vet check after an incident in the kennel block. TURBO TUNDRA (2) and TEPIRITA CHARGER (3) were the last to jump. TEPIRITA CHARGER was tightened in the back straight and fell with this dog regaining his paws quickly and running to the lure. Into the bend ANOTHER BLEND (1) and TURBO TUNDRA came together when racing at the rear. |
| Race 9 | Connie Smallridge Memorial Ashburton Cup - C5 - 520 | OPAWA RAPID (8) was last to jump. RUSSELL HART (7) kept an outside line in the early stages keeping OPAWA RAPID wide on the track. GORDON BALE (1) was checked firstly by JINJARANGO (3) and then by KNOW CLASS (4) with GORDON BALE losing ground. |
| Race 10 | Christchurch Demolition & Salvage Stakes - C4 - 520 | OPAWA SWEDE (4) and OPAWA BOMB (7) were last to jump. KIN NIKKI (1) and OPAWA WEBBY (3) were tightened and checked in the run to the first bend with this pair dropping to the rear. OPAWA BOMB ran inwards on the home turn making heavy contact with the rail and dropping to the rear. |
| Race 11 | Rabbiters Rest Bistro at Springston Hotel Dash - C4 - 295 | AUSTIN WANA (2) and KNOW JEALOUSY (9) were slowest from the traps. BUGSY BANGLES (4) angled outwards into the bend pushing FIREMAN'S ESCORT (6) over extra ground. FIREMAN'S ESCORT and KNOW JEALOUSY collided on the home turn when well back. |
