Weather: Overcast
Track: Good The track was in remarkable condition considering 40mls of rain had fallen in the prior two days. A minor fault with the tractor caused a delay to Race 5 with this time unable to be made up until Race 10 due to the short time between races. The tractor was fixed during the afternoon.

Judicial report: Due to heavy snow in the Otago region Trainers Barry Healey and Dave Fahey were unable to attend the meeting.

Race 1	Central Water Carriers - C0 - 390	CHARLES FREDRICK (6) ran outwards at dispatch checking OPAWA SISTER (7) and UNO NOSEY (8) with this trio settling at the rear. CHARLES FREDRICK and OPAWA SISTER again came together into the bend. In the home straight the pacemaking OPAWA TOKEN (1) shifted to the middle of the track losing some ground.
Race 2	ASCOT PARK HOTEL DASH - C1 - 390	JOHNNY'S BLUE (1) was slow to jump. In the initial stages MIGHTY FORTUNE (9) ran outwards checking AYKROYD (7) and MATULINO (8) who settled in the rear group. MATULINO was pushed wide around the bend as MIGHTY FORTUNE continued his outward movement.
Race 3	COLORMARK SYSTEMS LTD - C1 - 390	RUMBALL AND ICE (10) was tightened soon after the jump and dropped to the rear. SHEEZA FLOWER (4) received a check into the bend and lost ground. This bitch then ran wide on the turn when attempting to recover and pushed WINSTON WHO (1) and MAX'S LAD (5) over extra ground.
Race 4	SGRC $50 LEATHER LEADS - C1 - 390	LAUDABLE (7) and BLACK OZARK (8) were the last to jump. NOISY LEO (5) ran inwards in the early stages checking RUBY'S GIRL (4) and the favourite CAWBOURNE RENEE (3) with this pair losing ground. In the home straight the pacemaking BUSINESS CLASS (1) eased and turned his head outwards. The dog was checked by the vet and found to be free of injury. This dog was suspended for 28 days under Rule 80.1.b. for failing to pursue the lure and must complete a satisfactory trial before resuming.
Race 5	100% Selectrix - C5 - 390	The start of this race was delayed by three minutes. ANOTHER COFFEE (8) was last to jump. JONNY JET (9) ran inwards in the back straight checking HOT MANGO (2) and TRICKY HARRY (1). HOMEBUSH EDITH (7) was tightened into the bend and dropped to the rear.
Race 6	SGRC $26 5 WIRE MUZZLE STAKES - C5 - 390	PRIMITIVE (8) was a shade slow from the traps. NOVA'S FORTUNE (4) shifted outwards in the initial stages checking SHUNT APPEAL (5) who dropped to the rear. On the bend PRIMITIVE angled inwards causing tightening to CAWBOURNE DUSTY (3), HOMEBUSH MAYHEM (1) and SHUNT APPEAL.
Race 7	ADDED ENERGY STAKES - C2/3 - 390	FULLA TORQUE (5) and STARBURST HANNAH (8) were the last to jump. GENISTA OUTLAW (9) ran outwards in the back straight tightening SMASH DORA (4) who dropped to the rear. RINGA DING (1) attempted to angle outwards into the bend and in performing this procedure was turned sideways accentuating the outwards movement. CAWBOURNE REEAH (2), MOLLY PAISLEY (7) and GENISTA OUTLAW were all badly inconvenienced at this stage with STARBURST HANNAH being forced wide. Soon after SMASH DORA angled outwards checking BLACK TRIGGER with MOLLY PAISLEY unable to avoid these runners and falling. BLACK TRIGGER (6) ran inwards on the turn checking CAWBOURNE REEAH and GENISTA OUTLAW when this trio were racing towards the rear. MOLLY PAISLEY was referred to the vet for assessment.
Race 8	BRENDON BURKE @ FIRST NATIONAL - C2/3 - 390	THRILLING CLOVER (2) shifted outwards marginally into the bend checking BUT IT'S GREAT (5) with NERD CORNER (4) being inconvenienced and dropping to the rear. On the home turn MARMALADE SKIES (3) angled outwards causing a check to MYRA BEE (7) who lost ground.
Race 9	WILLY'S FLOORING LTD - C4 - 390	CHARLIE'S CHOICE (6) angled inwards on dispatch contacting ANOTHER JEWEL (5) and settling last. Into the bend SOSAN (2) ran outwards checking ANOTHER JEWEL who stumbled for a stride with BOLT RAMA (3) and BLICKLING BRIDGE (4) both being hampered and losing ground in behind. ANYTIME WILL DO (1) ran wide into the bend and lost ground.
Race 10	BRUCE STIRLING DISTANCE - C1d - 630	PUKEKO EXPRESS (6) was a clear last on jumping. MAXIMUM JEWEL (5) was tightened into the first bend and lost ground. OPAWA BRO (3) ran wide into the back straight and lost some ground.
Race 11	www.southlandgreyhounds.co.nz - C1 - 457	The favourite SHALANA STAR (5) was a clear last at the jump.
Race 12	JUSTRACING.COM.AU - C2 - 390	CAWBOURNE CHIEF (7) and RAY DOSH (6) collided in the initial stages and lost ground.
Race 13	Graduation Heats - NZRSq - 457 Heat 1	WAIMAK DAVE (6) ran inwards in the back straight tightening SMASH AMEGO (3) and BANBIT (2) who dropped to the rear. OPAWA BOMB (4) was held up on the bend as SHIRAZ ROSE (8) gave ground.
Race 14	Graduation Heats - NZRSq - 457 Heat 2	OPULENT (2) and HOMEBUSH COCO (4) were tightened and came together in the early stages dropping to the rear. OPAWA STYLE (1) was tightened into the bend and lost a length. ENABLE (3) received a slight check into the bend and ran outwards pushing OPULENT over extra ground.
Race 15	Graduation Heats - NZRSq - 457 Heat 3	GRANT A WISH (2) and TAKE A TRICK (6) were last of the quintet at the jump. Into the bend BOTANY PRANCER (4) ran inwards checking DITTMAN (1) and OPAWA MARG (3) who both lost ground.
