Weather: Fine
Track: Good The 457 boxes did not open when being tested early in the day and as a result, all races from those boxes were manually started and the problem will be rectified before the next meeting. The track was well presented and the meeting proceeded smoothly and concluded on time.
Scales: Checked and correct
Health and Safety comment: Nil

Judicial report: TEPIRITA RITA who was found to be in season after racing on 29.04.13 and was stood down for 28 days under Rule 64.10 but was re presented today under Rule 82.5 and found to be not in season and the stand down was rescinded.

Race 1	Awapuni Stakes C0 - C0 - 457	The manual start was slow and the Stewards withheld authorization of payment until satisfied that no runner was affected more than any other by the box lids opening slowly. UNO CHARM shifted out going into the bend and caused checks to MARIAH and THRILLING BUTCHA who both lost ground. MARIAH shifted out on the home turn and bumped THRILLING BUTCHA who lost momentum for a couple of strides.
Race 2	Woodville Dash C0 - C0 - 375	COSMIC ZOOM went down behind soon after the start and took no further part in the race and was referred to the Vet for assessment. ADDIS MATE was checked going into the bend, went back to last and finished in that position.
Race 3	J P Print Petone C1 - C1 - 375	QUEEN ROWDY shifted in abruptly from the start and caused checks to MERELY A DREAM and HOME BREWER which both lost five lengths. GENIAL led in the early stages but drifted and finished in last place and was referred to the Vet for assessment.
Race 4	Manawatu Raceway Sprint C1 - C1 - 375	MARJANSHAR shifted in from the start and caused crowding and checks to RED HOT DUTCH, FLAYOSC, LAUGH LIKE SANTA and HOMEBUSH RICK with RED HOT DUTCH being the most affected and he went back to the rear. AYKROYD shifted in going to the first corner and made contact with the rail and he then checked off the heels of NINA BE GOOD with both dogs losing ground. AYKROYD was referred to the Vet for assessment and cleared of injury.
Race 5	Peter Sinclair Photofinish C1 - C1 - 375	BLUE RUSH was slow to begin losing two lengths. FLYING BLAKE was hampered on the bend but recovered to win the race narrowly. The Stewards were concered that FLYING BLAKE may have turned its head in the home straight but this could not be confirmed by the poor quality viideo and no further action was taken. PREFONTAINE shifted out on the home turn and forced DOGGED DAN, OPAWA BLACK and BLUE RUSH a little wide. IZZY DAGG led on the bend but was observed to ease and then eased again in the home straight and finished in 2nd place. IZZY DAGG was examined by the Vet and a 12 day stand down was recommended due to a pectoral muscle injury but under Rule 80.1 b, IZZY DAGG was stood down for 28 days for failing to pursue the lure throughout and is required to complete a satisfactory trial under Rule 81.1 before next racing.
Race 6	Marton Stakes C1 - C1 - 457	ASHER was slow to begin losing two lengths. CAWBOURNE BREE checked off the heels of INNER BEAUTY going into the bend and shifted out causing checks to COVER TO COVER and ARMISTICE DAY which both lost ground.
Race 7	Feilding Sprint C2 - C2 - 375	CHELSEAS BABE began awkwardly and CAWBOURNE BROOKE then shifted in and bumped with CHELSEAS BABE and they both settled at the rear and stayed back for the remainder of the race.
Race 8	Foxton Stakes C1/2 - C1/2 - 457	BOTANY COMET was slow to begin and stayed back throughout the race. BULET TOOTH TONY shifted in from the start and hampered THRILLING AVA and BOTANY MOLLY for a couple of strides. JUST MAC shifted in soon after the start and caused checks to KANGO KLINK, CAWBOURNE STARS and SHODSIE who all lost ground.
Race 9	www.racingdogs.co.nz C2 - C2 - 375	RAMESSEE checked off the heels of SHEEZA MEESHA going into the bend and lost ground. LITTLE MIDNIGHT checked off the heels of SHANGHAI SAM on the bend and went back onto HOMEBUSH COLT who lost four lengths and finished last. SHANGHAI SAM was leading at the time and also lost four lengths in the incident .
Race 10	Shannon Dash C3 - C3 - 375	HOMEBUSH ALEX shifted in from the start and hampered ERUZA who was unbalanced for a couple of strides. WHAT A PEANUT shifted in going to the first corner and this resulted in bumped with GONE AWOL and MISS FOLEY with all three losing three lengths and they stayed back for the remainder of the race.
Race 11	Cloverlea Sprint C4 - C4 - 375	All clear.
Race 12	Ashurst Dash C5 - C5 - 375	CALL ME RALPH was slow to begin losing three lengths but then looped the field to win well. WISE CRACK LAD shifted out from the start and JENNINGS shifted in and this resulted in those two dogs and CHEMICALLY FREE and DARLEK KHAN jostliing together for several strides. DARLEK KHAN suffered the most in the incident and went back to last. WISE CRACK LAD checked over the heels of TILT YOUR GLASS on the bend , shifted out and forced CHEMICALLY FREE wide and they both covered extra ground.
Race 13	Happy Birthday Carol Morris C3 - C3 - 457	THRILLING TREMOR was held up for a few strides behind OKUKU DREAMER on the bend and lost ground. RUN JUNIOR RUN who was following then moved up inside THRILLING TREMOR but became awkwardly placed, checked over the back of THRILLING TREMOR and ran wide losing ground and finished in last place.
Race 14	Bunnythorpe Stakes C4/5 - C4/5 - 457	RETALIATE FIRST was slow to begin losing three lengths but he then made up ground very well to finish in 3rd place.
