| Race 2 | Sergio @ Stud Stakes - C1 - 457 | EUREKA IZMIR was slow to begin losing three lengths. BUBBLE OSTEE was checked on the first corner and went back to the rear. CLOVER APPEAL and GHOST WRITER bumped together entering the home straight and became unbalanced for a couple of strides. |

| Race 7 | NZ Derby Heat 1 - R/Aq - 457 Heat 1 | Tightening going into the first corner resulted in several runners being inconvenienced and WAYLEGGO and LINCOLN FLYER being severely checked with WAYLEGGO being the most affected and he lost several lengths. |
| Race 8 | NZ Derby Heat 2 - R/Aq - 457 Heat 2 | TAKE NO PRISONERS, THRILLING LOGIC and BIGTIME JET jostled together for several strides in the race to the first corner and they settled at the rear. BIGTIME JET and THRILLING LOGIC recovered to finish in 4th and 5th places but TAKE NO PRISONERS suffered the most from the incident and finished in last place. |
| Race 9 | NZ Derby Heat 3 - R/Aq - 457 Heat 3 | COSMIC MACK and KNOW CLASS were slow to begin losing two lengths. MAKINEN and BEE RABBIT jostled together soon after the start and settled back in the field.. BEE RABBIT, MAKINEN and THREAT jostled together going to the first corner and they all lost further ground and the chance of a first four placing. |
