| Race 2 | SOUTHLAND & OTAGO PHOTO FINISH - C0 - 457 | CAWBOURNE ZAC was last to jump with OPAWA CARLOS drifting to the rear in the early stages. POISED BOY checked off the back of RED TYPHOON on the bend and lost ground with CAWBOURNE ZAC unable to avoid this runner as he lost ground. POISED BOY fell in this incident as CAWBOURNE ZAC was forced to hurdle him. OPAWA CARLOS was hampered at this stage. POISED BOY and CAWBOURNE ZAC were both referred to the Vet for assessment. |
| Race 3 | BRENDON BURKE @ FIRST NATIONAL - C1 - 390 | HILTON FRIDAY crossed the face of the field soon after the jump and caused tightening to all runners except GLENN IS GOODSEY and HARES HOPING. FOGGY STORM angled off the rail in the back straight causing a slight check to STARLA who lost a length. |
| Race 4 | 100% SELECTRIX - C1 - 457 | CHARLIE'S CHOICE and CAWBOURNE KESHA came together for a stride soon after the jump. BONE NERD angled outwards into the bend causing some inconvenience to CHARLIE'S CHOICE and the favourite JINJA POWER with this pair being forced a shade wide. |
| Race 5 | HAPPY BIRTHDAY JEAN ANDERSON - C2 - 390 | ANOTHER JEWEL was a clear last on jumping. ARKADEN and LYNNY SOUTHCOMBE were both tightened into the bend and lost ground with MIGHTY FORTUNE being hampered in behind these runners. SLIGHTLY AMAZING ran wide into the home turn before running on well for third. |
| Race 6 | WILLY'S FLOORING LTD - C2 - 457 | This race and the following race were put back two minutes at the request of Raceday Control. SMASH AMEGO and CAWBOURNE PHILIP were the last to jump. Into the bend OPAWA NO EAR angled inwards coming together with CAWBOURNE PHILIP with these two favoured contenders losing ground. On the bend SMASH AMEGO checked off the heels of ANOTHER STAR with OPULENT running very wide to avoid this pair. |
| Race 7 | COLORMARK SYSTEMS - C3 - 390 | RAY DOSH and CAWBOURNE HEIDI were the last pair from the traps. MAGIC YOU shifted outwards in the early stages causing MISS SWEET and RULE JUDGE JUDY some inconvenience. Into the bend an improving RAY DOSH came together with SHIRAZ ROSE with both dogs losing momentum. |
| Race 8 | ADDED ENERGY - C2/3 - 457 | STARBURST CLEMMY ran inwards in the back straight and tightened BOTANY COMET who dropped out to a clear last. BOB'S EYE also checked outwards off the back of STARBURST CLEMMY and lost a length. |
| Race 9 | www.southlandgreyhounds.co.nz - C4 - 390 | ANOTHER COLT and TURBO TUNDRA were the last to exit the traps. THUNDA THIGHS and ANYTIME WILL DO came together for a stride in the early stages. ANYTIME WILL DO then angled outwards making contact with TURBO TUNDRA who was turned sideways for a stride and lost ground. On the bend WATERHOUSE checked off the back of BUT IT'S GREAT and lost momentum. |
| Race 10 | HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRIS BOYD - C4/5 - 457 | BLACK EMILY was fractious in the boxes and missed the jump settling last. ANOTHER BREEZE was tightened by CAWBOURNE KIM into the bend and lost ground with NEW YORK AFFAIR and UNSHAKEN being held up for a few strides in behind. |
| Race 11 | Colin Gray Memorial Invercargill Cup - C5 - 457 | MAMAJA was the last to jump. DYNA FRIER shifted up the track in the back straight coming together with ATTIRE. DYNA FRIER continued to move outwards hampering ATTIRE for some distance. Into the bend DYNA FRIER checked outwards off the back of MAMAJA and again checked ATTIRE. |
