Track: Good After the recent very heavy rain, the track the day prior to the meeting was extremely wet and there was some doubt as to whether the meeting could be held. However the weather cleared and the track dried out and the meeting proceeded without problems.

Race 1	Absolutely Electrical C0 - C0 - 305	JAMIE BAXTER was very slow to begin losing four lengths. STEEL BELT attempted and eventually did marr SARAH'S COOL for some distance in the home straight, was examined by the Vet and cleared of injury and was stood down for 3 months for a 2nd offence under Rule 80.1 a and is required to complete a satisfactory trial before next racing. The Trainer advised the Stewards that STEEL BELT will not be persevered with as a racing proposition.
Race 2	Harrison Hire Master C0 - C0 - 305	JAGER shifted in from the start and hampered AMY WINEGLASS and BLACK HENNESSY who both lost ground. JAGER shifted in on the first corner and hampered ANOTHER PIZZA who lost a little ground. BLACK HENNESSY shifted in going to the first corner and checked CAWBOURNE BREE who made contact with the rail losing four lengths and she was referred to the Vet for assessment. AMY WINEGLASS shifted out going into the bend checked SECTIONED and BRAVE PHOENIX who were forced wide and lost ground.
Race 3	Guthrie Bowron C0 - C0 - 520	BILLY HOLMES and CAWBOURNE ZAC were slow to begin losing three lengths. SUMMER TENSION shifted in going to the first corner and was galloped on by CAWBOURNE ANNA and both dogs almost fell. Several strides further on, BILLY HOLMES shifted out and checked BELLDEEN who fell. BELLDEEN and CAWBOURNE ANNA were referred to the Vet for assessment and both were cleared of injury.
Race 4	J P Print, Petone C0 - C0 - 305	SECONDS GOOD, WAIMAK DAVE and TARRYNS PRIDE were slow to begin with TARRYNS PRIDE in particular losing several lengths. MATILDA'S BABE shifted in from the start and caused checks to RENE RANGER, RINGA DING, WORKING CAMARADE and SECONDS GOOD who was the most affected and she lost several lengths and finished well back. WORKING CAMARADE shifted out going into the bend and interfered with the chances of RINGA DING, RENE RANGER and MATILDA'S BABE. RENE RANGER recovered the best of the three and finished in 3rd place.
Race 5	Crombie Lockwood (NZ) Ltd C0 - C0 - 305	GREEN TREATS and GERARD HAKA were chec ked and lost ground when racing at the rear on the first corner. PREFONTAINE checked over the heels of RUTHLESS on the bend and shifted out forcing WHITE LEGS wide into the straight.
Race 6	Gary Ross Decorator C1 - C1 - 305	LYNNY SOUTHCOMBE escaped from the Handler for a brief period but was quick;ly captured and was examined by the Vet and cleared fit to race. The collar was examined and found to be in reasonably new and good condition but with a faulty stud and so no action was required. SEDGEBROOK LAD was slow to begin losing two lengths. LYNNY SOUTHCOMBE shifted in going into the bend and checked DOGGED DAN who went back onto DOWNEY and they both lost ground and stayed back to finish in the rear group.
Race 7	Wanganui Security C1 - C1 - 520	HEROISM went up with the box lids and lost two lengths. RED HERRING was handy in 2nd place in the early and middle stages but began to drift on the final bend and finished in last place. RED HERRING had been racing in sprints lately and may not have seen out todays distance of 520 metres but was referred to the Vet for assessment as a precaution and cleared of injury.
Race 8	Palamountains Nutrition C1 - C1 - 305	NUTS FOR SURE and LIQUORICE WHIP were slow to begin losing two lengths. BLAIR NINETY shifted in going to the first corner and took the line of GUS THE MUSS who had to check losing four lengths. SEDGEBROOK SKITE and DOLLY WIND shifted in going into the bend and closed the gap on LIQUORICE WHIP who checked and then ran wide on the bend and stayed back to finish in last place.
Race 9	Mickey's Super Liquor C1 - C1 - 305	DON'T CALL ME was a little slow to begin and lost a length. SCARILICIOUS was checked losing four lengths soon after the start and she stayed back to finish in last place. ANOTHER STREET was checked and lost two lengths going into the bend.
Race 10	Keenan Concrete C1 - C1 - 520	TWIN TIGERS galloped on the back of MRS BOUQUET going into the first bend and shifted out and was hit from behind by FLYING REBEL, went down behind and was classed as falling. FLYING REBEL also lost several lengths and all chance in the incident. TWIN TIGERS was referred to the Vet for assessment and cleared of injury.
Race 11	Broad Roofing C1 - C1 - 305	HOMEBUSH NOS and OTEWA BELLA were slow to begin losing three lengths. MISTER WHISKER was checked from behind going into the first corner when OTEWA BELLA moved through on the inside and they both lost four lengths.
Race 12	The Rock 95.2FM C1 - C1 - 305	General tightening in the race to the first corner resulted in checks to CRYSTAL WAVE, WORKING WORKING, HOMEBUSH CRUDEN and KIWI RANGER who all lost a little ground. SEONG DUK shifted out on the bend and checked FLOSSY HAKA who went back to last and finished in that position.
