Race 1 Otago First4 Maiden Sprint - C0 - 310 RUNS LIKE AL was 2.9kgs down on his last race weight in November with this being a planned reduction. TEPIRITA TUITEKA was slow to jump and BLUE SHORTS was away awkwardly going down on his nose after a couple of strides and dropping out to a clear last. ZAHRA was keen to shift up the track in the back straight causing her to be checked and lose ground.
Race 2 Blue Bubble Dunedin Taxis Stakes - C0 - 545 GO PATCH and KNOW FAULT were both slow from the traps. Into the first bend SECRET NICOLE angled outwards coming together with WAGON WHEEL who lost ground. GO PATCH then ran wide to avoid WAGON WHEEL pushing TOP PLAYER outwards on to UNO NOSEY who fell. Into the back straight an improving KNOW FAULT touched the rear end of GO CARTER who became unbalanced for a stride and lost momentum.
Race 3 Speedprint Shop Stakes - C1 - 545 INDI'S GRACE and PUKEKO EXPRESS were the last to jump. INDI'S GRACE was tightened into the first bend. On the first bend NEW INGILLTAB came together with NEW INGILLTAB losing ground. Into the back straight HEAR HARE HERE and CALM SPIRIT bumped and lost momentum.
Race 4 www.greyhoundsaspets.org.nz - C1 - 310 SLIGHTLY AMAZING ran outwards in the early stages causing tightening to a number of runners the worst affected being TEKOA, RUMBALL AND ICE and HAZZA'S LAD. RANDY OUTSIDE was also tightened at this stage. CANVAS RIDER angled inwards on the bend checking TEKOA on two occasions.
Race 5 Brocklebanks Dry Cleaners Sprint - C2 - 310 NO LANE was last to jump with ANOTHER JEWEL also settling well back. FULLA PRIDE checked off the back of SMASH AMY on the bend and pushed CAWBOURNE PLUNGE wider. NO LANE ran wide on the home turn looking to improve.
Race 6 Brian Bagley Driver Licensing Stakes - C1 - 545 The favourite BONE NERD and MOON AND SEA were the last from the traps. WANDY MATT angled outwards into the first bend pushing MISS OZARK wider with these two runners dropping to the rear. BONE NERD was tightened at the end of the back straight when attempting to improve into a gap on the inside of WYNDHAM who ran inwards and closed that gap. BONE NERD never recovered from this check finishing well back.
Race 7 Dave Robbie Photographer Stakes - C1/2 - 545 NOGGIN shifted outwards on dispatch coming together with BABY JAMES for a stride. The favourite OVER BID ran inwards into the first bend coming together with PARTY ROCK and falling. BARNABY BALE was forced wide to avoid the fallen dog. Soon after PARTY ROCK ran inwards and checked BABY JAMES who lost ground. OVER BID was injured in the fall and referred to the Vet for assessment.
Race 8 St Kilda Veterinary Clinic Sprint - C3 - 310 ANOTHER COLT was a clear last at the jump. VITALIZE ran inwards in the back straight badly checking TURBO TUNDRA with these runners losing their chances. BENNY'S ANGEL checked off the back of COT CASE CUTIE for a stride on the home turn and lost a length.
Race 9 Roofing Solutions Stakes - C3 - 545 PUKEKO FLYER was last to jump and checked off runners in the early stages losing more ground. He did well to make ground for third. The favourite KNOW CHAOS checked off BIG TOKEN into the first bend on two occasions losing momentum. KNOW CHAOS made ground late for fifth after these initial checks. KNOW PERIL checked off the back of BIG TOKEN on the home turn losing ground.
Race 10 C B Norwood Farm Machinery Stakes - C4/5 - 545 BOTANY COMET was tightened in the early stages and dropped to the rear. MAGIC LASS was tightened into the first bend and lost ground. WONNIE WONDER ran wide into that first bend also losing ground. Authorisation of third placing was withheld until such time that Stewards had the opportunity to view the photo-finish and confirm that placings were correct as called.
Race 11 Roofing Solutions Sprint - C4 - 310 TIE MY TIE and WATERHOUSE were the last to jump. ANOTHER BREEZE appeared to flick the rail with his back leg into the bend and lose a length. The Trainers of the winner SORRY VANDERFORD were questioned in regards to the improved performance of their dog. They replied that a downgrade from Class 5, the inside draw and the return to Forbury were all factors in today's success.
Race 12 Racing Again Tuesday 5th February Dash - C5 - 310 HOMEBUSH SARGE rolled inwards into the bend tightening SOSAN who lost ground and in turn tightened ICEBERG RAPPER who dropped out to the rear.
