Track: Good It was discovered during the day that due to pressure on the lids of the starting boxes some bolts had sheared off and others loosened. This was as a result of the springs being retensioned during the week and this had placed extra pressure on the lids. The club's mechanical engineers corrected this problem with some tension being released and the boxes being rechecked after every race. In the interests of safety for all participants all races from Race 7 were delayed by one race in order for these corrections to be made.

Race 1	Otago First4 Maiden Sprint - C0 - 310	MAX'S LAD was the last to jump. STARLA ducked out in the early stages checking WAIMAK DAVE for a stride. WAIMAK DAVE then ran inwards causing tightening to QUIET SNORT, MAX'S LAD, SHEEZA FLOWER and BLUE SHORTS who all lost ground and their chances.
Race 2	Roofing Solutions Stakes - C0 - 545	CANDY BELLE shifted down the track in the run to the first bend. SECRET NADIA ran inwards into the first bend severely checking FERGIE'S BELLE and CANDY BELLE. FERGIE'S BELLE fell with CANDY BELLE running outwards and pushing OPAWA MOHAWK extremely wide around that bend. FERGIE'S BELLE regained his paws and completed the race with the veterinary surgeon finding no abnormalities after his check.
Race 3	Blue Bubble Dunedin Taxis Stakes - C1 - 545	AUTUMN SPIRIT and KNOW HONOUR were the last to jump. KNOW REVENGE and MISS OZARK raced in tight quarters along the inside into the first bend. The favourite JINJA POWER checked off an improving KNOW HONOUR at the end of the back straight and lost some momentum. On the home turn LIZZYLICIOUS came together with AUTUMN SPIRIT when these dogs were racing towards the rear.
Race 4	Speedprint Shop Sprint - C1 - 310	BLACK OZARK stumbled at the start and settled last. In the run down the back straight WANDY MATT ran inwards tightening MOREPORT SHANNON with WANDY MATT being dragged down and dropping to the rear. A post race veterinary check of WANDY MATT revealed no abnormalities.
Race 5	www.greyhoundsaspets.org.nz - C2 - 310	JIMMY CEE angled inwards at the jump dictating the line of CAWBOURNE CATCH down on to FOGGY STORM and BLACK TRIGGER who lost ground. STAR GUN checked off the outside of HOMEBUSH COCO into the bend and lost ground. Soon after the favourite CAWBOURNE CATCH was held up when attempting to improve to the inside of HOMEBUSH COCO who had shifted inwards with CAWBOURNE CATCH losing momentum. STAR GUN then angled inwards on the home turn again hampering CAWBOURNE CATCH for a stride.
Race 6	CB Norwood Farm Machinery Stakes - C2 - 545	CALM SPIRIT and the favourite SRETROR were the last to jump. SRETROR made ground well for second. MORNING WATCH angled inwards at the jump checking CALM SPIRIT for a stride.
Race 7	Roofing Solutions Stakes - C3 - 545	This remainder of the programme was put back one race due to the problems with the starting boxes. FLYING MOE was last to jump. THRILLING SOUND received a slight check from behind by OPAWA BOMB into the first bend and lost momentum. FLYING MOE ran outwards and covered extra ground on the first bend.
Race 8	Brian Bagley Driver Licensing Sprint - C3 - 310	EXCESSIVE SPEED was last to jump with SEA SPRAY TICH and JACK'S FIRST coming together as they left the traps. MINI'S FANTASY ran outwards coming together with BUT IT'S GREAT in the early stages. ANOTHER COFFEE checked off the back of SEA SPRAY TICH into the bend and then collided with EXCESSIVE SPEED with these kennelmates dropping to the rear.
Race 9	Brocklebanks Dry Cleaners Stakes - C3/4 - 545	DYNA GROLL ran inwards in the early stages checking TAKE NO PRISONERS. CYNTHIA BAXTER then ran outwards coming together with KNOW ATTEMPT and losing ground. Into the first bend OKUKU DREAMER was tightened and went back on TAKE NO PRISONERS with OKUKU DREAMER then running outwards pushing KNOW ATTEMPT over extra ground. CYNTHIA BAXTER dropped to the rear in the back straight and finished last with a post race veterinary check revealing some cramp but no apparent abnormalities with no stand down being imposed. Trainer John McInerney assured Stewards that he would be thoroughly checking the dog over before her next engagement on Thursday.
Race 10	St Kilda Veterinary Clinic Stakes - C5 - 545	FEAR GO was slow from the inside and KNOW WHICH was tightened soon after the jump and settled last. KNOW CLASS checked off the back of ADMIRE into the bend and lost a length. Into the back straight FEAR GO checked outwards off the back of WODSTON BOBO and collided with KNOW WHICH which fell. KNOW WHICH came into contact with the outside fence and failed to complete the journey with a post race veterinary check revealing a sore back with a ten day stand down being recommended.
Race 11	Merry Christmas Sprint - C4 - 310	This race was further delayed by two minutes due to an inquiry at the Invercargill harness meeting. DECADO was last to jump running home smartly to grab third. NATALIA BALE ran outwards in the back straight checking SANTA SLOY who lost ground. SANTA SLOY then dropped right out with a post race veterinary check revealing no apparent injury. Trainer Deane Stapleton informed Stewards that he would monitor the dog and take him back to the trials before resuming.
Race 12	Racing Again 8th January Sprint - C5 - 310	WISE WONDER and AS FAR AS were the last to jump. AS FAR AS checked off the back of WISE WONDER into the bend and dropped to the rear.
