Health and Safety comment:

Judicial report: Trainer David Kingston was fined $100 as per the Minor Infringements Table after admitting a breach of Rule 69.11 after WANDY JEWEL weighed in 1.8 kgs under her last race weight on 9 November. A severe bout of kennel cough is affecting dogs in the South Island with a number of scratchings affecting today's card.

Race 1	Otago First4 Maiden Sprint - C0 - 310	CAPUA was a shade slow from the inside. LEAH BELLE ran inwards in the back straight and made heavy contact with the rail dropping right away. A post race veterinary check revealed a cut to her hind foot with a ten day stand down recommended. On the home turn CAWBOURNE SPEAR angled inwards and checked kennelmate HOMEBUSH CRUDEN who lost ground.
Race 2	www.greyhoundsaspets.org.nz - C0 - 545	PUKEKO EXPRESS was last to jump with WAGON WHEEL also settling well back. UNO GREEN checked off the back of ZAHRA into the first bend and ran wide with ZAHRA losing ground.
Race 3	Roofing Solutions Sprint - C1 - 310	JOHNNY'S BLUE and ARE TEE MAY came together on the home turn when well back.
Race 4	Speedprint Shop Sprint - C2 - 310	WYNDHAM was a clear last to jump from the inside trap. FULLA TORQUE checked off WANDY GAYLENE in the early stages and lost some momentum. AUSSIE HAKA and FULLA TORQUE josted for some distance in the back straight. Into the bend WANDY GAYLENE angled outwards as TOWER was heading for the rail with TOWER losing his footing and falling. Soon after WANDY GAYLENE checked off WANDY JEWEL and lost her chance. Stewards requested veterinary checks of WANDY GAYLENE and TOWER with both dogs being cleared of any injuries.
Race 5	CB Norwood Farm Machinery Stakes - C1 - 545	In a very ordinary dispatch INDI'S GRACE, MOON AND SEA, HEROISM and JINJA JAM were all slowly away with HEROISM clipping the back of INDI'S GRACE in the initial stages. Into the first bend OPAWA NO EAR checked outwards off the back of OPAWA SIR and contacted MOON AND SEA and MISS OZARK with these dogs losing ground. On the home turn the favourite OPAWA NO EAR was held up behind runners and only received clear space in the final stages finishing a close fourth. INDI'S GRACE was also held up on the home turn before pushing MOON AND SEA outwards and losing some momentum.
Race 6	Roofing Solutions Stakes - C2 - 545	HOMEBUSH WILD angled outwards in the early stages tightening NOGGIN who dropped to the rear. Into the first bend SHADOW WOLF ran inwards causing PUKEKO FLYER to check outwards resulting in OKUKU SURPRISE and CALM SPIRIT to run very wide around that bend losing many lengths and their winning chances.
Race 7	Blue Bubble Dunedin Taxis Sprint - C1 - 310	NEW YORK AFFAIR was the last into stride. RAY DOSH shifted down the track into the bend coming together with NEW INGILLTAB who in turn checked his kennelmate MOREPORT SHANNON who lost many lengths and his chance. A post race veterinary check of MOREPORT SHANNON revealed no abnormalities. PICK THE TIP the favourite angled wide on the home turn losing some ground.
Race 8	Forbury Maiden Sprint Final - C0f - 310	FALSE STEP jumped outwards for a stride checking GRANT A WISH who then checked STARBURST BLANCH with GRANT A WISH settling last. REDIAL received a slight check into the bend and lost ground.
Race 9	Brocklebanks Dry Cleaners Stakes - C3 - 545	FEAR GO was last to jump. WONNIE WONDER and SRETROR both received some tightening in the early stages as BLACK EMILY ran inwards. On the first bend the favourite SRETROR ran inwards coming together with KNOW PERIL and received a severe check losing his chance and hampering ANOTHER COURSE who also lost his chance. ARCHIE'S JET was also inconvenienced at this stage when racing at the rear. Post race veterinary checks of SRETROR and ANOTHER COURSE revealed no abnormalities.
Race 10	Brian Bagley Driver Licensing Stakes - C4 - 545	TAKE NO PRISONER was very slow from an outside trap. NO UNDIES SUNDY angled outwards into the first bend pushing OPAWA COLLAR, TAKE NO PRISONER and CYNTHIA BAXTER very wide with FELIXSTOWE being hampered in behind these runners.
Race 11	Green Island Barber Shop Sprint - C2 - 310	CAWBOURNE HEIDI was the last to find her paws. OKUKU BOBO was tightened between runners on the home turn and dropped to the rear.
Race 12	Dave Robbie Photographer Sprint - C3 - 310	The favourite EXCESSIVE SPEED was the last to jump from his inside trap. Into the bend TEPIRITA TIKI ran inwards and tightened EXCESSIVE SPEED who was attempting to improve along the rail with EXCESSIVE SPEED dropping to the rear. On the home turn DRIVE FIVE angled inwards coming together with STAR GUN with DRIVE FIVE then running outwards checking BUT ITS GREAT who lost ground. EXCESSIVE SPEED was shunted wide in this incident.
Race 13	St Kilda Veterinary Clinic Stakes - C5 - 545	MAMAJA and SHUNT APPEAL were the slowest from the traps. These two runners then came together on the first bend and lost ground.
Race 14	Happy 23rd Birthday Sarah Mclaughlin Sprint - C5 - 310	HAUKO and ANOTHER GON settled at the rear. SORRY VANDERFORD ran inwards into the bend checking SOSAN who lost ground.
Race 15	Green Island Super Liquor Sprint - C4 - 310	GENISTA OUTLAW was the last to jump. PURE AND SPECIAL and KNOW ESCAPE jostled for position for some distance in the back straight and again on the home turn. DYNA BROWNLOW checked off the back of JUST A MATE on the bend and lost ground. KNOW ESCAPE pushed ICEBERG RAPPER wide on the home turn as KNOW ESCAPE was improving. ICEBERG RAPPER then ran inwards coming together with GENISTA OUTLAW for a stride.
Race 16	Racing Again Tuesday 18th December Sprint - C4 - 310	MUSTARD FUDGE was very slow to jump and then ran wide in the back straight. HEZA SENSATION ran inwards and came together with GOTTA FIND BUBBA with these two runners then running wide and losing their chances.
