Track: Good The track was very well presented and the equipment functioned well throughout the programme.

Judicial report: PUPPET MASTER was stood down for 28 days under Rule 80.1 b for failing to pursue the lure throughout in Race 2 and is required to complete a satisfactory trial under Rule 81.1 before next racing.

Race 1	NZRS Novice C0 - C1 Ht1 - NZRSq - 457 Heat 1	MAJMA raced onto the back of HELLO ELLO going to the first corner and was checked losing five lengths and went back to last and never made up the lost ground. HELLO ELLO was also hampered in the incident but recovered to win the race.
Race 2	NZRS Novice C0 - C1 Ht2 - NZRSq - 457 Heat 2	LACHIE'S LAD weighed in 2.4 kilograms above its last start weight which was over 2 months ago and the increase in weight was intentional. SHARKIES DREAM was one of the slowest to begin but made up ground well to win . LACHIE'S LAD shifted in soon after the start and hampered PUPPET MASTER and EXCITED ROYAL for a couple of strides. EXCITED ROYAL checked over the heels of MAXI'S MATE on the bend losing two lengths. PUPPET MASTER was observed to be racing in clear room going to the first corner but eased for no apparent reason losing several lengths and he stayed back to finish in last place. PUPPET MASTER was examined by the Vet and a 10 day stand down with a pectoral muscle injury was recommended but PUPPET MASTER was stood down for 28 days under Rule 80.1 b for failing to pursue the lure and is required to trial .
Race 3	NZRS Novice C0 - C1 Ht3 - NZRSq - 457 Heat 3	OPAWA MIATA shifted out from the start and inconvenienced HOMEBUSH LACEY and TALK BACK and they settled back . TALK BACK shifted out going into the bend and collided with HOMEBUSH LACEY with both dogs losing several lengths and they stayed back to finish in the rear group.
Race 4	NZRS Novice C0 - C1 Ht4 - NZRSq - 457 Heat 4	DARBY LANE and ANOTHER GUNNA collided going into the bend and both lost ground. MR LOCHLYN and ARCHIES DOLL who were just behind also checked at the same point and they also lost ground.
Race 5	NZRS Novice C0 - C1 Ht5 - NZRSq - 457 Heat 5	SHES COMING was handy going to the first corner but was checked and went back to the rear. ANOTHER SNAZZA checked off the heels of OPAWA NO EAR on the bend losing three lengths and he finished in last place.
Race 6	NZRS Novice C0 - C1 Ht6 - NZRSq - 457 Heat 6	SHAGA BANGA BANG checked off the heels of TEPIRITA JAZIL on two occasions soon after the start. SHAGA BANGA BANG , HOMEBUSH MELL and TEPIRITA JAZIL were checked going into the bend losing ground and they stayed back to finish in the last three places.
Race 7	NZRS Novice C0 - C1 Ht 7 - NZRSq - 457 Heat 7	OPAWA SWEDE shifted in from the start and hampered VERY CHILLY for a couple of strides. SQUEEZER was a little slow to begin but made up ground well to finish in 2nd place. VERY CHILLY checked off the heels of KOTUMBA and lost ground on the bend.
Race 8	Foxton Dash C4 - C4 - 375	PIN UP PUPPY, THRILLING HALO and FLYING JOJO were slow to begin losing three lengths. TRENDY KNOCKAS shifted out approaching the home straight and forced WEE DIGER wide onto FLYING JOJO'S line and they both lost ground and finished in the last two places.
Race 9	Manawatu Raceway Stakes C4 - C4 - 457	GIRL ROSEY was slow to begin losing two lengths and she then raced wide over extra ground on the bend and finished in 6th place.
Race 10	Sparky's Bar and Restaurant C5 - C5 - 375	OPAWA COLLAR shifted in from the start and inconvenienced ROQETTE who settled back in the field. CHELSEAS BEAUTY made contact with rail on the bend and shifted out to bump with ROQETTE with both losing ground and they finished at the rear. CHELSEAS BEAUTY was examined by the Vet as a precaution and cleared of injury.
Race 11	NZRS Graduation Final - NZRSf - 457	SALUTE TO RADAR shifted in and hampered BACKYARD BULLY and OPAWA JED for a couple of strides at the start. BULET TOOTH TONY shifted out going to the first corner and dictated the line of SALUTE TO RADAR and OPAWA STYLE for several strides. BACKYARD BULLY and SALUTE TO RADAR were checked and lost several lengths on the bend and they went back to the rear and stayed there to the finish.
Race 12	Peter Sinclair Photo Finish C5 - C5 - 457	FANCY TIP was tightened between WALK DA TORQUE and RYBENBROOK FLASH when the start was made and lost ground. FANCY TIP then raced wide covering extra ground and finished in 6th place.
