| Race 1 | www.southlandgreyhounds.co.nz - C0 - 390 | SMASH AMY, OPAWA WOLF and SEE SPOT RUN were all tardy at the start. OKUKU MUPPET shifted up the track in the early stages and into the bend losing ground. EASY SILENCE ran inwards and jostled with DIXIE QUEEN for some distance with both of these dogs losing ground. SMASH AMY was hampered in behind these runners. EASY SILENCE fell as a result of this jostling regaining her paws and finishing the race with superficial grazing to her left hind leg being found although no stand down was considered necessary. |
| Race 2 | COLORMARK SYSTEMS LTD - C1 - 390 | NOISY LEO was last to jump. MARMALADE SKIES and BLACK OZARK came together for a stride in the early stages with FROGGY NEWITT being tightened at this stage. FROGGY NEWITT then angled inwards into the bend checking NOISY LEO who lost ground. On the bend WHAT A DUMP ran outwards pushing BLACK OZARK and ZIGGY WAR PAINT over extra ground. |
| Race 3 | 100% SELECTRIX - C1 - 390 | ANOTHER JEWEL was a clear last on jumping. She did well to get up for fourth. LIFE WITH DEXTER checked outwards off WANDY FEATHER into the bend and lost ground. WANDY FEATHER angled inwards into the bend tightening JIMMY CEE, OPAQUE and JET TO MARS who became awkwardly placed on her inside. LIFE WITH DEXTER was then forced wide to avoid these runners. |
| Race 4 | CENTRAL WATER CARRIERS - C1 - 457 | CANVAS RIDER ran inwards in the early stages making firm contact with kennelmate BIZARRO with CANVAS RIDER dropping out to a clear last. He remained there throughout with a post race veterinary check revealing painful thigh muscles with a ten day stand down recommended. CALM SPIRIT wanted to run outwards in the back straight to obtain clear racing room and in doing so checked BIZARRO for a stride. SERAPHINE JEWEL ran wide into the bend and lost many lengths. |
| Race 5 | ADDED ENERGY - C1 - 457 | AYKROYD and MOON AND SEA were the last from the traps. WANDY PAUL ran inwards into the bend with MISS OZARK and OPAWA BART falling and RAY DOSH being severely checked and losing his chance. The veterinary surgeon inspected the two fallers. OPAWA BART sustained a sore left shoulder with a ten day stand down recommended while MISS OZARK was stood down for seven days with a sore triangle muscle. |
| Race 6 | Mervyn Eade Memorial Rookie Run Heats - C0q - 457 Heat 1 | BILLY BRAND angled inwards as MATULINO ran outwards in the early stages resulting in OPAWA CHANCE being tightened. Into the bend MATULINO ran outwards losing ground. He ran on well in the straight for third. OPAWA CHANCE was checked on the bend as SECRET NICOLE ran inwards with OPAWA CHANCE dropping to the rear. |
| Race 7 | Mervyn Eade Memorial Rookie Run Heats - C0q - 457 Heat 2 | BENDALLS BOY missed the jump settling last. He made ground stylishly for second. OPAWA NIKO and HOMEBUSH CRUDEN came together soon after the start. Into the bend BE PREPARED and HOMEBUSH CRUDEN collided for a stride. BE PREPARED and GOLDSTAR BELLA both ran wide on the home turn and lost ground dropping to the rear. |
| Race 8 | Mervyn Eade Memorial Rookie Run Heats - C0q - 457 Heat 3 | RUNS LIKE AL and WAIMAK DAVE were the slowest to jump in an ordinary dispatch. The favourite GRANT A WISH got on the heels of ZOE BRAND on the bend when running into the race and lost some momentum. He recovered to run into second. |
| Race 9 | WILLY'S FLOORING LTD - C2 - 390 | DONT CALL ME was tightened along the rail into the bend and then ran outwards pushing CAWBOURNE REEAH and FOGGY STORM wider on the track. DONT CALL ME was checked post race with no abnormalities being detected. |
| Race 10 | SOUTHLAND & OTAGO PHOTO FINISH - C2 - 457 | PUKEKO FLYER and OKUKU SURPRISE were the last to jump. PUKEKO FLYER, FANCY SPICE and BOTANY MOLLY all had their chances extinguished when they were badly checked into the bend. FANCY SPICE was checked by the veterinarian post race with no abnormalities being detected. |
| Race 11 | BRENDON BURKE @ FIRST NATIONAL - C3/4 - 457 | DYNA DIEGO, NO LANE and CRIXUS all came together in the initial stages and dropped to the rear. SHIRAZ ROSE received a nasty check into the bend and lost ground sharply checking HOMEBUSH IRIS who also lost ground. Into the bend DYNA DIEGO ran inwards contacting NO LANE who lost a few lengths. |
| Race 12 | justracing.com.au - C4 - 390 | MUSTARD FUDGE was last to jump. FANTA ALERT ran inwards as she raced for the lead in the early stages tightening ANOTHER BECKY and ANYTIME WILL DO. These two runners were then badly sandwiched between runners into the bend and dropped to the rear with MUSTARD FUDGE who was forced wide to avoid them. |
