Judicial report: Due to the waterlogged and muddy nature of the grassed area handlers were given permission to tuck their pants inside their gumboots.

Race 1	Super Pets Dash - C0 - 295	TALK IT OVER was very slow to jump. KENNYS COMET ran outwards in the early stages checking JUNIOR WHAT for a few strides. Into the bend OPAWA BEN was tightened along the inside losing ground and appeared to come into contact with the rail dropping to the rear. A post race veterinary check of OPAWA BEN revealed no obvious abnormalities.
Race 2	controlinsulation.co.nz Sprint - C0 - 295	PANCHO PISTOLES and BENDALLS BOY were the slowest into stride. BILLY MUGGINS angled inwards inconveniencing NEED MARMITE for a stride in the early stages. On the bend NEED MARMITE checked off the back of INNER BEAUTY with BENDALLS BOY, BILLY MUGGINS and ROLLEM UP JOANY all being forced wide and losing their chances. On the home turn NEED MARMITE and PANCHO PISTOLES came together along the inside losing momentum.
Race 3	$20,000 Terminating Turbo Pick 6 Leg 1 Stakes - C0 - 520	RICH LIST and KNOW THOUGHT were the slowest to jump. In the early stages both OPAWA WIN and RICH LIST both showed tendencies to run outwards with these two runners getting tangled up into the first bend and losing their chances. They tailed the field thereafter with post race veterinary checks revealing no abnormalities. On the home turn MR. DOZER angled outwards coming together with OPAWA SIR for a stride.
Race 4	Borat At Stud Sprint - C1 - 295	HOMEBUSH GRETA was hard to box in this event. RUNWAY QUEEN ran inwards soon after the jump checking HOME TRUTH and OHOKA BLUE. Into the bend OHOKA BLUE ran inwards and struck the rail with this dog faltering and not completing the race. The veterinary surgeon reported that OHOKA BLUE had suffered a deep gash to its upper left front leg with the wound being sutured. A 28 day stand down was recommended.
Race 5	Carol's T.A.B Sprint - C3 - 295	Prior to this event the track was upgraded to good. WAZZA FREEBIE was a clear last on jumping. Into the bend KNOW LOVE AFFAIR and HOMEBUSH BORIS were both badly tightened along the inside with HOMEBUSH BORIS hitting the rail and dropping to the rear. A post race veterinary check revealed no injury. On the home turn OKUKU LILLY and HOT SHOT LAWYER came together and lost momentum.
Race 6	Coalgate Tavern Dash - C0 - 295	CALL ME RALPH was last on jumping. CHASE THE STARS ran outwards in the early stages hampering ARMOUR and JAY CEE HURT for some distance. Soon after CALL ME RALPH angled outwards when improving pushing CHASE THE STARS and ARMOUR wider. Into the bend ARMOUR angled inwards tightening CHASE THE STARS who fell with ARMOUR losing his chance at this stage. A post race veterinary check of CHASE THE STARS revealed shoulder soreness with a ten day stand down recommended.
Race 7	David Emerson Consultancy Stakes - C1 - 520	OHOKA ASHLEY and SECRET NADIA were tightened into the first bend and lost ground along the inside. Wider out TAKE A TRICK and FUNNY MONEY came together for a stride. The favourite TAKE A TRICK was caught three wide throughout with this effort taking its toll over the concluding stages and the dog tiring to finish fifth.
Race 8	Sky High Scaffolding Dash - C1 - 295	OHOKA GERRY was last to jump from the outside. MIGHTY MONICA ran inwards tightening OHOKA ZOE and OPAWA FLYER who lost ground. Further on down the back straight PEARLS BOY ran outwards checking VALENTINES DAY and MIGHTY MONICA. As VALENTINES DAY was losing ground she tangled with OPAWA FLYER with these runners dropping to the rear. A post race veterinary check of VALENTINES DAY returned a clean bill of health.
Race 9	Active Electrical Christchurch Sprint - C1 - 295	RADAR SHIRAZ was the last to jump from the outside. This dog was never travelling kindly and dropped out to finish a long last with a post race veterinary check revealing a triceps muscle injury with a 21 day stand down recommended. OHOKA HART, BOTANY NANA and OPAWA STEVE were tightened in the early stages. Into the bend OHOKA HART angled inwards checking BOTANY NANA and OPAWA STEVE with these three runners again losing ground.
Race 10	Little Brown Jug Stakes - C1 - 520	HAMPDEN SPIRIT came up with the lids and settled last. The favourite SRETOR was caught wide into the first bend and then dragged down by DUKE OF FERN losing momentum. SRETOR ran on late for third. At the end of the back straight OPAWA PATCH crossed to the rail and tightened BOTANY COMET and AXEL GRINDER with LIFES GREAT receiving the backwash in behind these runners and losing ground.
Race 11	CGRC & OTB Awards Dinner 25/08 Sprint - C1 - 295	GUNS ON FIRE and the favourite NO LANE were the last to jump. NOISY LEO angled outwards into the bend tightening TWISTER AL, OPAWA STU and OHOKA SANDY. GUNS ON FIRE dropped away finishing 25 lengths from the winner with a post race veterinary check revealing no injury. Trainer John McMillan was advised that an improved performance is expected from this dog at its next start.
Race 12	Speight's Dash - C2 - 295	DONT CALL ME was a clear last on jumping. PRINCELY DOLLAR checked off runners on the home turn losing momentum before running on well for third.
