Race Number Race Name Incident Report
Race 1 Absolutely Electrical C2 - C2 - 305 The two favourites OPAWA PRINCE and KINETIC NEO were the slowest to begin but made up ground well to finish in 1st and 3rd places. Another of the better supported runners THRILLING LYRIC drew box 8 and was forced to race wide over extra ground and finished well back.
Race 2 Harrison Hire Master C2 - C2 - 305 SEDGEBROOK LEE jumped in the air as the start was made losing ground but ran on well to finish in 2nd place. BACK AT YA began awkwardly and settled at the rear and she then checked off the heels of MISTER WHISKER going to the first corner and then checked off the heels of FAWN ALLEGRO on the bend and finished in last place. MISTER WHISKER and FAWN ALLEGRO bumped together at the start losing momentum and they settled well back.
Race 3 Guthrie Bowron C2 - C2 - 305 TUI HOTLIPS and NELLY FLAHERTY jumped on terms with the other runners but were checked soon after losing three lengths and they stayed back to finish in the rear group.
Race 4 Crombie Lockweood (NZ) Ltd C2/3 - C2/3 - 520 KAZILLION shifted in from the start and collided with BIG GIRL WELSHY and they settled well back and stayed there throughout the race to finish in the last two places.
Race 5 J.P Print Petone C3 - C3 - 305 COOL EXPLORER and SEDGEBROOK ELITE both began awkwardly and settled well back. CABOURNE TOBES jumped well enough but drifted back soon after and finished the race several lengths last. He was examined by the Vet and stood down for 10 days with tricep muscle pain.
Race 6 Palamountains Nutrition C4 Feature - C4 - 520 FREDDY JOHN, REALON ROSE, BULET TOOTH TONY and BIGTIME KAREN bumped together for a couple of strides soon after the start and BIGTIME KAREN and BULET TOOTH TONY settled at the rear. They bumped together again on the first corner and BULET TOOTH TONY suffered the most and stayed back to finish in last place. REALON ROSE was checked entering the back straight losing three lengths.
Race 7 Mickey's Super Liquor C4 - C4 - 305 PIN UP PUPPY began awkwardly losing ground and he then bumped with WATERBUG and settled back in the field and stayed there to the finish. NIP TUCK, OPAWA SACHA, EMMA MARIE and AUSTIN WILD jostled together for several strides in the run to the first corner and lost ground. EMMA MARIE recovered the best of those involved in the incident and she went on to win the race.
Race 8 Broad Roofing C4 - C4 - 305 LACHLAN VALLEY and RIBA LORDA were slow to begin losing three lengths. SHEEZA MEESHA was handy going into the first corner but became awkwardly placed and lost ground when avoiding the heels of VICKIS QUEST and was then tightened when SLANGEVAR shifted in and was galloped on by HOMEBUSH SARINA and dragged down. HOMEBUSH SARINA also lost several lengths and all chance in the incident. SHEEZA MEESHA was examined by the Vet and stood down for 5 days with superficial bruising and grazing.
Race 9 Wanganui Security C5 - C5 - 305 ROADMANS SHACK shifted out sharply soon after the start and collided with EVER SO HOPEFUL forcing that runner wide. SANDS OF TIME collided with CIAO FOR NOW going into the bend and SANDS OF TIME was checked, going back onto ELLYS GIRL and they lost several lengths and all chance in the incident.
Race 10 Keenan Concrete C4/5 - C4/5 - 520 COOL IZMIR was a little slow to begin and settled well back. There was general tightening on the first corner and SURFING AL, OOH LA COOL and COOL IZMIR were forced wide going into the bend and lost ground. One of the favourites THREE INCH NAIL who had been subjected to severe interferance in his two most recent starts and had finished at the rear, received a clear run today to win well.
Race 11 Gary Ross Decorator C5 - C5 - 305 IMA SPICE shifted in going to the first corner and checked GLENADDIS and CAWBOURNE TANK and they went back to the rear and stayed well back to the finish.
Race 12 The Rock 95.2FM C5 - C5 - 305 MOODY MAN was the slowest to begin and settled at the rear. STUMPY KASHKOW checked off the heels of SASSAFRAS going into the first corner and went back and out checking MOODY MAN and DONKEY DEEP with all three losing ground and they stayed back to finish at the rear. SASSAFRAS and LEADFOOT LENNY collided on the home turn and LEADFOOT LENNY was forced wide and lost momentum for a couple of strides.
