Track: Dead The track was in excellent condition given the rain that has fallen recently. The lure performed reliably throughout the programme.

Race 1 CENTRAL WATER CARRIERS WELCOME - C1 - 390 WHAT A DUMP was last to jump from the outside. RAY DOSH ran outwards into the bend contacting the rear of STARBURST HANNAH with both dogs losing ground.
Race 2 ADDED ENERGY SPRINT - C1 - 390 The favourite NEON NEUTRON was awkwardly away and settled a clear last. WANDY MATT was badly tightened and lost ground into the bend as TURBO TUNDRA ran outwards with NEON NEUTRON and FROGGY NEWITT being checked wider out.
Race 3 justracing.com.au - C0 - 390 MATULINO and SHEEZA FLOWER were both slow to jump with SHEEZA FLOWER also stumbling and losing further ground. A post race veterinary check of SHEEZA FLOWER of revealing soreness in the hindquarters with a five day stand down recommended. Trainer Richard Breen informed Stewards that the dog would be sent for a brief spell. MATULINO ran outwards into the bend pushing HANNAH over extra territory with both dogs losing ground. HANNAH was noticed making ground late in the race.
Race 4 BRENDON BURKE @ FIRST NATIONAL - C0 - 457 OPAWA JAKE was a clear last at the jump. BIZARRO angled inwards in the early stages checking GOLDSTAR BELLA who lost ground. ZAHRA was handy early and then ran outwards contacting OPAWA SIR with ZAHRA then drifting back through the field to finish last. A post race veterinary check of ZAHRA revealed triceps pain with a ten day stand down recommended.
Race 5 Ascot Park Run Heats - C2q - 457 Heat 1 BOTANY MOLLY was badly tightened in the early stages and dropped to the rear. The favourite KNOW THOUGHT was handy into the bend but checked off RULE JUDGE JUDY and ran wide losing ground. He ran on fairly finishing fifth under 4 lengths from the winner. A post race veterinary check revealed no abnormalities. Trainer Garry Cleeve expressed disappointment at the run although did state that it was the dogs first look at Ascot Park and should improve with the experience. His comments were noted.
Race 6 Ascot Park Run Heats - C2q - 457 Heat 2 BLACK EMILY and PUKEKO FLYER were the last from the traps. The hot favourite SPACE RACE settled third and ran on well for second only a neck from the winner.
Race 7 Invercargill Step Up Heats - C1q - 457 Heat 1 MERELY A DREAM was last to jump. UNO ORANGE and MERELY A DREAM came together on the home turn when well back. The hot favourite MOULIN BLUE raced handy throughout battling well for third in her first run on the track.
Race 8 Invercargill Step Up Heats - C1q - 457 Heat 2 OPAWA STEVE was a clear last on jumping. OPAWA CHARLIE was desperate to shift outwards in the early stages causing checks to WANDY GAYLENE and OVER BID with WANDY GAYLENE dropping to the rear.
Race 9 Invercargill Step Up Heats - C1q - 457 Heat 3 OPAWA MIATA came up with the lids and settled a long last with KNOW LIES also slow to jump. ANOTHER BECKY and GRANT A DOLLAR came together with both dogs losing ground. GRANT A DOLLAR stumbled and lost more ground soon after dropping to the rear. A post race veterinary check of GRANT A DOLLAR revealed no apparent abnormalities. Josh Lane the part-Trainer of the winner MONTY DOSH was questioned in regards to the improved performance of this dog. He said that he was very pleased with his last run given that the 545m distance at Forbury is a shade too far and today's distance suited the dog much better.
Race 10 S.I. Multi-Track Sprint Championship Heats - C4/5q - 390 Heat 1 On the home turn RED LABEL PENNY ran outwards badly checking her kennelmate ANOTHER GON with KNOW TRUST being badly inconvenienced in behind these runners. These three runners lost their chances at this stage.
Race 11 S.I. Multi-Track Sprint Championship Heats - C4/5q - 390 Heat 2 WOT PRICE CURLY was a shade slow to jump. HOMEBUSH EDITH angled inwards into the bend causing tightening to JONNY JET, JUST A MATE and JENNINGS with these runners all losing ground. IONA HAKA checked off the back of HOMEBUSH EDITH on the home turn and lost her position.
Race 12 S.I. Multi-Track Sprint Championship Heats - C4/5q - 390 Heat 3 RUSSELL HART was the last to jump. TRICKY HARRY and SPEED TO SUCCEED were both checked into the bend and lost ground. NATALIA BALE and KNOCK EM came together for a stride on the bend and lost some momentum enabling ENFLAME to get around to the lead. WANDY CHICK ran outwards on the bend checking an improving favourite RUSSELL HART who lost some ground.
