Track: Good The track was well presented and with 15 races was kept well groomed throughout the meeting which proceeded smoothly. The meeting was the first day that the new Grandstand was in full use and is an impressive facility which generated a large number of complimentary comments.

Race 1	Absolutely Electrical C0 - C0 - 305	JOHNNY WAGTAIL shifted out approaching the home straight and forced INTENSE ZOOM wide on the track and they finished in the last two places.
Race 2	Harrison Hire Master C0 - C0 - 305	ABSOLUTE REALITY was slow to begin losing three lengths but went forward quickly to be midfield on the first corner. He then went off stride and drifted back and finished in 6th place and was examined by the Vet and cleared of injury. CANVAS RIDER shifted in going to the first corner and caused a chain reaction of tightening which resulted in EZY AS and THIRSTY SHAYNE being checked and losing several lengths and they finished at the rear.
Race 3	Guthrie Bowron C0 - C0 - 305	SEDGEBROOK LAD and ANOTHER SNAZZA collided and lost ground going into the bend and they stayed back to finish in the rear group.
Race 4	Crombie Lockwood C0 Final - C0f - 305	HIGH FLY HUNTER and FACE THE DEMON collided when the start was made and they lost a little ground. SEDGEBROOK SKITE shifted out going into the first turn and this resulted in checks to itself and also BIGTIME DRIFTER, FACE THE DEMON and ANOTHER FANTASY and they lost three lengths and finished in the last four places.
Race 5	Palamountains Nutrition C0 - C0 - 520	SHES COMING and ANOTHER GUNNA bumped together going to the first corner and lost ground and they settled near the rear. KIWI RANGER, ALAMEIN JAH and BIZARRO bumped together going into the first bend when leading the field and they lost ground with ALAMEIN JAH the most affected and he went back to near the rear and never recovered. CLUAIN MEALA was also affected in the incident as ALAMEIN JAH went back through the field.
Race 6	Wanganui Security C1 - C1 - 305	HOMEBUSH JEM shifted in going to the first corner forcing PINTA GUINNESS and HOME BREWER in onto ARCHIES TOKEN who made contact with the rail and fell. ARCHIES TOKEN was examined by the Vet and found to have suffered a foreleg injury and is now to be retired.
Race 7	Mickeys Super Liquor C1 - C1 - 520	MERELY A DREAM, BELLE CADEAU and GO BOOF jostled together soon after the start and they lost ground and settled at the rear.
Race 8	Broad Roofing C1 - C1 - 305	IMPERATIVE was slow to begin losing two lengths but made up ground well to finish in 2nd place. HOMEBUSH ALEX shifted in going into the bend and TENKAY DOWN galloped on his heels and checked losing three lengths.
Race 9	J P Print, Petone C0D - C0d - 645	OPAWA COLLAR shifted out soon after the start and dictated BIG GIRL WELSHY onto the line of JUST MAC who was checked. BIG GIRL WELSHY shifted in on the final bend and checked JUST MAC who lost three lengths.
Race 10	Keenan Concrete C1 - C1 - 520	SAPPHIRE PHOENIX and ROLLEM UP JOANY were checked soon after the start when runners drawn further out shifted in and they settled at the rear. SHADOWS MATE shifted in on the first corner and checked ROLLEM UP JOANY and SAPPHIRE PHOENIX and they all lost ground and stayed back to finish in the last three places.
Race 11	Gary Ross Decorator C1 - C1 - 305	KINETIC NEO and BOLT RAMA were slow to begin losing two lengths. KINETIC NEO made up ground well to win the race but BOLT RAMA suffered a check and lost ground on the bend when BUT ITS GREAT was checked and came back onto BOLT RAMA and he finished in 4th place.
Race 12	The Rock 95.2FM C1 - C1 - 305	JAFFA GUN began awkwardly losing four lengths. He then struck the rail in the home straight when racing at the rear and was examined by the Vet and AGENT JORGE shifted in on the first corner and checked HOMEBUSH SCOTTY who lost ground and stayed back to finish in 2nd last place.
Race 13	Happy Birthday Alan Trass C2 - C2 - 305	OPAWA WILD and ELKI shifted out from the start but were clear and did not cause interferance. HOMEBUSH HELLS shifted in from the start and inconvenienced NAEVIA and MATTI OAH for a couple of strides.
Race 14	Box 9 Catering C2 - C2 - 305	YALDHURST EDWARD shifted in going to the first corner and checked DYNAMIK SPIRIT who lost two lengths. YALDHURST EDWARD checked over the heels of LEGEND BEE on the home turn and shifted out forcing DONT CALL ME wide over extra ground.
Race 15	Renown Bakery C2 - C2 - 305	The favourite RUN STACEY RUN began awkwardly and lost ground and she lost further ground on the first corner when checking off the heels of BOTANY MOLLY and she finished in 5th place. CAWBOURNE STEFFI checked off the heels of MY BAD JONNY going into the bend and lost ground. NO LANE raced wide throughout covering extra ground but kept up a strong run to finish in 3rd place.
