The favourite TAKE A TRICK contacted KENNYS COMET on the first bend losing momentum. When TAKE A TRICK reached the rail KENNYS COMET checked off the back of him and lost ground. |
| Race 2 | I Pave Concrete Sprint - C0 - 295 | KIOWA SUE and IMA SINGER were slow to jump. NITRO MABEL and NOISY LEO came together soon after the start. NOISY LEO checked off the back of SADDLEBACK PATCH on the turn and lost ground. IMA SINGER ran wide into the bend and dropped out to finish last with a post race veterinary check revealing no abnormalities. The connections of this dog were advised that a better performance would be expected at its next appearance. |

PHANTOM HAKA angled outwards in the run to the bend pushing CHASE THE STARS out on to the favourite JET EVEN who lost ground. On the bend JET EVEN ran outwards checking BENDALLS BOY who dropped to the rear. |
| Race 4 | Little Brown Jug Sprint - C1 - 295 | ELUSIVE DEEJAY the favourite angled outwards soon after the jump tightening WAZZA FREEBIE and TOTALLY CONFUSED. Into the bend OHOKA GERRY ran outwards with TWISTER AL, ELUSIVE DEEJAY and WAZZA FREEBIE all being inconvenienced. Warren Smith the co-trainer of the winner OHOKA GERRY could offer no explanation in regards to his improved performance stating that the dog has only been in their care for three weeks. He did add that that the dog was stirred up today and was boxed with the field having previously been a box first dog. |
| Race 5 | Kolorful Kanvas Dash - C1 - 295 | SLIGHTLY AMAZING was a clear last at the jump. FUR PATROL was badly checked into the bend when attempting to get to the outside with this runner dropping to the rear. RIZZ AROUND, HOMEBUSH ACE and ARE TEE MAY were also inconvenienced in this incident. On the home turn GEORGE BAXTER was momentarily tightened and lost momentum. |
| Race 6 | Borat At Stud Stakes - C1 - 520 | LINE HONOURS and BANK ROLLER dwelt at the start. PAROLE TO EXCEL received a slight check into the first bend as MISS FIT crossed him from wider out. |

On the home turn the pacemaking SYRIPS GIRL ran outwards coming together with OHOKA HART for a stride and losing some momentum. OHOKA HART ran inwards in the run to the line. |
| Race 8 | Active Electrical Christchurch Dash - C1 - 295 | UNO JAG was the last to jump. SYDENHAM SAM ran inwards in the initial stages checking OHOKA ZOE and DANCING NORRIS. On the home turn LADY IN SHADES ran wide losing ground in the process. |
