Race 1 Absolutely Electrical C0 - C0 - 305 PARTY ROCK, ALL IN ALL and ANOTHER GUNNA were slow to begin and they stayed back throughout the race. ZACCARA was handy in 3rd place entering the home straight but drifted over the final few strides and finished in 6th place. He did not seem comfortable in his action, was examined by the Vet and stood down for 28 days with a torn tricep muscle.
Race 2 Harrison Hire Master C0 - C0 - 305 RANDY OUTSIDE shifted in from the start and checked FLAYOSC who lost ground and settled at the rear but then secured a nice clear run through on the rail to finish in 2nd place. HOMEBUSH JULIE was handy to the lead going into the bend but shifted out causing a check to GERARD HAKA who lost several lengths and went back to last and stayed well back for the remainder of the race.
Race 3 Guthrie Bowron C0 - C0 - 520 ARCHIES DOLL and QUIET SNORT were slow to begin losing three lengths. CANVAS RIDER was checked on the first bend and went back causing checks to ARCHIES DOLL, GOLDSTAR BELLA and QUIET SNORT and they all lost ground. ARCHIES DOLL and GOLDSTAR BELLA recovered the best of the four to finish in 3rd and 4th places.
Race 4 Crombie Lockwood (NZ) Ltd C0 - C0 - 305 CIRCLE OF LIFE who had not started for severasl months weighed in 4.0 kilograms over its last start weight and when questioned the kennel representative stated that this was an intended increase and the dog was passed fit to start by the Vet. CIRCLE OF LIFE shifted in from the start and collided with HOMEBUSH INDIA who was turned sideways losing several lengths and she tailed the field throughout. HOMEBUSH INDIA was examined by the Vet and stood down for 14 days with shoulder bruising and wrist pain.
Race 5 J P Print, Petone C1 Ht1 - C1q - 305 Heat 1 The start was delayed by 2 minutes at the request of Raceday Control. IMPERATIVE was slow to begin but made up ground well to finish in 4th place. CANDYS DANDY and UNTEACHABLE collided when racing at the rear of the field on the first corner and they lost several lengths and finished at the rear. UNTEACHABLE appeared to be slightly lame following the race and was examined by the Vet and cleared of injury.
Race 6 Palamountains Nutrition C1 Ht2 - C1q - 305 Heat 2 OUR REBEL GIRL was handy on the first corner but was checked and she went back to the rear and stayed there to the finish. CULVIE CORGI drew the outside box and stayed very wide throughout and finished in last place.
Race 7 Mickeys Super Liquor C1 - C1 - 520 This race was started 2minutes late at the trequest of Raceday Control. FLYING REBEL, THATS KING and DELUSIVE were all a little slow to begin and settled at the rear. THATS KING was checked on the first bend losing further ground and finished in 6th place.
Race 8 Broad Roofing C1 Ht3 - C1q - 305 Heat 3 BLAIR NINETY was crowded adjacent to the rail on the first corner losing four lengths and as he dropped back, NAEVIA, MRS BOUQUET and THRILLING CLOUD were inconvenienced and lost ground and they finished in the last four places.
Race 9 Wanganui Security C1 Ht4 - C1q - 305 Heat 4 WORKING WORKING shifted in from the start and checked SALVADOR BALE who lost three lengths. EUNUCHS LUCK was handy to the lead on the first corner but was checked and went back onto HOMEBUSH COCO and WORKING WORKING and they lost several lengths and finished at the rear.
Race 10 Keenan Concrete C1 - C1 - 520 OPAWA STU began awkwardly losing four lengths but made up ground well to finish in 3rd place. BIG TOKEN, FULLA TORQUE and FALSE IMPRESSION came together going into the first bend losing several lengths and they stayed back to finish in the rear group.
Race 11 Gary Ross Decorator C1 Ht5 - C1q - 305 Heat 5 The favourite BIGTIME JET was the slowest to begin but recovered quickly to make up ground and win the race.
Race 12 The Rock 95.2FM C1 Ht6 - C1q - 305 Heat 6 BIGTIME LATTE and FURIOUS RESPONSE were very slow to begin losing several lengths and all chance. RON BAXTER shifted out from the start and checked RED HOT DUTCH who lost a little ground and she stayed well back for the remainder of the race.
