Incident Reports

Race Number Race Name Incident Report
Race 1 Otago First4 Maiden Sprint - C0 - 310 KNOW LIES and MANAPOURI were the last to jump. INDIS GRACE ran inwards at the jump coming together with BELFAST CHUKKA with that runner dropping to the rear.
Race 2 St Kilda Veterinary Centre Sprint - C1 - 310 The favourite TURBO TUNDRA was the slowest to jump from the inside with GRANT A DOLLAR also tardy from wide out. HOME BREWER ran inwards in the back straight checking REAL SLIM SHADY who dropped to the rear. RUNWAY QUEEN angled outwards into the bend and came together with NEON NEUTRON with both dogs losing momentum and GRANT A DOLLAR being pushed wide.
Race 3 CB Norwood Farm Machinery Sprint - C0 - 310 SEE SPOT RUN and NEW INGILLTAB were the slowest from the traps. Into the bend ZAHRA angled outwards coming together with the favourite WANDY MATT who was shifting down the track with both runners losing ground. WANDY MATT again checked off the back of ZAHRA soon after with NEW INGILLTAB receiving a check and losing ground.
Race 4 www.greyhoundsaspets.org.nz - C3 - 545 PUKEKO FLYER was a clear last on jumping. WHITE AIR angled outwards into the first bend checking OPAWA BOMB who was pushed wide and lost ground. INISHRUSH was a clear leader until the home turn when he shortened stride narrowly holding on to third placing. A post race veterinary check of INISHRUSH revealed severe cramp with no stand down recommended. Stewards contacted co-trainer Dave Fahey in regards to the performance of INISHRUSH. Mr Fahey confirmed that this was the dog's second run since a lengthy spell and a tough middle-distance run at Forbury proved to be his undoing. He informed Stewards that the dog would not be nominated for a 545 metre race on this track in its immediate starts.
Race 5 Roofing Solutions Sprint - C1 - 310 OKUKU CRACKER ran inwards soon after the jump severely tightening ANOTHER COLT who fell. A post race veterinary inspection of ANOTHER COLT revealed no abnormalities. Into the bend AUSSIE HAKA ran outwards tightening WANDY DEVIL who lost ground.
Race 6 Brian Bagley Driver Licensing Sprint - C2 - 310 HARES HOPING was the slowest to jump. MONTY DOSH ran outwards in the early stages coming together with GEORGIE LEE who lost ground. MONTY DOSH continued his outwards movement into the bend with BLACK TRIGGER the victim on this occasion with BLACK TRIGGER dropping to the rear.
Race 7 Roofing Solutions Stakes - C1/2 - 545 OPAWA RAPID was the last to jump. BAKE BEAN BETTY checked off MORNING WATCH into the first bend and lost ground. OKUKU SURPRISE and OPAWA RAPID came together for a stride on the home turn.
Race 8 Blue Bubble Dunedin Taxis Sprint - C1 - 310 SMASH AMEGO missed the jump and settled last. SALUTE TO RADAR was badly tightened in the initial stages as BLACK OZARK ran inwards and LIFE WITH DEXTER ran outwards. LIFE WITH DEXTER was checked into the bend and dropped to the rear. On that bend MIGHTY MONICA was checked from behind by SALUTE TO RADAR and lost momentum and her chance.
Race 9 Speedprint Shop Sprint - C2 - 310 MIGHTY FORTUNE was awkwardly away settling a clear last. JOHNNIE GEORGE angled inwards in the early stages dictating the line of KNOW LOVE AFFAIR for some distance. Into the bend the favourite SMASH DORA ran outwards and was checked by STAGS INGILL with both runners losing momentum. Wider out SLIGHTLY AMAZING ran outwards pushing kennelmate COT CASE CUTIE over extra ground on that bend.
Race 10 Blue Bubble Dunedin Taxis Stakes - C1 - 545 AUTUMN SPIRIT, MOON AND SEA and CROSSFIRE MAX were all a shade slow from the outside boxes. CALM SPIRIT ran outwards on the home turn and lost ground.
Race 11 Brocklebanks Dry Cleaners Sprint - C3 - 310 BLICKLING BRIDGE was the last to emerge from the inside trap. The favourite JAZZY JET was handy into the first turn but covered extra ground and weakened out to finish sixth. Trainer Alan Williams told Stewards that he was not disappointed with the run considering she was up in grade and that this was her first look at Forbury. He considered that she would improve immensely with the experience.
Race 12 Graduation Final - NZRSf - 545 SEA SPRAY DORIS was tightened soon after dispatch settling at the rear. BOTANY MOLLY was crossed by JINJARANGO and SPACE RACE into the first bend and lost ground running wide into that bend. OPAWA JED angled wide into that first bend and pushed SEA SPRAY DORIS over extra ground when that runner was attempting to improve.
Race 13 Dave Robbie Photographer Sprint - C5 - 310 Due to a clerical error the weight of NOBLE ENFORCER was incorrectly shown on the TAB website as 2.2 kgs under his last race weight. The correct weight was announced to the public prior to the race. WOT PRICE CURLY was the last to jump. ANOTHER BREEZE crossed the face of the field in the early stages causing considerable tightening to WANDY CHICK, JENNINGS, KNOW TRUST, HOMEBUSH CRAIG and KNOCK EM the favourite. KNOCK EM then checked off the back of WANDY CHICK into the bend and lost some momentum.
Race 14 GO OTAGO Dash - C5 - 310 KNOW ADVANTAGE was keen to shift outwards in the run down the back straight causing tightening to ANOTHER RAEWYN, SANTA SLOY and OKUKU WEE MAN with these runners all losing ground.
Race 15 Racing Again Next Tuesday Sprint - C4 - 310 This race was delayed by two minutes due to the lateness of an Australian harness event. TEPIRITA TIKI was the last to jump. GENISTA LIGHTNIN and VISUAL ILLUSION came together on several occasions in the back straight losing ground. ANOTHER STAR checked off runners on the home turn and lost momentum. GENISTA TORNADO was tightened and lost ground tailing off in the event looking very awkward in his action. A post race veterinary check revealed no obvious abnormalities. The connections informed Stewards that they would monitor the dog's well-being in the coming days and report to Stewards of any findings. They were advised that a veterinary certificate of fitness would need to be produced before this dog's next race.
