Race 1 Super Pets Sprint - C3 - 295 WANDY OLIVIA, WAZZA FREEBIE and BLACK PAN were the slowest from the centre boxes. In the back straight WAZZA FREEBIE ran inwards coming together with WANDY OLIVIA with both dogs dropping to the rear.
Race 2 controlinsulation.co.nz Sprint - C4 - 295 GOTTA FIND BUBBA and the favourite TEPIRITA RITA were slow to jump. Into the bend SOSAN checked off the pacemaking ETCHED IN STONE and lost momentum. Wider out GOTTA FIND BUBBA ran outwards pushing TEPIRITA RITA wide with both dogs losing their chances.
Race 3 Thursday Place Pick Dash - C3 - 295 NATALIA BALE angled outwards checking ANOTHER DRIZZLE in the early stages. HOMEBUSH BORIS then ran inwards inconveniencing ANOTHER DRIZZLE and NATALIA BALE for a few strides. Into the bend NATALIA BALE was crowded as ANOTHER DRIZZLE angled to the rail with both runners losing ground.
Race 4 I Pave Concrete Stakes - C3 - 520 OPAWA RAPID and TAKE NO PRISONER were the last to jump. RUN RILEY RUN wanted away from the rails in the early stages coming together with SHOULD BE CARLOS on several occasions. KNOW CLASS checked off BLACK EMILY on the first bend and lost some momentum.
Race 5 Murray @ Ray White Ph.021480250 Dash - C5 - 295 KNOW MISTAKE was the slowest from the traps. FOUR BY TWO ran inwards in the back straight causing checks to a number of runners inside him namely COOL CHARMER, CALLAHAN and KNOW MISTAKE. On the bend KNOW MISTAKE and FOUR BY TWO were held up by the weakening ROMBERG LASS losing ground.
Race 6 Sky High Scaffolding Distance Feature - C2d - 645 THRILLING SOUND was the last to jump. ARCHIES JET ran outwards in the early stages checking AWESOME BENDER. Into the first bend THRILLING SOUND ran outwards pushing LAGOON BEACH BOY and AWESOME BENDER wider. At the end of the back straight the lure slowed with the leading dog getting within a couple of metres of it. This was caused by a break in the rail with this being rectified before the next race. Placings were authorised after it was established that no dogs were substantially inconvenienced by the closeness of the lure.
Race 7 Shirley Veterinary Centre Sprint - C4 - 295 This race was delayed by two minutes due to the rail being checked for breaks. THRILLING CLOVER ran inwards sharply in the early stages with BENNYS ANGEL, WISE WONDER and FINGER POP all losing ground as a result. Into the bend WISE WONDER was badly checked as STARBURST SUZIE angled inwards with WISE WONDER dropping to the rear. BENNYS ANGEL ran outwards on the home turn checking STARBURST SUZIE when both runners were at the rear. The favourite KNOCK EM was checked and lost momentum on three occasions as he tried to cross runners before finally getting to the rail. He then weakened out to finish fourth with a post race veterinary check revealing no abnormalities.
Race 8 Garrard's Horse & Hound Dash - C5 - 295 OKUKU WEE MAN was the last to jump. On the home turn CAWBOURNE MOFF ran outwards and marred the running of DYNA BROWNLOW. Kennel representative Kerry O'Connor viewed the video and admitted the charge with the dog being stood down for three months as this is the second indiscretion under Rule 80.1.a. In the shadows of the post PRETTY GOOD ran inwards and checked DIXIE LEE who lost ground narrowly holding on to its second placing. A post race veterinary check of DIXIE LEE revealed no injury.
Race 9 David Emerson Consultancy Stakes - C4/5 - 520 KNOW WHICH angled outwards in the early stages checking ANOTHER DOLLAR who lost ground. Soon after ADMIRE crossed the face of the field with ATTIRE, ANOTHER DOLLAR and KNOW WHICH all receiving checks. KING OF CLUBS then angled outwards with WODSTON BOBO and ANOTHER DOLLAR losing ground. Into the first bend KING OF CLUBS checked off the back of ANOTHER DOLLAR. On the home turn KNOW WHICH and ATTIRE came together when racing in midfield. KING OF CLUBS was found to have a laceration to his elbow with a six day stand down recommended.
Race 10 Buy Sell & Exchange Sprint - C5 - 295 ANYTIME WILL DO and JED NORTON were the last pair to jump. These runners then came together in the early stages when well back.
Race 11 Amber Cleaning Services Dash - C5 - 295 ENFLAME and KNOW ADVANTAGE were the last to jump. JACKSON CAT was checked in the early stages when crossing in behind ASSERT. ADINI was badly tightened along the inside into the bend and lost ground.
Race 12 Speight's Sprint - C4 - 295 HOMEBUSH HELEN and OPAWA COLLAR were the last to jump from the inside. OPAWA COLLAR checked off the back of UNO HARRIET into the bend. ZO LA DOE ran wide on the home turn and lost ground. A pre race swab of ZO LA DOE was abandoned after the dog had urinated in his kennel before the race.
