Track: Good The track was presented in very good order and the equipment functioned smoothly throughout the day. There was an issue with the timing equipment in the 2nd heat of the NZRS Qualifying Heat and as a result, there was no time taken and the make up of the final field was made by ballot under the supervision of the Steward in Charge for the final two places and the two reserves.

Health and Safety comment: Nil

Judicial report: DARLYNE OTTEY who was stood down at the Manawatu Meeting on 20.08.12, was presented and re Vetted under Rule 82.5 and the original stand down was rescinded and DARLYNE OTTEY is now free to race as of todays date.

Race 1	Manawatu Raceway Dash C0 - C0 - 375	BIGTIME JET, MOTOR MOUTH and MY GIRL IZZY were all slow to begin losing four lengths. BIGTIME JET recovered the best of the three and made up ground for 2nd placing. GO AYLA GO shifted in from the start and checked RUN JUNIOR RUN who lost two lengths. SAMMY JAMES was checked going into the first corner and fell and he was examined by the Vet and stood down for 7 days with shoulder bruising.
Race 2	Palmerston North Harness Racing Club C1 - C1 - 375	KEZZ and LITTLE BITTY GAL were slow to begin losing two lengths. CRAZY BABY led in the early part of the race but was checked from the inside when MAC TAN shifted out slightly going into the bend and she lost four lengths, never recovered and finished in 2nd last place.
Race 3	Hansens Interior Advanced Solutions C2 - C2 - 375	DON'T CALL ME and LIGHTNING FEVER were the slowest to begin losing a length. DON'T CALL ME shifted out going to the first corner and collided with HALF THROTTLE who suffered the most in the incident and he lost four lengths.
Race 4	ANZA Motor Company C1 - C1 - 457	BUSINESS PLAN shifted in from the start and checked ASHVEGAS VALUE who lost ground and settled in last place. ASHVEGAS VALUE and JUST MAC jostled together for several strides going to the first corner and they both lost ground with JUST MAC the most affected and he lost three lengths.
Race 5	No Moore Hassell Pet Food Ltd C2 - C2 - 375	WHAT WHERE WHEN was tightened between runners and checked going into the bend and he went back to the rear, covered extra ground by racing wide on the bend and finished in 2nd last place.
Race 6	Hunting and Fishing C3 - C3 - 457	ODE TO LIBERTY shifted in quickly from the start and inconvenienced REALON RUMBA for a couple of strides . RONAN MACHALL was handy during the early and middle parts of the race but tired over the concluding stages and finished in last place.
Race 7	Auto Interiors Ltd C3 - C3 - 375	RANDO REASON shifted in from the start and caused checks to TRENDY KNOCKAS, RUN ALAN, ATE PIZZA and BOTANY ZENA who all lost ground. ATE PIZZA recovered the best of those affected and finished in 2nd place with the others finishing back in the rear group.
Race 8	J W Auto C4 - C4 - 375	PARRA SPARRA was slow to begin losing two lengths and raced wide after starting from box 8 and finished in the rear group. CARUBA QUEEN also raced wide on the bend covering extra ground and finished in last place.
Race 9	Peter Sinclair Photo Finish C5 - C5 - 375	The favourite THEODORE WEST drew box 8 and was forced to race wide. He also received a very interrupted run and was bumped on several occasions when making contact with ARIANA and they both lost ground as a result. DARLEK KHAN was also checked going into the bend and lost ground. THEODORE WEST was examined by the Vet as a precaution and cleared of injury.
Race 10	Totally Fresh Vege Shop NZRS Ht 1 - NZRSq - 457 Heat 1	TILT YOUR GLASS was slow to begin losing two lengths. NIP TUCK shifted out going into the bend and dictated the line outwards of MR METICULOUS, TILT YOUR GLASS and NECTER who were all forced over extra ground and finished in the last three places.
Race 11	Mike Murphy Auto Electrical NZRS Ht 2 - NZRSq - 457 Heat 2	ASHER shifted in from the start and caused checks to OSCAR TUIVASA and OPAWA THORN who both lost ground and settled well back. ANOTHER BREEZE also shifted in soon after the start and checked KIWI GIRL and CHELSEAS BEAUTY who both lost ground. OSCAR TUIVASA and OPAWA THORN bumped together at the back of the field on the first corner and they stayed back to fiinish in the last two places.
Race 12	www.racingdogs.co.nz NZRS Ht 3 - NZRSq - 457 Heat 3	LOUIE MACHALL and HOMEBUSH MAYHEM were checked on the bend losing ground with HOMEBUSH MAYHEM the most affected and she lost four lengths and finished in last place.
