Track: Good The track was in excellent condition considering the amount of rain that has fallen recently with good consistent times being recorded.

Health and Safety comment:

Judicial report: WINSOME ACHIEVER (D Schofield) which was stood down after Cambridge on 21 June completed a solo trial over 318m in 18.86. After the trial the dog was examined by the veterinary surgeon who pronounced the dog fit to race. DEB BALE (G Pomeroy) which was stood down at Manukau on 19 July was revetted under Rule 82.5 and found to be clear of injury.

Race 1 Leading Stayer Mr. Chino Sprint - C4 - 318 LACHLAN VALLEY was last to jump from the inside. PREDATOR DRONE checked off the heels of TEAM JACOB into the bend and lost momentum. Soon after the favourite LIFE'S A DREAM ran outwards coming together with NATHAN'S CHAMP with both runners losing ground.
Race 2 Strike Rate Trainer Henny Laagland Sprint - C0 - 318 QUICK CAT, TESS' BOY and HAJIME were all slow to jump. Into the bend QUICK CAT was turned sideways when coming together with TESS' BOY and then ran outwards pushing WHEYHOUND very wide. HAJIME checked off the back of NINA BE GOOD wider out with both dogs scouting wide and losing ground. On the home turn MARMITE ran out coming together with TAKE ON ME with these two runners losing momentum for a few strides.
Race 3 Leading Stayer Ascending Force Sprint - C3 - 318 SASHA'S ONE ran inwards in the back straight placing AGENT VICTOR and HOT LASS in restricted room with this trio dropping to the rear.
Race 4 NZ Breed Motherlee - C1 - 318 EXACT MASTER was the last to jump. A combination of COOL TIME angling inwards and FRIZZLE FRAZZLE running outwards meant tightening for BINGO STARR in the middle of these runners with all three dogs losing ground.
Race 5 Newcomer Award James Black - C2 - 318 MISS ARKANSAS was the last to find her paws. LOCKLINNE ran outwards in the early stages checking KIOWA WHIZ for a stride. Into the bend BIG LASS angled inwards causing KIOWA WHIZ and LOCKLINNE to be tightened and drop to the rear.
Race 6 NZ Graduation Heat 1 - NZRSq - 527 Heat 1 The eventual winner JETSUN BLAZE was last to jump from the outside. JETSUN DREAM was checked at the end of the back straight as his brother JETSUN BLAZE improved along his inside. JETSUN DREAM then came together with PAMPEST on the home turn and lost ground.
Race 7 $50K Terminating Pick6 Sprint - C3 - 318 PERCENTAGE MAN, GENTLE ATTACK and EDWARD CULLEN were the last to jump. GENTLE ATTACK dropped out into the bend finishing nearly 24 lengths from the winner. A post race veterinary check revealed a sore gracilis with a 28 day stand down recommended.
Race 8 Leading Trainer Ben Craik Stakes - C3/4 - 527 The favourite MINT COLLISION was the last to jump. JOHN DEED tracked inwards soon after the jump taking the line of ENDORSE who lost ground. CARUBA QUEEN ran wide on the home turn losing ground. When questioned in regards to the improved performance of the winner CASH KNOCKA trainer Thayne Green responded that a recent downgrade had made the dog competitive.
Race 9 NZ Graduation Heat 2 - NZRSq - 527 Heat 2 THRILLING MARCH and FUN TIME GIRL were the tardiest from the traps. Due to a technical problem no head views were available for this race.
Race 10 Leading Middle Distance Have A Yap Stakes - C5 - 527 KIKI RHODE was the last to jump. THRILLING BLITZ angled outwards slightly into the bend pushing MINT POWER outwards on to kennelmate BENNY ROX who lost ground. Into the back straight KIKI RHODE checked outwards off the back of MINT POWER with BENNY ROX again copping the backwash. Again no head on view was available for this event.
Race 11 Leading Sprinter Motherlee Sprint - C5 - 318 FLYING FLYNN angled inwards in the early stages checking CAPTAIN COUTTS who dropped to the rear. FLYING FLYNN continued to hunt for the rail with KISSIN KATE receiving a check. Wider out RUBY TRON angled inwards into the bend tightening TALIESIN BLUE and COOL AND DRY who lost ground and forced CAPTAIN COUTTS wider. RUBY TRON then ran outwards losing ground.
Race 12 Jack's Wholesale Meats Sprint - C1 - 318 HOTWAX was tightened into the bend and dropped to the rear as GOOD PERCEPTION angled inwards.
