Race 1 | Absolutely Electrical C1/2 - C1/2 - 520 | THRILLING DEAL was slow away from the start by at least 5 lengths Racing in to the first turn SMASH BANG WIN raced around the outer forcing BOTANY MOLLY over on to the heels of HOMEBUSH MELL who was in the lead soon after BIG TIME KELINA tightened THRILLING DEAL towards the rail with THRILLING DEAL going back a length but quickly recovered to get through on the inside of BIGTIME KELINA running on for 4th placing at the line. HOMEBUSH MELL drifted out to the rear along the back straight finishing several lengths last at the line and was sent for vet check where he was found to have generalised muscle soreness /acidisis with a 14 day stand down recommended. |
Race 2 | Harrison Hire Master C3 - C3 - 305 | HOMEBUSH BUFFY was a late scratching at kenneling when presented with a split webbing with a 21 day stand down recommended ODE TO LIBERTY in racing in to and around the turns and bend became unbalanced and looked to be uncomfortable in her galloping action until running in the straight ODE TO LIBERTY was sent for a vet check where she was found to have pain in right pectoral muscle and left neck and shoulder muscles with a 7 day stand down recommended |
Race 3 | Guthrie Bowron C3 - C3 - 305 | EMMAS SECRET (fav) was bumped racing in to the first turn as GROOVY SHANE raced across to towards the rail and became unbalanced GROOVY SHANE kept the pressure on EMMAS SECRET who was forced back a stride with CONONELS CHOICE running in her hindquarters checking her EMMAS SECRET went back towards the rear in trying to recover wider out PARRA SPARRA ran out on to the back of ALL THE RAGE in avoiding the heels of CONONELS CHOICE all these runners lost ground at this point |
Race 4 | Crombie Lockwood (NZ) Ltd C2 - C2 - 305 | Soon after the start RON BAXTER and OPAWA SACHA came together CYCLONE SIX ran out as GUNNA EXITE ran in with these runners colliding and going back to the rear as the field raced in to the first turn HOMEBUSH ROSEBUD raced across towards the rail in midfield with CYCLONE SIX catching her heels HOMEBUSH ROSEBUD almost being dragged down Nearing the home turn the leader BELFAST GLENDA ran wide covering a lot of extra ground finishing in 3rd placing at the line CYCLONE SIX was vetted after the race and was found to have sustained cut on top on 2nd-3rd toes on left hind with a 10 day stand down recommended |
Race 5 | Palamountains Nutrition C3/4 - C3/4 - 305 | In the run down to the first turn CYNTHIA BAXTER raced across the face of the field causing KEACHYS MATE JACKIE SHIRAZ RONS SECRET HOMEBUSH SARINA and CHARLI CLANG to all be checked KEACHYS MATE caught the heels of CYNTHIA BAXTER as she crossed and KEACHYS MATE almost fell he went back towards the rear and was observed to be uncomfortable in his galloping action there after and was sent for a vet check where he has pain and swelling in right carpus with a 14 day stand down recommended ANOTHER STREET stood in the boxes missing the start by at least 7 lengths and was unable to catch the field there after tailing the field to the line. |
Race 6 | Broad Roofing C3/4 - C3/4 - 305 | WHAT A PEANUT was slowest away in the run to the first turn ANOTHER BLEND and EMMAS HEART came together jostling for several strides with WHAT A PEANUT making ground in behind being held up momenterily EMMAS HEART was tightened soon after and checked back to wards the rear and never got back in to contention there after HOMEBUSH DOMINO was racing in 2nd position to near the home turn when she shortened stride going back towards the rear HOMEBUSH DOMINO was sent for a vet check where she was found to have a torn long head triceps right front leg with a 28 day stand down |
Race 7 | J P Print Petone C3/4 - C3/4 - 305 | From the boxes NICKI HAKA raced across causing checks to DONKEY DEEP and ASTONISHING soon after racing in to the first turn OPAWA THORN tightened DONKEY DEEP and ASTONISHING a few strides on ANOTHER RAEWYN came across on to ASTONISHING pushing her over with NIKI HAKA catching her heels ASTONISHING and NIKI HAKA lost ground back in the field |
Race 8 | Mickey's Super Liquor C3 - C3 - 520 | Racing around the first bend UPAHUT CINDY came in on to SAHARA RAMA and YANKEE LADY who stumbled slightly CHAINSAW PETE and REALON RUMBA were directly in behind UPAHUT CINDY and were both checked when they moved out to avoid heels soon after heading towards the back straight REALON RUMBLE cut down to the rail severly checking LOTTO PROFIT who went back through the field on to WANDY KYLE who was forced to hurdle LOTTO PROFIT both these runners lost 15 lengths finishing a fair way back at the line but where galloping freely WANDY KYLE and LOTTO PROFIT were sent for vet checks with both dogs showing no signs of abnormalities |
Race 9 | Gary Ross Decorator C5 - C5 - 305 | Soon after the start there was tightning in midfield as HOMEBUSH ZITA and BOTANY ANGELA came across on to EMMA MARIE and BERELLA CHELSEA a couple of strides further on EMMA MARIE ran in towards the rail causing FREDDIE BAXTER and SUIT YOURSELF to be checked SUIT YOURSELF then ran in and bumped BOUND BY PRIDE who lost some ground at that point. |
Race 10 | Keenan Concrete Wanganui C4/5 - C4/5 - 520 | BIGTIME KINVARA was away well in the early stages running in second placing until the top bend when he started to drift back through the field beating one other runner to the line BIGTIME KINVARA was sent for a vet check where no apparent injuries were found at this point Veternerian Mr M Jansen advised the Stewards and connections that his recommendation is that this dog undergo further tests blood etc. |
Race 11 | Wanganui Security C5 - C5 - 305 | STIFF (fav) was slow away from the start by a length or two racing in to the first turn BLUE JEAN ALICE made contact with the hind leg of STIFF and went down on her hindquarters briefly losing her balance going back towards the rear in behind this NIP TUCK attempted to get out wide checked off the back of HOMEBUSH BAKUGAN and went out wide across the top bend she became unbalanced on the home turn losing more ground finishing in the rear at the line. BLUE JEAN ALICE was sent for a vet check where she has pain in both fan muscles with a 5 day stand down recommended NIP TUCK was sent for a vet check where he has pain in right front fan muscle with a 5 day stand down recommended |
Race 12 | The Rock 95.2FM C5 - C5 - 305 | From the boxes IONA HAKA raced across tightning GLENADDIS and MOTHERLEE further out IMA SPICE raced across catching the shoulder of MOODY MAN pushing this runner over on to BILLY WHIZ HOMEBUSH EDITH was tightened at this point losing a couple of lengths BILLY WHIZ and LITTLE WISHES went wide in to and across the top bend . |
