Weather: Raining
Track: Heavy Due to a significant amount of rainfall (48mLs) in the days prior to this meeting it was decided that the track would not be groomed between races. Prior to the start of Race 7 the handlers of all dogs requested that the track be groomed in an attempt to fill some of the divots which had been created through the earlier races. Stewards after meeting with the trainers and the Club Secretary to discuss the proposition requested the track be groomed and the race programme be delayed by one event. After speaking with trainers after Race 7 it was decided the track should continue to be groomed between events. The last race of todays programme was run at 3.34pm.

Race 1	Super Pets Sprint - C1 - 295	YALDHURST EDWARD and ARCHIES TOKEN were slow in the early stages. Racing into the turn TOTALLY CONFUSED became crowded between YALDHURST EDWARD and SUMMERLAND KING causing the dog to lose ground.
Race 2	Bill's Bar & Bistro Dash - C0 - 295	BUSINESS CLASS and GUS THE MUS were slow in the early stages. THIRSTY SOPHIE was bumped outwards by BUSINESS CLASS racing into the bend which shifted it across the path of GUS THE MUS who galloped on the dog causing it to falter and lost ground.
Race 3	$25,000 Terminating Turbo Pick 6 Leg 1 - C4/5 - 520	ANOTHER BREEZE shifted down the track in the first straight and in doing so caused considerable tightening to MAGIC LASS and WATERVIEW LASS, with WATERVIEW LASS losing considerable ground. On the first bend ANOTHER BREEZE received some interference from KING OF CLUBS who when shifting down the track bumped this dog. Leaving the first turn ANOTHER BREEZE shifted outwards and bumped the improving BARNABY BALE.
Race 4	Carol's T.A.B. Sprint - C2 - 295	Entering the turn OKUKU SUPRISE shifted away from the rail and forced DYNA FRIER to it's outside over the hindquarters of BELFAST MUNCHA which was dragged back and lost considerable ground. As a consequence both HALF THROTTLE and MIGHTY FORTUNE lost ground through being forced to race wide on the bend. DYNA FRIER had to check off the heels of HALF THROTTLE and shift ground on the turn. Halfway round the turn ELUSIVE DEEJAY received a slight check from FLYING JOJO costing it some momentum, because of this ELUSIVE DEEJAY then became crowded between OKUKU SUPRISE and HALF THROTTLE causing it to lose further ground.
Race 5	Murray @ Ray White Ph.3715005 Stakes - C2/3 - 520	MAGIC MAGGIE was bumped in the early stages by MAINLAND STAR. Racing towards the bend MAGIC MAGGIE received significant pressure when racing between MAINLAND STAR and LAGOON BEACH BOY. As a result MAGIC MAGGIE was heavily checked and turned sideways onto the rail. Stewards sent the bitch for a post race Veterinary examination which revealed no abnormalities. In this incident LAGOON BEACH BOY and MAINLAND STAR also lost considerable ground.
Race 6	Business Time At Stud Dash - C3 - 295	BIGTIME YAHOO bumped with HOMEBUSH COLT on numerous occasions on the bend with HOMEBUSH COLT losing ground. BIGTIME YAHOO which as a result had some momentum removed was then checked between HOT SHOT LAWYER and BOTANY ZENA with BIGTIME YAHOO losing further ground and inconveniencing the trailing HOMEBUSH COLT.
Race 7	christchurchgreyhounds.co.nz Sprint - C4 - 295	HOMEBUSH BAKUGAN and GOTTA FIND BUBBA were slow in the early stages. On the final bend AVERT shifted outwards in search of clear running and in doing so caused GOTTA FIND BUBBA and FIERY FLOWER to race wider on the track and lose ground.
Race 8	Active Electrical Christchurch Dash - C3 - 295	FULLA PRIDE ran wide on the bend.
Race 9	Buy Sell & Exchange Stakes - C1 - 520	SEISMIC STORM checked outwards off the heels of RHYTHM IN BLUE into the first bend and took ULTIMATE SPICE wide on the track. Stewards requested a Veterinary examination of SHA CHAR which weakened under pressure in the final straight to finish in 6th position 11.2 lengths from the winner. It was discovered the bitch had torn her right hip support muscle with a 21 day stand down imposed.
Race 10	Robbie's Bar & Bistro Sprint - C5 - 295	HOMEBUSH HELEN was a late scratching at 11.16am due to suffering diarrhoea. COOL CHARMER, when receiving sustained pressure between OBSESSED and CAWBOURNE TANK, racing into the bend faltered then stumbled and lost ground. KNOX was discovered post race to have sustained an injury to it's right stopper pad with a 7 day stand down imposed.
Race 11	Dave Robbie Photographer Distance - C0d - 645	Leaving the first bend HOMEBUSH WILD when shifting down the track checked LIGHTNING PLAY who, once clear, shifted outwards and dictated OPAWA WIN onto BUBBA WHO with both dogs losing some ground. Near the 295 meter boxes LIGHTNING PLAY was crossed and checked by BUBBA WHO with LIGHTNING PLAY then running outwards and racing wide for some distance.
Race 12	Speight's Sprint - C4 - 295	DA BOSS had to shift wide to avoid the heels of JACKSON CAT leaving the bend.
