JUSTA JET was very slow to begin then raced wide throughout the race. From the jump NEW INGILLTAB and NOISY LEO came together losing momentum. In the home straight MAGGIE DEE checked off the heels of LOTUS with a resulting check to NOISY LEO. |
| Race 2 | BRENDON BURKE @ FIRST NATIONAL - C1 - 390 | BAKE BEAN BETTY was slow to begin. In the run to the first turn SHADOW WOLF ran inwards onto TIE MY TIE with a resulting check to GRANT A DOLLAR. Shortly afterwards GRANT A DOLLAR checked off the heels of AUSSIE HAKA then ran wide on the track forcing SHADOW WOLF to also race wide on the track. |
| Race 3 | SOUTHLAND & OTAGO PHOTO FINISH - C1 - 390 | RAY DOSH missed the jump by several lengths. OLD OZARK shifted ground outwards at the jump checking HIT THE LIP and HAZZAS LAD. Shortly afterwards NEW YORK AFFAIR ran inwards making heavy contact with HAZZAS LAD. OLD OZARK, HAZZAS LAD and NEW YORK AFFAIR continued to make contact throughout the run to the first bend. On the bend RAY DOSH shifted outwards checking HIT THE LIP. At the same time HAZZAS LAD ran inwards severly checking OLD OZARK who in turn checked PENNY BLUE SOX. |
| Race 4 | WILLY'S FLOORING LTD - C1 - 390 | YALDHURST EDWARD was slow to begin. At the jump SALVADOR BALE shifted inwards making contact with NAEVIA and FOGGY STORM. In the run to the bend OPAWA FLYER shifted outwards abruptly checking CEE CEE ARE. SALVADOR BALE shortly afterwards shifted ground inwards checking NAEVIA. OPAWA FLYER ran wide on the bend. BLACK OZARK was subject to a post race veterinary inspection and found to have a puncture wound to the right fore first digit with a 5 day stand down recommended. |
| Race 5 | DAVE ROBBIE PHOTOGRAPHER - C4 - 457 | This race was declared a No Race by the Stewards under Rule 76.1. The lure was pulled up by the lure driver after some 250m when it slowed noticeably and the lead dogs caught the lure. It was determined that the rubber wheels on the carriage had become corrupted and split. A further check on the lure carriage showed a problem with the bearings which had caused the carriage to stick on the rail and put friction on the rubber wheels. The lure was totally replaced and tested for several laps before the next race which was put back one race by Raceday Control. The remaining race start times were all put back one race. |
| Race 6 | Polar Bear Stakes Final - C1f - 390 | At the first bend RUBYS GIRL ran inwards making heavy contact with NOVAS FORTUNE which was severly checked. SURF QUAKE moved outwards on the first bend checking HOMEBUSH CRAIG which lost momentum. |
| Race 7 | ADDED ENERGY MAIDEN - C0 - 457 | HEROISM was a shade slow to begin.SECRET ARNIE checked off the heels of OPAWA STU approaching the bend forcing MOON AND SEA wider on the track. SECRET ARNIE then ran back inwards making heavy contact with HEROISM with a resulting check to AUTUMN SPIRIT which lost all momentum. |
| Race 8 | COLORMARK SYSTEMS LTD - C2 - 390 | CROSSFIRE MAX and STAR GUN were both slow to begin. Shortly after the start ANOTHER STAR shifted inwards checking REAL SLIM SHADY. |
| Race 9 | SGRC $50 LEATHER LEADS - C2/3 - 457 | HOMEBUSH WILD and MISS IRON FIST made contact throughout the early stages. |
| Race 10 | SGRC $26 FIVE WIRE MUZZLE STAKES - C1 - 457 | WANDY CHLOE was very slow to jump. Racing into the bend SENSITIVE LAND shifted outwards checking OPAWA ECHO. Shortly afterwards OPAWA ECHO fell free of interference suffering a fractured left fore leg and was humanely euthanised by the club veterinarian. |
| Race 11 | ASCOT PARK HOTEL - C3 - 390 | CREPE MYRTLE and COLONELS CHOICE were both slow to jump. VAMPIRES SHADOW and JOHNNIE GEORGE made contact shortly after the jump. ALWAYS A STORY and COLONELS CHOICE made contact rounding the bend. |

| Race 14 | SGRC $25 YARD MUZZLE STAKES - C5 - 390 | OUR BEOWULF shifted ground inwards at the jump checking HONKING HORNS which resulted in HONKING HORNS checking ANOTHER LEIGH.On the first bend HOMEBUSH HELEN which was leading was galloped on from behind by JENNINGS which was placed in restricted room by CAWBOURNE MOFF on its outside. DYNA BROWNLOW was checked in this incident and ran wide on the bend. Shortly afterwards HOMEBUSH HELEN was checked when CAWBOURNE MOFF made heavy contact with both runners losing momentum. DYNA BROWNLOW was subject to a post race veterinary examination after it fell after the finish line which revealed muscle soreness in the left fore shoulder with a 7 day stand down recommended. |
