Stipendiary Stewards Report

Southland Greyhound Racing Club

Ascot Park Raceway ON TUESDAY 26 Jun 2012

Weather: Raining
Track: Dead The track remained in a safe condition despite the atrocious conditions.
Scales: Correct at all weights
Health and Safety comment:

Judicial report: The meeting was run in the coldest conditions imaginable with hail and snow flurries throughout the day. Trainers and the Veterinary Surgeon were consulted throughout the day with the decision being made to continue with the meeting which was a credit to all handlers and officials concerned. Race 10 was declared a no race after the leading dog caught the lure in the home straight. This was due to the heaviness of the lure and the lack of grip on the rail from the lure wheels. The trial lure was tested and used for the remainder of the programme without problems.
