| Race 1 | Otago First4 Maiden Stakes - C0 - 545 | NOGGIN, SECRET VENUS and MOON AND SEA were slow to jump. At the start TOP PLAYER ducked outwards sharply but was clear of other runners. Into the first bend SECRET NICOLE was checked along the rail as NOGGIN crossed in front of her. KNOW HONOUR checked off the back of the tiring TOP PLAYER on the home turn and lost momentum. Josh Lane the handler of the winner OPAWA STEVE explained to Stewards that the dog had been freshened and has been working well of late. |
| Race 2 | www.greyhoundaspets.org.nz - C0 - 310 | BELFAST CHUKKA was a clear last on jumping. OPAWA WILD ran outwards coming together with UPSALA JEWEL for a stride in the early stages. OPAWA WILD was then tightened into the first bend and lost ground. On the bend BANK ROLLER checked outwards off the back of FANCY SPICE and came together with JUST KRISTY who was forced wider. NEW INGILLTAB was also inconvenienced at this stage. |
| Race 3 | Blue Bubble Dunedin Taxis Sprint - C1 - 310 | HAZZAS LAD and NEW YORK AFFAIR were the slowest to find their paws. In the early stages TIE MY TIE ran outwards coming together with HEZA SENSATION for a stride. SENSITIVE LAND, MOREPORT SHANNON and TIE MY TIE raced in tight quarters in the back straight with SENSITIVE LAND losing ground and angling outwards contacting NEW YORK AFFAIR. Into the bend HAZZAS LAD came away from the rail and forced NEW YORK AFFAIR wider. |
| Race 4 | Norwood Farm Machinery Stakes - C1 - 545 | WANDY CHLOE and BRASSED OFF were the slowest from the traps. CALM SPIRIT ran outwards in the early stages checking MORE MODEL who lost a length and then ran inwards checking WANDY CHLOE who lost ground. OPAWA RAPID shifted wider on the first bend pushing MORE MODEL very wide with this runner losing a lot of ground. |
| Race 5 | Roofing Solutions Sprint - C1 - 310 | FROGGY NEWITT and FOGGY STORM were the last to jump. BLACK JAY was tightened along the rail on the bend as JOHNNYS BLUE crossed in front of him with BLACK JAY contacting the rail and dropping to the rear. A post race veterinary check revealed no injury. FROGGY NEWITT received a check on the home turn and lost momentum. |
| Race 6 | Green Island Super Liquor Sprint - C2 - 310 | GEORGE BAXTER, STAR GUN and CAWBOURNE HEIDI were the last to jump. In the early stages JIMMY CEE came across the face of the field tightening FULLA PRIDE, CAWBOURNE HEIDI and STAR GUN with TUI HOTLIPS also being checked and dropping to the rear. CAWBOURNE HEIDI angled inwards on the bend causing FULLA PRIDE and TOWER to be tightened and lose momentum. |
| Race 7 | Brocklebanks Dry Cleaners Stakes - C2 - 545 | OPAWA PEEKAY ran inwards in the early stages checking FLYING REBEL who dropped to the rear. OPAWA PEEKAY and SHOULD BE CARLOS then came together for a stride soon after. FLYING REBEL was held up on the home turn and lost momentum. |
| Race 8 | Keyosk Service Bar Sprint - C2 - 310 | HOMEBUSH CRAIG and GOTTA FIND BUBBA were the last to jump. SWIP TASTIC angled inwards in the back straight tightening JAGGA GUN, HALF THROTTLE and the favourite HARES HOPING who all lost ground. HARES HOPING then checked off the back of HALF THROTTLE on the turn and remained last with a post race veterinary check revealing no abnormalities. |
| Race 9 | Brian Bagley Driver Licensing Sprint - C3 - 310 | VAMPIRES SHADOW and CAWBOURNE CATCH were the slowest into stride. JOHNNIE GEORGE ran outwards and checked VAMPIRES SHADOW for a stride at the jump. FEARSOME MCKAY checked off the back of WANDY OLIVIA into the bend with CAWBOURNE CATCH being inconvenienced in behind these runners. FEARSOME MCKAY dropped away after this check finishing a long last with a post race veterinary check revealing a torn gracilis with a 30 day stand down recommended. JOHNNIE GEORGE was found to have a sore shoulder with a five day stand down imposed. |
| Race 10 | Speedprint Shop Sprint - C3 - 310 | OUT BY FIVE and ALWAYS A STORY were the last to jump. Into the bend ALWAYS A STORY and COT CASE CUTIE came together when well back in the field. At this stage HOMEBUSH DOMINO checked outwards off the back of the leader and pushed HAMPDEN JACK wider on the track. |
| Race 11 | Roofing Solutions Stakes - C3 - 545 | ARCHIES JET was the last to jump. GLYNIS BALE was checked into the first bend as her kennelmate RINGOS COLD angled inwards with GLYNIS BALE running outwards contacting THRILLING JONAH who lost ground. Soon after GLYNIS BALE was tightened and badly checked settling at the rear. ARCHIES JET and THRILLING JONAH also came together at this point. |
| Race 12 | Dave Robbie Photographer Dash - C5 - 310 | RUSSELL HART and DIXIE LEE were tardily away from the inside. HOT MANGO angled outwards soon after the jump checking KNOW MISTAKE and KNOW ADVANTAGE for a stride. KNOW MISTAKE ran inwards into the bend tightening RUSSELL HART who dropped to the rear. Soon after the favourite DIXIE LEE ran outwards pushing HOT MANGO and ENFLAME wider with KNOW ADVANTAGE checking off the back of these runners and losing ground. |
| Race 13 | St Kilda Veterinary Centre Sprint - C4 - 310 | WATERHOUSE and CAUGHT THE EYE were slow from the traps. GENISTA TORNADO was checked in the early stages dropping to the rear as WHAT A PEANUT ran inwards and tightened him and WATERHOUSE. General tightening into the bend resulted in the favourite KNOW ATTENTION, WHAT A PEANUT and CAUGHT THE EYE all receiving some buffeting and losing ground. |
| Race 14 | Racing Again Tuesday 3rd July Sprint - C5 - 310 | KNOW ESCAPE was a clear last on jumping. REAL CLEVER angled outwards in the early stages placing KNOW RIVAL and ENABLE in restricted quarters. Into the bend ENABLE was tightened and dropped to the rear. On the home turn ENABLE struck the rail and dropped out to finish last with a post race veterinary check revealing him to be free of injury. |
