Track: Good The track was well prepared and all equipment functioned smoothly. Following race 5, a dog escaped from the confines of the race track through a gate which is used by the grooming tractor and water truck and fortunately it was recaptured soon after. However, after discussions involving Trainers, Stewards and the Club Manager, the decision has been made that in future the gate will be closed at all times when individual races are taking place.

Race 1	Awapuni Dash C0 - C0 - 375	ABSOLUTE REALITY was slow to begin losing four lengths and he then raced wide on the bend and finished in last place. THUNDERING JET shifted out and GERARD HAKA shifted in going to the first corner and this resulted in checks to RAVEON and LITTLE BITTY GAL who both lost two lengths.
Race 2	Woodville Sprint C1 - C1 - 375	The start was delayed by 2 minutes due to a communication problem between the track and T.A.B Control. SYDILICIOUS was slow to begin losing three lengths but he recovered to win the race. ALL THE RAGE and SAUCY TOMATO were handy on the first turn but were checked losing ground with SAUCY TOMATO suffering the most and she went back onto SLANGEVAR who was checked and fell. SLANGEVAR was examined by the Vet and cleared of injury.
Race 3	GEON Wellington C1 - C1 - 375	FLASH THAT was slow to begin losing two lengths but she made up ground to finish in 2nd place.
Race 4	Sparky's Bar and Restaurant C2 - C2 - 375	The favourite BIGTIME BENDER drew box 8 and was forced to race wide throughout covering extra ground and finished in last place. KAZILLION checked over the heels of LEADFOOT LENNY on the bend and lost ground.
Race 5	Peter Sinclair Photo Finish C2/3 - C2/3 - 375	TILT YOUR GLASS was slow to begin losing three lengths but he ran on very well to finish in 2nd place. WISE CRACK LAD finished in last place five days previous when racing very wide over extra ground. Today he kept a good line and won well and the Trainer confirmed that his draw today and the fact that he was able to lead contributed to the improvement. CHEMICALLY FREE and GLENADDIS BOY bumped together for several strides going to the first corner and lost ground. GLENADDIS BOY never recovered finishing several lengths last and he was examined by the Vet and cleared of injury.
Race 6	www.racingdogs.co.nz C2/3 - C2/3 - 375	The favourite ASHER was slow to begin from box 7 and could not make up the lost ground and finished in the rear group.
Race 7	Foxton Dash C4 - C4 - 375	ASTONISHING galloped on the heels of SANDS OF TIME approaching the home turn and SANDS OF TIME shifted out and collided with GURU GOOSE who was checked losing ground and all chance of a first three placing.
Race 8	Cloverlea Sprint C5 - C5 - 375	LITTLE BLACKSPOT and EMMAS HEART were both checked when the start was made and GROOVY BANDIT was checked going to the first corner and they stayed back for the remainder of the race and finished in the last three places.
Race 9	Manawatu Raceway Stakes C4/5 - C4/5 - 457	DECEIVER checked off the heels of OOH LA COOL going to the first corner and they made contact again on the bend losing further ground and finished at the rear. DARLYNE OTTEY and HOWLIN WIND shared the lead going to the first corner but they jostled together for several strides losing ground and the chance for either dog to win the race and they finished in 3rd and 4th places.
Race 10	Marton Stakes C1/2 - C1/2 - 457	SMOOCHA, MISSION DRIVE and OPEHU TIGER bumped together for several strides soon after the start and they lost momentum. OPEHU TIGER recovered the best of the three and he went on to win the race.
