Health and Safety comment:

Judicial report: The lure broke down during Race 4 due to a bolt on the lure carriage working loose causing the bolt to come into contact with the running rail and a short-circuit in the power supply resulting. As a result 3 late scratchings were authorised prior to the re-run. Trainer Matt Roberts was reminded of his obligations in regards to the use of cellphones. Handler Roy Hamilton was warned to be careful to ensure that all dogs had finished the race before getting his dog off the lure so as to not compromise the safety of dogs and other handlers.

Race 1	CENTRAL WATER CARRIERS - C5 - 390	KNOW ESCAPE and WHAT A PEANUT were the last to jump. After a few strides FOUR BY TWO ran inwards checking KNOW ADVANTAGE who dropped to the rear. Into the bend FOUR BY TWO ran outwards tightening ROSCA and SANTA SLOY who lost ground. An improving KNOW ADVANTAGE was forced wide to avoid these runners. WHAT A PEANUT was found to have superficial lacerations to his left hind foot with sutures required with a seven day stand down recommended.
Race 2	www.southlandgreyhounds.co.nz - C0 - 390	BLUE SHORTS ducked outwards at the jump checking PUKEKO FLYER who lost ground. Soon after the jump MERELY A DREAM ran inwards checking ERVIN BALE and PUKEKO FLYER. A few strides later WANDY CHLOE also ducked inwards sharply towards the rail with PUKEKO FLYER again receiving a check. Into the bend PUKEKO FLYER and ERVIN BALE both ran very wide losing ground.
Race 3	BRENDON BURKE @ FIRST NATIONAL - C1 - 390	RADIATOR SPRINGS was the slowest to jump with BLACK JAY also awkwardly away from the jump. On the home turn BLACK JAY ran very wide losing ground.
Race 4	SOUTHLAND & OTAGO PHOTO FINISH - C1 - 390	CEE CEE ARE was tightened into the bend losing ground. On that bend MOREPORT SHANNON and MIGHTY FORTUNE came together for a stride.
Race 5	COLORMARK SYSTEMS LTD - C1 - 390	This race was delayed due to the breakdown in the previous race. WEARY TRAVELER and RAY DOSH were the last to jump. GRANT A DOLLAR ran outwards coming together with JOHNNYS BLUE in the early stages. SYDENHAM SAM and RAY DOSH came together on the home turn with SYDENHAM SAM dropping to the rear.
Race 6	WILLY'S FLOORING LTD - C0 - 457	OPAWA PATCH was a clear last on jumping. CANDYS DANDY ran inwards in the early stages tightening NOGGIN who lost ground. CANDYS DANDY was then tightened into the bend dropping to the rear.
Race 7	ADDED ENERGY - C3 - 390	DYNA FRIER was the last to jump. In the run to the bend OUT BY FIVE moved outwards briefly coming together with STAR GUN for a stride.
Race 8	SGRC $50 LEATHER LEADS - C4 - 457	WATERVIEW LASS and MAMAJA were the slowest to jump. FINN MCMISSILE was checked into the bend losing ground. He recovered well to run third. WALK DA TORQUE ran outwards and pushed HAMPDEN JACK wide on the home turn with that runner losing ground.
Race 9	JUSTRACING.COM.AU - C4 - 390	TEPIRITA TIKI and BLACK PAN were the last to jump. WHERES JOHN CEE was tightened by BLACK TRIGGER into the bend and lost ground. BLACK PAN checked off the back of WHERES JOHN CEE when making ground on the home turn. TEPIRITA TIKI was subject to a post race veterinary check that revealed a cut under his dew claw that required sutures with a ten day stand down recommended.
Race 10	100% SELECTRIX - C5 - 457	TORQUED UP was the last to jump. JONNY JET and SAM I AM came together for a few strides in the run to the bend. In behind these runners RUSSELL HART and TORQUED UP both received checks and dropped to the rear where they remained.
