Track: Good A very well presented track with all equipment maintained to a high standard and functioning smoothly throughout the meeting.
Scales: Checked and correct
Health and Safety comment: Nil

Judicial report: There has been concern expressed by some of the Staff in regards to Licence Holders consuming energy drinks in the kennels / parade area and the Stewards will be vigorously policing this in the future.

Race 1 Awapuni Dash C0 - C0 - 375 LISSADELL JASPER shifted out going into the bend and forced SLANGEVAR and KING LEO to race wide. HOME BREWER led on the home turn but eased and turned his head losing ground. HOME BREWER then raced again and went on to win. He was examined by the Vet and stood down for 21 days with tricep, quadricep and gastrocnemius muscle injuries and a spike wound and is required to complete a satisfactory trial before next racing BIGTIME DREAM shifted out and turned her head towards THUNDERING JET on the home turn forcing that runner very wide on the track. BIGTIME DREAM was examined by the Vet and stood down for 28 days with pectoral and gracilus muscle injuries and is required to complete a satisfactory trial before next racing.
Race 2 Woodville Sprint C1 - C1 - 375 SHERMAN FLYER, RON BAXTER and HOMEBUSH JEM were checked back to the rear going to the first corner and they never recovered and finished in the last three places. The two favourites PATH TO PALMY and FLASH THAT were slow to begin. FLASH THAT recovered to win the race with PATH TO PALMY back in 5th place and she appeared a little sore following the race, was examined by the Vet and cleared of injury.
Race 3 GEON Wellington C1/2 - C1/2 - 375 The two favourites TILT YOUR GLASS and BIGTIME ALLGO were slow to begin but made up ground well to finish in 1st and 2nd places.
Race 4 Sparky's Bar and Restaurant C1/2 - C1/2 - 375 CHEMICALLY FREE raced very wide covering considerable extra ground but finished well for 2nd placing. The favourite MR DAPTO was slow to begin but made up ground until he was checked on the bend, went back to last and finished in that position.
Race 5 Peter Sinclair C1 - C1 - 457 MUNCHIN KRUNCH was checked back to last at the start but he secured a clear run through and finished well for 2nd place. MISSION DRIVE drew box 8 and raced very wide covering extra ground but ran on well to finish in 3rd place.
Race 6 www.racingdogs.co.nz C3 - C3 - 375 TURF MOOR checked and shifted out on the bend and this resulted in a check to CAWBOURNE TINA who lost several lengths and WISE CRACK LAD who fell. WISE CRACK LAD was examined by the Vet and cleared of injury.
Race 7 Foxton Dash C3 - C3 - 375 BRUTUS FINALE drifted off the back of the feld on the first corner and finished several lengths last and was examined by the Vet and stood down for 28 days with injuries to pectoral and quadricep muscles. The Trainer advised the Stewards that BRUTUS FINALE is now retired.
Race 8 Cloverlea Stakes C2/3 - C2/3 - 457 The favourite BIGTIME KAREN drew box 8 and was only away fairly, covered extra ground on the bend and finished in 2nd last place. She was examined by the Vet as a precaution and cleared of injury.
Race 9 Manawatu Raceway Dash C5 - C5 - 375 BLACK COULDRON led into the home straight but was struck from behind by COMPLICIT as that runner improved and BLACK COULDRON lost momentum and finished in 5th place.
Race 10 Marton Dash C4 - C4 - 375 The favourite MIRAGE stumbled from the boxes losing several lengths and she stayed back to finish in last place. ASTONISHING and KERRYS DELIGHT were slow to begin losing three lengths. OUR PLAYBOY was handy enough going into the bend but was checked losing four lengths and all chance.
Race 11 Feilding Sprint C4 - C4 - 375 REQUEST FUNDING was checked going to the first corner and he went back to the rear of the field and stayed there for the remainder of the race.
Race 12 Shannon Stakes C4/5 - C4/5 - 457 KEROBOKAN and CORBY were slow to begin losing two lengths. KEROBOKAN then made up ground but was checked going into the bend when on the heels of RYBENBROOK FLASH and he lost two lengths and finished in 3rd place.
