| Race 1 | CENTRAL WATER CARRIERS - C0 - 390 | BOOZE UP was a clear last on jumping. HOMEBUSH COLT and RUBYS GIRL came together for a stride at the start. HAZY DAZE angled outwards into the bend checking HOMEBUSH COLT who lost ground. On the bend REDIAL ran inwards tightening HAZY DAZE and HOMEBUSH COLT who dropped to the rear. |
| Race 2 | WILLY'S FLOORING LTD - C0 - 457 | OPAWA STU, SECRET SARAH and BABY JAMES were all slow to jump. CALM BROOKE ran inwards into the bend badly checking IMA SINGER and OPAWA CRUSHER who lost ground. IMA SINGER and SECRET SARAH then came together losing their chances. Post race veterinary checks of IMA SINGER, SECRET SARAH and CALM BROOKE revealed no abnormalities. SECRET SARAH was found to have pain in the pectoral muscle with a five day stand down recommended. |
| Race 3 | www.southlandgreyhounds.co.nz - C1 - 457 | CROSSFIRE MAX ran wide into the bend and lost ground. OPAWA BOMB checked when coming together with KNOW CLASS and stumbled for a stride into the bend and lost ground. OPAWA BOMB was subject to a post race veterinary check that revealed a bleeding and exposed quick with a seven day stand down recommended. |
| Race 4 | SOUTHLAND & OTAGO PHOTO FINISH - C1 - 390 | BLACK JAY was last to jump. Into the bend JAMES ARTHUR pushed up along the rail pushing JAFFA GUN wider on to BLICKLING BRIDGE. This caused NEW ORDER to race wider and be dragged down by AS FAR AS who was also badly checked at this stage. A post race veterinary check of NEW ORDER revealed no abnormalities. On the home turn BLICKLING BRIDGE and ANOTHER STAR came together widest on the track and lost their chances with AS FAR AS again being checked in behind for a stride. |
| Race 5 | $26 FIVE WIRE MUZZLE STAKES - C1 - 390 | GRANT A DOLLAR and YELLOW DIAMONDS were the last to jump. BLACK OZARK dropped out soon after the start finishing a long last with a post race veterinary check revealing a possible ruptured thigh muscle with a 21 day stand down recommended. GRANT A DOLLAR ran outwards into the bend checking FERAL FOX with that runner losing ground. GRANT A DOLLAR remained wide throughout losing ground on the home turn. Co-trainer Andy McCook was questioned in regards to the improved performance of the winner WYNDHAM. He stated that the dog had trained off towards the end of his last campaign and was put out for a spell coming back from the spell in excellent condition. Mr McCook added that the dog had been trialling well and a bold effort was expected. |
| Race 6 | ADDED ENERGY - C2 - 390 | The favourite ZEBIDIAH was very awkwardly away from the inside losing five lengths. Stewards withheld payment of this race until it was established that the slow beginning was of its own accord. SOCRATES ran outwards in the early stages tightening HOMEBUSH SARINA for a stride. Into the bend FOGGY STORM checked outwards off the back of AUSSIE HAKA. A quickly improving ZEBIDIAH then ran up the back of FOGGY STORM and lost all momentum. A post race veterinary check of ZEBIDIAH revealed no injury. |
| Race 7 | BRENDON BURKE @ FIRST NATIONAL - C3 - 390 | GENISTA OUTLAW and RED LABEL PENNY were the last to jump with the favourite COLONELS CHOICE also settling beyond midfield. GENISTA OUTLAW ran outwards on the home turn pushing COLONELS CHOICE wider with both dogs losing ground. |

Trainer John McInerney advised Stewards that BLACK SHELLEEN has now been retired. On the home turn VISUAL ILLUSION ran outwards pushing WATERHOUSE wider. |
| Race 11 | ASCOT PARK HOTEL - C5 - 390 | ROSCA was the last to jump. DYNA GROLL ran outwards soon after the jump and settled in the rear group. Into the bend OUR BEOWULF shifted outwards slightly checking WHAT A PEANUT and FIREMANS SALUTE who lost ground. ASSERT ran wide on the home turn losing ground. |

KNOW ADVANTAGE ran outwards into the bend checking DYNA DIEGO for a stride and pushing an improving NOBLE ENFORCER wide. On the home turn PERSIAN OIL and SANTA SLOY came together with EMERGE being badly checked in behind these runners. |
