Race 1 HAPPY BIRTHDAY KEN KILSBY SPRINT - C3 - 390 GEORGIE LEE ran inwards in the early stages tightening ANOTHER COFFEE, DYNA BROWNLOW, VAMPIRES SHADOW, MISS IRON FIST and BENNYS ANGEL. The worst affected of this quintet was VAMPIRES SHADOW who dropped to a clear last. This dog made ground late for sixth.
Race 2 ADDED ENERGY DASH - C3 - 390 BLACK TRIGGER was the last to jump. OUT BY FIVE ran outwards into the bend pushing ANOTHER MATE wider with both dogs losing ground. Soon after LIFE WITH DEXTER checked off the back of BLACK TRIGGER and lost momentum.
Race 3 BRENDON BURKE @ FIRST NATIONAL - C0 - 390 CHOOSE TO LOVE ran inwards soon after the jump checking NEW INGILLTAB for a stride. Into the bend SHIRAZ ROSE and MAGGIE DEE both lost ground as they were tightened by CHOOSE TO LOVE on the inside and YELLOW DIAMONDS crossing from their outside.
Race 4 CENTRAL WATER CARRIERS - C0 - 457 BOTANY VIXEN and BUBBA WHO were the last to jump. In the early stages BOTANY COMET ran inwards tightening BOTANY MOLLY and MISS FIT who lost ground. At the end of the back straight BOTANY COMET dragged her sister BOTANY PRANCER down for a few strides with both dogs losing momentum. In behind MISS FIT checked outwards to avoid these runners and in doing so checked BOTANY MOLLY and BUBBA WHO who again lost ground. A post race veterinary check of BOTANY PRANCER revealed no injury.
Race 5 COLORMARK SYSTEMS LTD - C1 - 457 LIGHTNING PLAY was the last to jump. OPAWA CHARLIE ran outwards in the back straight and remained wide throughout losing ground.
Race 6 www.southlandgreyhounds.co.nz - C1 - 390 RULE JUDGE JUDY ran outwards marginally in the early stages coming together with SHADOW WOLF and MOREPORT SHANNON for a stride. NEW ORDER angled inwards on the bend tightening TIE MY TIE who lost momentum. SHADOW WOLF ran outwards on the bend pushing CEE CEE ARE wide with these dogs both losing ground.
Race 7 SOUTHLAND & OTAGO PHOTO FINISH - C2 - 390 THRILLING SOUND was the last to jump. This dog remained well back until the final stages making ground late for second. SOCRATES angled outwards sharply into the bend when looking for room pushing WANDY HALLEE wider.
Race 8 WILLY'S FLOORING LTD - C4 - 390 MUSTARD FUDGE was tightened soon after the jump dropping to the rear. He ran on well late for a close fourth. Following the race BASILIO BALE was found to have a ripped dew claw that was bandaged with no stand down being deemed necessary.
Race 9 SGRC Novice Sprint Final - C0f - 390 NEW YORK AFFAIR ran inwards soon after the start tightening DYNAMIK SPIRIT, HOME TRUTH, GENIAL and HAZZAS LAD. On the bend GENIAL angled off the fence slightly hampering HAZZAS LAD and HARES HOPING. HAZZAS LAD was found to have a sore trackleg following the race with a seven day stand down recommended.
Race 10 SGRC Newbies Stakes Final - C0f - 457 MONTY DOSH angled outwards and came together with OPAWA BOMB, FEAR GO and RAY DOSH in the early stages. FAT SALLY was handy in the early stages but dropped out to finish last. A post race veterinary check revealed triangle and gluteal muscle pain with a fourteen day stand down recommended. In the run down the back straight RAY DOSH ran inwards checking OPAWA BOMB for a stride. Soon after OPAWA BOMB contacted the rail and dragged RAY DOSH down with both dogs losing ground.
Race 11 100% SELECTRIX - C2 - 457 LIFES GREAT was the last to jump. WOT PRICE CURLY ran inwards and came together with the pacemaking RUN RILEY RUN into the bend with both dogs losing momentum.
Race 12 justracing.com.au - C5 - 390 ENFLAME ran inwards in the initial stages coming together with CAUGHT THE EYE and HOMEBUSH HELEN for a stride. Into the bend NOBLE ENFORCER and HOMEBUSH HELEN made contact with HOMEBUSH HELEN losing ground.
Race 13 $26 FIVE WIRE MUZZLE STAKES - C5 - 457 TORQUED UP ran outwards in the early stages coming together with EMILY BAXTER. On the bend SHUNT APPEAL ran inwards checking EMILY BAXTER who lost ground.
Race 14 SGRC LEATHER LEADS - C2/3 - 457 BARNABY BALE was the last to jump. In the run down the back HOMEBUSH IRIS ran inwards contacting MORNING WATCH who dropped to the rear.
