Health and Safety comment:

Judicial report: The lure ran out of power during the stirups for race 7
The lure was changed with the race going ahead being delayed by 10 minutes
In race 9 the lure broke down after approx 150 metres , the dogs were caught,with the vet in attendance to check , with no injuries apparent ,The marjority of trainers advised the stewards that they did not wish for their runners to run a rerace for welfare reasons ,so the race was abandonded
The club paid out 50% of the stake to the runners as per the abandonment race compensation rule
The remainder of the meeting went ahead .

The lure /s and running rail will be fully checked and serviced before the meeting schedulled meeting next week

Race 1 Te Awamutu Self Storage Sprint - C0 - 375 FORECASTER was slow away again today by a couple of lengths, he tried to make ground around the field beating a couple of other runners to the line Racing in to the first turn AKKADIAN was tightened between runners and forced to check back off the heels of SURFER FOOT ,AKKADIAN went back to the rear by several lengths and never got back in to contention from there on in The trainer of SURFER FOOT reported to the stewards that thius greyhound will not be perservered with and has been retired from racing AKKADIAN was vetted and was found to have sustained a right long head triceps muscle injury with a 10 day stand down imposed
Race 2 Garrards Horse and Hound Sprint - C4 - 375 Due to technical difficulties there was no head on coverage for this race BEATRIX KIDDO dwelt at the start and was last away ,she soon tried to make ground and was hampered racing in to the first turn as JULIA NORRIS came across on to HARAJUKU GIRL causing her to be severly checked , going back to the rear causing BEATRIX KIDDO to be checked losing more ground at that point ,eventually finishing in 6th placing at the line
Race 3 Mitre 10 Mega Cambridge Sprint - C1 - 375 there was no head on coverage for this race As the field raced in to the home straight HIGH FLYER moved out slightly in to the shoulder of HOT LASS who bumped in to ASTUTE WHIZ, HOT LASS became unbalanced at this point and lost ground finishing in 5th placing at the line
Race 4 Clubhouse Sports Bar Stakes - C1/2 - 457 KIKI RHODE knuckled over and stumled on leaving the boxes losing a couple of lengths ,she was forced to race a bit wide across the top bend running on late in the last 50 metres to finish in 6th placing at the line Racing in to the first turn DELICHON URBICA caught a heel of SEEING EXCUSES going back a length or so at that point .
Race 5 Varvatos @ Stud Stakes - C3 - 457 ON TREY was last away by a length ,he made good ground through the field racing in to 3rd position across the top ,he was denied racing room for 50 or so metres in to and in the early run home in the straight, his effort told and he faded in the lst bit to finish in 5th placing at the line Soon after leaving the boxes DECADENT ran outwards colliding with CAFE CHICK who ran in to INDEED UNIQUE DECADENT kept on running out wide and collided with THRILLING SNEAK who ran in to STORMY RHODE as the field ran towards the first turn
Race 6 Presland Tocker Insurance Sprint - C1 - 375 From the jump BIG LASS checked back off heels as PICNIC TIME, TATA SAFARI and BON VOGUE raced across towards the rail MR MAJESTIC after being slow away came together with SAND BUSTER racing in to the first turn ,MR MAJESTIC was forced to race wide across the top and in to the home straight
Race 7 YGOT Bonus Scheme Sprint - C4/5 - 375 This race was run 10 minutes behind the scheduled time due to the lure running out of power during the stirups The lure was changed and the race went ahead MATANUSKA (fav) was last away and racing on to the top bend he ran out of racing room as LOCHINVAR YASI came across tightining the inside runners,resulting in MATANUSKAS clipping heels and falling ,CAPTAIN COUTTS , DARLEK KHAN were also checked by the falling runner going back several lengths MATANUSKA regained his footing to finish on to the lure and was sent for a vet check where he was found to have sustained a right longhead triceps muscle injury with a 7 day stand own imposed
Race 8 Hautapu Veterinary Clinic Sprint - C3 - 375 Due to the earlier lure problem the meeting was put back one race from race 8 PUNK PORTSEA was away well from the outside box ,soon drifted as they raced towards the first turn ,was hampered for a stride or so when PREDATOR DRONE shifted out and bumped her PUNK PORTSEA went back 5 lengths in the rear and was observed to be uncomfortable in her galloping action therafter finishing several lengths in the rear at the line and was sent for a vet check where she was found to have superficial pectoral pain an right hip support with 14 day stand down imposed PREDATOR DRONE and MISS FOLEY raced wide in to the top bend with PREDATOR DRONE racing widest in to the home straight
Race 9 All Sew Embroidery Feature Stakes - C1 - 457 The lure stopped approx 150 metres in to the race ,the vet went over an checked the runners with the majority of trainers not wishing to rerun their dogs on welfare grounds ,the race was then abandonded Refer judicial
Race 10 0800 4 Down Cow Stakes - C5 - 457 ENOUGH IS ENOUGH was slow away ,he raced wide out with MINT POWER in to and around the top bend
Race 11 Innovative Homes Sprint - C1/2 - 375 WHAT WHERE WHEN ran wide in to and around the top bend ,however ran on well for 3rd placing at the line
Race 12 Superior Chunky Dog Rolls Stakes - C3/4 - 457 EWARD CULLEN was slowest away ,then checked off heels going back to a clear last by 5 or so lengths ,he made a run up on the fence across the top bend running on well in the home straight to finish in 2nd placing at the line Racing across the top bend THRILLING RUST was tightened and checked back as PEKING TOM raced around the outer of SURFING AL, THRILLING RUST went back a few lengths losing his handy position ,SURFING AL and PEKING TOM raced close together jostling each other with PEKING TOM laying in on SURFING AL turning in to the home straight The stewards reviewed the film of the home turn as it initially appreared that PEKING TOM and SURFING AL may have turned thier heads fractionally, the film was inconclusive so no further action was warranted
