Track: Good The scales had their annual calibration checked last week and all weights were confirmed as correct. Part of the matting in the sprint boxes was replaced after it had come loose during the day.

Race 1	SGRC Novice Sprint Heats - C0q - 390 Heat 1	HOMEBUSH HELLS was the last to jump. OPAWA WILD and JUST A MATE came together for a stride soon after the jump. Into the bend JUST KRISTY angled inwards and came together with OPAWA WILD. JUST KRISTY lost ground and OPAWA WILD ran wide as a result of this incident.
Race 2	SGRC Novice Sprint Heats - C0q - 390 Heat 2	SECRET NICOLE was slow and the favourite RED CARPET was very awkwardly away from the boxes. In the early stages VICARS EXPRESS crossed quickly tightening NEW YORK AFFAIR, RED CARPET and SECRET NICOLE with these runners settling at the rear. Into the bend VICARS EXPRESS ran wide and pushed RULE JUDGE JUDY over a lot of extra ground.
Race 3	SGRC Newbies Stakes Heats - C0q - 457 Heat 1	CHOOSE TO LOVE, RAY DOSH and FEAR GO all dwelt at the jump. OPAWA STEVE came together with CHOOSE TO LOVE after a few strides and ran outwards in the back straight brushing RAY DOSH for a stride. Into the bend SECRET VENUS ran inwards and checked OPAWA STEVE who lost ground.
Race 4	SGRC Newbies Stakes Heats - C0q - 457 Heat 2	RHYTHM IN BLUE was the last to jump. The favourite TAKE NO PRISONERS was dragged down for a stride in the back straight and then ran wide into the bend losing ground. He battled on for third with a post race veterinary check revealing no injury.
Race 5	CENTRAL WATER CARRIERS - C2 - 390	GEORGIE LEE ran inwards at the jump checking the favourite GEORGE BAXTER. Into the bend GEORGE BAXTER and ERICS SONG came together and lost ground.
Race 6	COLORMARK SYSTEMS LTD - C2 - 390	HOMEBUSH CRAIG was the last to jump. The favourite AVERT came together with STAR GUN at the jump and settled at the rear. FIERY FLOWER was checked from behind at the end of the back straight and lost ground. Into the bend AVERT checked off the back of GENTLE HAND and lost momentum.
Race 7	BRENDON BURKE @ FIRST NATIONAL - C1 - 390	SLIGHTLY AMAZING was very awkwardly away and settled last. CEE CEE ARE ran wide on the turn and lost ground.
Race 8	SOUTHLAND & OTAGO PHOTO FINISH - C1 - 390	This race was delayed by two minutes due to the replacement of matting in the sprint boxes. TIE MY TIE was the last to jump. SHADOW WOLF and MOREPORT SHANNON came together into the bend and lost ground. GRANT A DOLLAR ran wide on the home turn losing momentum before running on well for third. Malcolm Grant the trainer of the winner NERD CORNER when questioned in regards to the improved performance of his bitch stated that her inside draw helped her get on the pace early which suits her racing style.
Race 9	100% SELECTRIX - C5 - 390	SORRY VANDERFORD was tightened in the early stages by HOMEBUSH BAKUGAN and lost ground. Into the bend COOL JORDIE clipped the hindquarters of NOBLE ENFORCER and received a severe check losing her chance. A post race veterinary check of COOL JORDIE revealed no injury.
Race 10	www.southlandgreyhounds.co.nz - C2 - 457	BLACK EMILY and MY BLIND SIDE were tightened into the bend and lost ground. On the home turn WOT PRICE CURLY checked off the back of the pacemaking SHOULD BE CARLOS and came together with MORNING WATCH who lost some momentum.
Race 11	ADDED ENERGY STAKES - C5 - 457	SABRE DANCE was the last to jump. Dave Fahey the co-trainer of the winner SAM I AM was questioned in regards to the improved performance of this dog. He stated that he appreciates the roomier track at Ascot Park having won three times here before. He added that the dog does not like being in close quarters with other dogs and today found plenty of room.
Race 12	justracing.com.au - C4 - 390	RED TIGER was the last to jump. On the bend ICEBERG RAPPER was checked and dragged down from behind by WATERVIEW LASS with ICEBERG RAPPER taking a heavy fall. JOHNNIE GEORGE checked off KINGA COOP on the turn and lost momentum. ICEBERG RAPPER was found to have sustained a painful humerus and elbow with a 21 day stand down recommended.
Race 13	SGRC LEATHER LEADS - C3 - 390	KNOCK EM was very hard to box in this event. After consultation with co-trainer Dave Fahey is was agreed that this dog be boxed first in its immediate starts. KNOCK EM, HOMEBUSH SARINA and BLACK TRIGGER came together in the early stages. ALWAYS A STORY checked off runners and ran wide into the bend losing ground. He made ground late for fourth.
Race 14	WILLY'S FLOORING LTD - C3 - 390	MYRA BEE and RED LABEL PENNY were the last to jump. On the home turn RED LABEL PENNY checked outwards off runners and collided with kennelmate JUMPIN JULIA who lost momentum.
