Health and Safety comment:

Judicial report: Trainer Kirsty Taylor reported that SOMETIMES ALAN has been retired after receiving a torn calf muscle on 15 March. Trainers Marcie Flipp and Rosemary Blackburn both reported that a dog in each of their kennels has been confirmed to be suffering from giardia. Trainers are advised to show extra care in this regard.

Race 1	Super Pets Sprint - C3 - 295	ANY BAD HABITS and CAWBOURNE JADE came together in the run down the back straight. Into the bend ANOTHER HIT and TOM FINN made contact and lost ground.
Race 2	tradestaff.co.nz Dash - C4 - 295	KNOW ESCAPE was the last to jump. GENISTA TORNADO and ALBIES LAD brushed together in the back straight. Into the bend ANOTHER RAEWYN angled inwards as RED VENOM was attempting to run outwards. This resulted in ALBIES LAD being badly tightened and falling with KNOW ESCAPE receiving a severe check in behind these runners. ALBIES LAD completed the race with a post race veterinary check revealing no injury. PURE CHEMISTRY was found to have sustained a torn gracilis with a 28 day stand down recommended. RED VENOM was found to have spike wounds with a five day stand down recommended.
Race 3	Thursday Place Pick Sprint - C3 - 295	DYNA FRIER checked outwards off runners into the bend losing ground and impeding GENISTA LIGHTNIN in behind. Soon after DYNA FRIER was tightened and lost more ground dropping to the rear.
Race 4	Buy Sell & Exchange Dash - C5 - 295	PRETTY GOOD was a shade slow from the inside. On the bend FLIP THE DICE was checked by an improving PRETTY GOOD with FLIP THE DICE running outwards sharply and severely checking HOMEBUSH HELEN, OPAWA COLLAR and KNOW ADVANTAGE with these dogs all losing ground.
Race 5	Garrard's Horse & Hound Dash - C3 - 295	ANOTHER COFFEE and ALWAYS A STORY were the last to jump. ALWAYS A STORY checked off REDDY BOY on the bend and lost ground.
Race 6	Flair Stakes - C2 - 520	LIFES GREAT was the last to jump. In the early stages CROSSFIRE MAX ran outwards causing SEISMIC STORM to be checked and lose ground. Into the first bend SITE AN EXCUSE was tightened by kennelmate LAGOON BEACH BOY and lost ground. Into the back straight SITE AN EXCUSE received another check and dropped to the rear.
Race 7	Murray @ Ray White Ph.3715005 Dash - C4 - 295	EXCUSE PLEASE and CAWBOURNE FLIPPA were the slowest from the traps. On the home turn COT CASE CUTIE checked outwards off the back of BOTANY ZENA and cannoned into CAWBOURNE FLIPPA who was knocked off balance and lost her chance.
Race 8	Kolorful Kanvas Stakes - C2/3 - 520	OPAWA MIDNIGHT was the last from the traps. Into the first bend the favourite SPACE RACE ran inwards contacting MAGIC LASS on two occasions and lost ground. Soon after OHOKA ZOE checked outwards off the back of SPACE RACE into the paths of OPAWA MIDNIGHT and JAG YOU ARE with these runners losing ground. SPACE RACE was unable to recover from these early checks finishing in midfield.
Race 9	David Emerson Consultancy Sprint - C5 - 295	FIREMANS SALUTE was last to jump and then pushed wide as EMERGE angled outwards in the early stages. Wider out CALLAHAN caused some tightening to CAWBOURNE FELIX and UNO HARRIET on his inside as he angled towards the rail.
Race 10	Borat At Stud Stakes - C5 - 520	CYNTHIA BAXTER ran outside soon after the jump and checked ALISARAY and ANOTHER BREEZE with ALISARAY dropping to the rear.
Race 11	Shirley Veterinary Centre Dash - C5 - 295	WANDY CHICK and FREDDIE BAXTER were both tightened in the early stages and dropped to the rear.
Race 12	Speight's Sprint - C4 - 295	MUSTARD FUDGE was the last to jump. GAZZAS PRIDE ran inwards soon after the jump tightening ANOTHER LEGIN and MUSTARD FUDGE who lost ground. HARD HABITS crossed to the rail into the bend checking FOUR BY TWO who dropped back through the field.
