Judicial report: Trainer Marcie Flipp reported to Stewards that some of her dogs were again affected by diarrhoea and scratched from today's races. The dogs have had tests carried out and Ms Flipp undertook to convey the results of these tests to Stewards in the coming days.

Race 1 Otago First4 Maiden Sprint - C0 - 310 GREEN TREATS dropped to the rear soon after the jump after coming together with NEW YORK AFFAIR. Shortly after this NEW YORK AFFAIR crossed sharply to the rail checking UPSALA JEWEL and MISS FIT in the process. Into the bend OPAWA SACHA and UPSALA JEWEL both angled outwards inconveniencing GREEN TREATS, OH NOVIS and the favourite SHA CHAR all of whom lost ground.
Race 2 Dave Robbie Photographer Sprint - C1 - 310 The favourite SURF QUAKE was the slowest from the traps but accelerated quickly to be handy into the bend. MOREPORT SHANNON was also slow to jump. TUI HOTLIPS and MOREPORT SHANNON were tightened soon after the start losing ground. CALINDA was checked into the bend when handy losing ground. The Trainers of the winner TIE MY TIE, Alan Joyce and Michael May, both expressed surprise at the dogs win putting it down to the handy draw and the clear run that the dog received.
Race 3 Brian Bagley Driver Licensing Stakes - C1 - 545 SENSITIVE LAND ran outwards into the first bend coming together with and dragging down MIGHTY PROPHET for a few strides with these two runners losing a lot of ground. Post race veterinary checks on these runners revealed a sore shoulder for SENSITIVE LAND with a ten day stand down recommended. Malcolm Grant the Trainer of the winner BRASSED OFF told Stewards that today was an easier field than he has met of late and that last time the dog was unlucky receiving a severe check on the first bend.
Race 4 Speedprint Shop Sprint - C1 - 310 WHERES MY SEAT ran inwards in the back straight badly checking NEW ORDER and VITALIZE who both lost ground. Soon after FINN MCMISSILE angled inwards on to TOWER who struck the rail and lost ground. A post race veterinary check of TOWER revealed no injury. Into the bend VITALIZE ran outwards pushing WHERES MY SEAT over extra ground. CEE CEE ARE ran wide on the home turn losing ground. Garry Cleeve the Trainer of the winner KNOW LOVE AFFAIR informed Stewards that the improved performance of the bitch was due to a downgrade and a clear run from her outside draw.
Race 5 www.greyhoundsaspets.org.nz - C2 - 545 SONIC DUFFER ran outwards in the early stages after checking off runners causing THRILLING JONAH and SHOULD BE CARLOS to lose ground and inconveniencing CAWBOURNE JAKE for a stride. The favourite INISHRUSH checked off AVERT on the first bend and lost ground. Off the back straight INISHRUSH checked off the heels of the pacemaking HOMEBUSH IRIS and angled outwards into the path of THRILLING JONAH who lost a length who in turn checked SONIC DUFFER and AVERT who dropped away sharply after this incident. INISHRUSH and AVERT were both subject to post race veterinary checks that revealed no abnormalities.
Race 6 Green Island Barber Sprint - C2 - 310 REAL FIRE POWER and WATERHOUSE were the last to leave the traps. MISS IRON FIST made brief contact with the rail on the home turn losing momentum for a stride.
Race 7 Brocklebanks Dry Cleaners Sprint - C3 - 310 ELITE PALACE, DYNA BROWNLOW and COLONELS CHOICE were all slow to jump. Into the bend ELITE FUTURE, DYNA BROWNLOW, BONUS BOND and JUMPIN JULIA all came together when racing in a line with BONUS BOND the worst affected dropping to the rear. The favourite COLONELS CHOICE dropped out in the early stages and tailed off eventually turning around and heading back to the lure in the wrong direction. A post race veterinary check revealed a torn thigh muscle with a 21 day stand down recommended.
Race 8 Keyosk Service Bar Stakes - C3/4 - 545 WATERVIEW LASS, AWESOME BENDER and TORQUED UP were the last to jump. Into the first bend WATERVIEW LASS ran outwards pushing BOTANY KELLY and TORQUED UP wide with these runners dropping to the rear.
Race 9 St Kilda Veterinary Centre Stakes - C5 - 545 GEOFF THE REF was the last to jump. On the first bend kennelmates GONE AWOL and ANOTHER DOLLAR came together for few strides with both dogs losing momentum. FIFTH EDITION dropped out in the back straight and finished a long last with a post race veterinary check revealing a torn gracilis with a 28 day stand down recommended. Trainer Stephen Evans advised that the dog has now been retired.
Race 10 Roofing Solutions Sprint - C4 - 310 WHERES JOHN CEE and CAWBOURNE DUSTY came together soon after the jump and dropped to the rear. HAMPDEN JACK was tightened into the bend losing ground.
Race 11 Norwood Farm Machinery Sprint - C3 - 310 DYNA FRIER came up with the lids and settled last with BLACK TRIGGER also dwelling at the start. LIFE WITH DEXTER ran outwards in the back straight checking BLACK TRIGGER and MR. CAMEROON. Into the bend kennelmates CAWBOURNE JADE and ANOTHER MATE came together with CAWBOURNE JADE falling. She regained her paws and completed the race with a post race veterinary check revealing no injury. On the home turn BLACK TRIGGER and OPAWA JACK came together for a stride.
Race 12 Racing Again Tuesday 17th April Dash - C5 - 310 The favourite ENABLE was tightened into the bend and lost ground. Soon after RUSSELL HART checked outwards off the back of KNOW MISTAKE and on to the hind quarters of SANTA SLOY with that runner being dragged down and losing ground. This pushed HONKING HORNS very wide with ENABLE have to scout wider to avoid trouble. Soon after kennelmates CAUGHT THE EYE and SANTA SLOY came together with SANTA SLOY dropping to the rear. A post race veterinary check of SANTA SLOY revealed no injury but CAUGHT THE EYE was found to have a cut leg that required sutures with a ten day stand down recommended.
