Judicial report: The recent inquiries being made into an alleged verbal altercation involving Wanganui Greyhound Club employees has been concluded with no further action being taken other than to warn Curator C.Butlin and he was advised that any further indiscretions of a similar nature may not be treated with the same leniency.
Trainer A Speight was fined $ 100-00 under Rule 69.11 when HOME BREWER was presented 1.8 kilograms over its last start weight on 20.02.2012.
STONES RIVER was a late scratching when not presented after the dog regained the field from 2nd reserve in race 9. The Trainer A.Speight advised the Stewards that she had not received notification of the dog gaining a start as she has recently changed her phone number. The Club had made several attempts to contact her on her previous number and as result, Ms Speight was instructed that in future if she has a reserve dog, she should make contact with the Club on race morning to ascertain if her dog has regained a field and no further action was taken on this occasion.

Race 1 Allied Work Force 0800 Labour C0 - C0 - 305 GUNNA PARTY and HOMEBUSH LARNA were slow to begin losing three lengths and stayed back to finish in the rear group. ZACCARA and MISSION DRIVE were tightened between runners on the first corner losing four lengths and all chance of a first four placing.
Race 2 Guthrie Bowron C0 - C0 - 305 TILLY BAXTER and HOMEBUSH CRUZ were the two slowest to begin and they stayed back throughout the race to finish at the rear.
Race 3 Harrison Hire Master C0 - C0 - 305 LISSADELL JASPER , BRODIE BAXTER and DYNAMIK SPIRIT bumped together and lost ground on the first corner and they finished in the last three places.
Race 4 Crombie Lockwood (NZ) Ltd C1 - C1 - 305 One of the favourites LANSVALE SPARK was slow to begin losing three lengths and he stayed back to finish in 3rd last place. CAWBOURNE COL and BABY FALOU collided soon after the start and BABBY FALOU lost two lengths. SAFFRON FLAHERTY checked off the heels of CRYSTAL SAL and lost ground on the first turn.
Race 5 Palamountains Nutrition C1 - C1 - 520 SLICE OF MAGIC was very slow to begin losiing several lengths and all chance of a first four placing. SLICE OF MAGIC has been very slow away in recent starts and the Trainer was advised that if there was no improvement in the dogs ability to jump on terms at its next start, consideration will be given to standing SLICE OF MAGIC down to complete a satisfactory trial. SLICE OF MAGIC was examined by the Vet as he appeared sore following the race and was stood down for 14 days with carpal pain. SHARKIES DREAM was a little slow to begin and then raced wide covering extra ground on the first bend but ran on quite well to finish in 4th place.
Race 6 The Rock 95.2FM C1 Final - C1f - 305 One of the favourites TE POPO JOE was a little slow to begin but recovered quickly to be handy on the bend. He then ran wide into the straight covering extra ground but kept up a strong run to finish in 3rd place.
Race 7 Wanganui Security C1 - C1 - 305 WAIRERE MIRACLE began well and led to the first corner but then ran very wide on the bend and into the straight over extra ground but continued a strong run to finish in 3rd place.
Race 8 Keenan Concrete C1/2 - C1/2 - 520 REGAL STEP was slow to begin losing three lengths. One of the favourites UNTEACHABLE was tightened and checked back to last on the first corner. He was then checked again when racing onto the heels of PETROL VOUCHER who had been checked and was dropping back going towards the back straight and UNTEACHABLE stayed back for the remainder of the race to finish in last place with PETROL VOUCHER just ahead.
Race 9 Couper Catering C1/2 - C1/2 - 305 TRICKY PAULA raced wide into the bend forcing the favourite ANOTHER LEGIN to race even wider over extra ground. ANOTHER LEGIN then switched down closer to the rail and finished well for 2nd placing. TRICKY PAULA continued to race wide on the bend and into the straight and finished in 2nd last place.
Race 10 Mickey's Super Liquor C1 - C1 - 305 The favourite RON BAXTER raced a little wide covering extra ground on the bend and finished in 5th place.
Race 11 Broad Roofing C1 - C1 - 305 GUNNA EXCITE slipped from its collar during stirrups and ran a short distance before being captured. She was examined by the Vet and cleared fit to start. GUNNA EXCITE began very awkwardly losing several lengths but did make up some ground to finish in 6th place. CYCLONE SIX and URUTI STORM collided on the first corner and CYCLONE SIX lost three lengths and stayed back to finish in 2nd last place. HOMEBUSH TIME led to the first corner but then began to drift back and noticeably eased approaching the home straight and finished two lengths last. She was examined by the Vet, cleared of injury and was stood down for 28 days under Rule 80.1 b for failing to pursue the lure throughout the race and is required to complete a satisfactory trial under Rule 81.1
Race 12 GEON Wellington C1/2 - C1/2 - 305 BOND ECLIPSE was slow to begin losing three lengths. CAWBOURNE AVA shifted in and ANOTHER RAEWYN shifted out from the start and this resulted in tightening to runners drawn between with GINA MAC and MS TOURNAMENTAL being the most affected. BOND ECLIPSE shifted in on the first corner and checked MS TOURNAMENTAL and GINA MAC with MS TOURNAMENTAL suffering the most and she stayed back to finish in last place with GINA MAC just ahead.
