Track: Good A break in the rail was detected prior to the running of Race 10 with the programme being put back by one race and no more problems being experienced.
Scales: Correct at all weights
Health and Safety comment:

Judicial report: MYRA BEE successfully completed a satisfactory trial as required by Rule 81. Black armbands were worn by handlers as a mark of respect for the late Malcolm Eveleigh who passed away recently.

Race 1	SOUTHLAND & OTAGO PHOTO FINISH - C5 - 390	BASILIO BALE was the last to jump. SANTA SLOY angled to the inside into the bend tightening SHUNT APPEAL who lost ground. On the home turn HONKING HORNS was dragged down for a stride by CAWBOURNE DUSTY with HONKING HORNS losing momentum. HONKING HORNS recovered to run third with a post race veterinary check revealing no injury.
Race 2	WILLY'S FLOORING LTD - C3 - 390	HOMEBUSH SARGE ran inwards soon after the jump checking GENISTA LIGHTNIN and ROSCA. Soon after ROSCA ran outwards and this together with CAWBOURNE HARVEY angling inwards resulted in GENISTA LIGHTNIN and JOHNNIE GEORGE being tightened in between these runners. Closer in kennelmates HOMEBUSH SARGE and ANOTHER GON came together when vying for the lead. HOMEBUSH REECE and ANOTHER COFFEE also came together into the bend losing momentum. On the bend GENISTA LIGHTNIN checked outwards off ANOTHER COFFEE with JOHNNIE GEORGE also losing ground behind these runners. John McInerney the trainer of the winner ANOTHER GON was questioned in regards to the improved performance of this dog. He reported that an inside draw and the return to his favourite track were the catalysts for today's success.
Race 3	CENTRAL WATER CARRIERS - C0 - 390	SECRET VENUS and CAPTAIN PHIL were the last to jump. HOMEBUSH LAYLA checked outwards into the bend and lost ground. OUR REBEL GIRL ran very wide into the bend losing many lengths. She made ground late for fourth when balanced.
Race 4	www.southlandgreyhounds.co.nz - C0 - 390	FINGER POP and HOMEBUSH HELLS were the last to jump. OZARKS CROWN ran outwards into the bend contacting HOMEBUSH HELLS who lost ground. HOMEBUSH HELLS then made contact with the rail on the bend and lost more ground with a post race veterinary check revealing no injury. OZARKS CROWN dropped right away finishing 31.9 lengths from the winner. Trainer John Guthrie advised Stewards that OZARKS CROWN will now be retired from racing.
Race 5	BRENDON BURKE @ FIRST NATIONAL - C1 - 390	STAR GUN and SERAPHINE JEWEL were the last to jump. In the early stages SHADOW WOLF ran outwards checking AVERT and CEE CEE ARE who both lost ground. Into the bend MERMAN JEWEL checked outwards off AVERT and came together with TOWER who lost ground. SHADOW WOLF covered a lot of extra ground on the home turn but made ground strongly late for a close second.
Race 6	COLORMARK SYSTEMS LTD - C1 - 390	LEGEND BEE, MEMPHIS HOTCAKES and FIRESIDE FOX were the tardiest from the traps. RULEBOOK RAY angled outwards into the bend pushing MEMPHIS HOTCAKES and FIRESIDE FOX wider with these dogs losing ground. WHAT WHERE WHEN lost ground in behind these runners as LEGEND BEE ran outwards and checked him. LEGEND BEE and MEMPHIS HOTCAKES came together for a stride on the turn when well back.
Race 7	100% SELECTRIX - C3 - 390	TOM FINN was tightened into the bend and lost ground. Into the bend REAL FIRE POWER lost his place when coming together with TOM FINN who was improving on his inside.
Race 8	$25 YARD MUZZLE STAKES - C2 - 390	WATERHOUSE, DYNA INDIGO and NERD CORNER were all slow to jump. AUSSIE HAKA crossed quickly from an outside box tightening DANCING NORRIS and SOCRATES with DANCING NORRIS losing ground. SOCRATES and NERD CORNER were both dragged down into the bend when racing in confined quarters with both runners dropping to the rear. Post race veterinary checks of these runners revealed no injuries.
Race 9	ADDED ENERGY STAKES - C1 - 457	ATTIRE and MISS OZARK were the last to jump. At the end of the back straight DOOSRA was trying to get to the rail as MOREPORT SHANNON was attempting to get to the outside. This resulted in these two dogs jostling together for some distance and losing ground. HARDZ INGILLTAB switched around these runners to obtain racing room while ATTIRE was held up and lost ground.
Race 10	ASCOT PARK HOTEL - C2 - 457	THRILLING JONAH ran outwards in the back straight coming together with UNSHAKEN and FELIXSTOWE for a few strides. Wider out SLIGHTLY AMAZING also ran outwards checking KINGSTON FLYER who lost ground.
Race 11	$26 FIVE WIRE MUZZLE STAKES - C3/4 - 457	EMILY ran inwards at the jump checking WALK DA TORQUE and FEARSOME MCKAY who lost ground. At the end of the back straight ADMIRE and DYNA FRIER came together wide on the track. Into the bend FEARSOME MCKAY checked outwards off OPAWA JOHNNY and into the path of WALK DA TORQUE who stumbled and fell. He regained his paws and completed the race with a post race veterinary check revealing bruising to the left thigh with a five day stand down recommended.
